In 1958, company founder Richard T. Fisher in roduced he firs Bos on Whaler boa in Brain ree,
Massachusse s. I fea ured wo significan innova ions: firs , i s win sponson hull design produced superior
s abili y and a remarkably dry ride; second, i s unique foam core cons ruc ion made he boa no only du-
rable, bu unsinkable as well. Fisher ook every oppor uni y o illus ra e he unique charac eris ics of he
Bos on Whaler. His mos famous demons ra ion was cap ured in 1961, by Life Magazine. The series of
pho ographs showed he boa underway, he boa being sawed in half and ul ima ely Fisher mo oring away in
he remaining half of he boa . And hrough he years many o her demons ra ions have proved he oughness
and durabili y of he Bos on Whaler hull. And hough you may never cu your boa in half, his only goes o

Our Hull
Bos on Whaler® hulls are cons ruc ed wi h our pa -
en ed Unibond cons ruc ion. This involves shoo -
ing high densi y foam in o a closed mold sys em.
The foam expands o fill voids in he hull, and when
he finished produc is pulled from he mold, he deck
and he hull are chemically bonded o form a solid,
inseparable uni .

The deck drain provides self-bailing capabilities while the
boat is static in the water and no passengers on board.
This feature prevents the accumulation of water in the
cockpit. the drain must be in place when underway.
NOTICE
!
Depending on the type of boat you have, you may
have underwater fittings that need drain plugs.
Garboard drain plugs and fishbox drain plugs need
to be in place before the boat goes into the water.
Any fitting that will be underwater needs to be
plugged or the seacock needs to be closed
NOTICE
!
Through hull fittings should be checked for proper
seal annually. When the boat is in the water the un-
derwater fittings can be checked for dripping. It is
recommended that the underwater fittings be re-
moved, cleaned and resealed every other year.

If the through hull fittings need to be replaced, it is
recommended that an authorized Boston Whaler ®
dealer perform this type of repair.Through hull fit-
tings that are improperly installed can cause pre-
mature hull failure and may void the Boston
Whaler® limited warranty.
