Charging
Recommended ambient temperature for charging is 41 °F to 95 °F / 5 °C to
35 °C. The battery may not charge properly or at all under extreme low or
high temperatures. Recommended ambient temperature for shaving is 60 °F
to 95 °F / 15 °C to 35 °C. Do not expose the shaver to temperatures higher
than 122 °F / 50 °C for extended periods of time.
• Using the special cord set (6), connect the appliance to an electrical outlet
with the motor switched off.
• When charging for the first time or when the appliance is not used for a
few months, leave the appliance to charge continuously for 4 hours.
• Once the appliance is completely charged, discharge it through normal
use. Then recharge to full capacity. Subsequent charges will take about
8 hours.
• A full charge provides up to 40 minutes of cordless operating time.
This may vary according to your beard growth.
• Maximum battery capacity will only be reached after several charging/
discharging cycles.
Pilot light (3)
The pilot light shows the status of the batteries. It shines permanently green
provided the appliance is connected to an electrical outlet. When the battery
is fully charged, the pilot light turns off.

Comb attachments (1a, 1b)
The combs can be taken off by pressing the release buttons (1c) with your
thumb and forefinger.
Beard trimming
• Place the beard comb (1a) on the appliance with the appliance turned off (a).
• Press length selector (4) and slide the beard comb up to your desired
beard length (possible length settings: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11mm).
• It is advisable to begin with the highest setting and then reduce the setting
until you reach the desired beard length.
• Press the on/off switch. Hold the beard comb with the angled edge
against your beard and guide the trimmer against the direction of the hair
growth (a).
• To avoid clogging the beard comb with hair, clean it from time to time with
the brush.
Contour Trimming / Styling
The wide trimmer (2) evenly cuts and trims large areas. It is ideal for shaping
sideburns, moustaches and partial short beards. Take off the comb. While
stretching the skin, guide the wide trimmer against the direction of hair
growth (b).
Hair cutting
The hair should be clean, well combed, tangle-free and dry.
• Place the hair comb (1b) on the appliance with the appliance turned off (c).
• Press the length selector (4) and slide the distance comb up to your
desired hair length (possible length settings: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 mm).
If you are not used to clipping hair, begin with a higher setting and then
reduce the setting to avoid cutting more hair than desired. If you want to
cut your hair shorter than 10mm, we advise to first cut it with the hair
comb (1b) down to 10mm and then use the beard comb for the desired
length.
• Use a slow and controlled movement. Do not force the appliance through
the hair faster than it can be cut (d).
• In between, shake or blow off the hair. If too much hair is caught in the
comb, remove and clean it.

Cleaning
The appliance is suitable for cleaning under running tap water. Warning:
Detach the appliance from the power supply before cleaning it with water.
Regular cleaning ensures better trimming performance.
Cleaning with the brush
• Switch off the appliance. Open the wide trimmer by pressing with the
thumb against the trimmer from the front side. It opens by ca. 45° and can
also be taken off (e).
• Using the brush clean the trimmers and the space behind the wide
trimmer (inside the housing).
Cleaning with water
• Switch off the appliance and rinse the head and trimmers under warm
running water (f). You can also rinse the opened wide trimmer (g). You may
use liquid soap without abrasive substances. Rinse off all foam.
• Leave the appliance with opened wide trimmer to dry.
• If you regularly clean the trimmers under water, apply a few drops of light
machine oil onto the trimmers as indicated in the drawing (h).
Keeping your appliance in top shape
Preserving the batteries
In order to maintain the optimum capacity of the rechargeable batteries, the
appliance has to be fully discharged (by trimming/cutting) every 6 months
approximately. Then recharge the appliance to full capacity.
Environmental notice

protecting the environment, please do not dispose of the product in
the household waste at the end of its useful life. Disposal can take
place at a Braun Service Center or at appropriate collection points
provided in your country.

Mise en charge du rasoir
La température ambiante recommandée pour la mise en charge est de 5 °C
à 35 °C (41 °F à 95 °F). Il se peut que la pile ne se recharge pas correctement
ou qu’elle ne se recharge pas du tout à des températures extrêmement
hautes ou basses. La température ambiante recommandée pour le rasage
est de 15 °C à 35 °C (60 °F à 95 °F). Ne pas exposer le rasoir à une
température supérieure à 50 °C (122 °F) pendant trop longtemps.
• À l’aide du cordon d’alimentation spécial (6), brancher l’appareil éteint à
une prise de courant.
• Lors de la première charge ou lorsque l’appareil n’est pas utilisé durant
quelques mois, laisser l’appareil charger en continu pendant au moins
4 heures.
• Une fois l’appareil complètement chargé, l’utiliser normalement jusqu’à ce
qu’il soit déchargé, puis le recharger à sa pleine capacité. Les charges
suivantes prendront environ 8 heures.
• Une pleine charge procure environ 40 minutes d’utilisation sans cordon.
Cette durée peut varier selon le type de cheveux.
• La capacité maximale de la pile ne sera atteinte qu’après plusieurs cycles
de charge/décharge.

Témoin lumineux de charge (3)
Le témoin lumineux de charge affiche le niveau de charge des piles.
Il demeure vert si l’appareil est branché à une prise murale. Lorsque la pile
est totalement chargée, le témoin lumineux de charge s’éteint.
Peignes (1a, 1b)
Les peignes peuvent être retirés en appuyant sur les boutons d’éjection (1c)
à l’aide du pouce et de l’index.
Taille de la barbe
• Placer le peigne à barbe (1a) sur l’appareil éteint (a).
• Appuyer sur le sélecteur de longueur de coupe (4) et glisser le peigne pour
couper la barbe de la longueur désirée (longueurs de coupes possibles :
1, 3, 5, 7, 9 et 11 mm).
• Il est recommandé de commencer par la coupe la plus longue et de
diminuer jusqu’à l’obtention de la longueur désirée.
• Appuyer sur l’interrupteur marche/arrêt. Tenir le peigne à barbe en
appuyant la lame sur la barbe et guider la tondeuse dans le sens opposé
à la repousse (a).
• Pour éviter d’obstruer le peigne avec des poils, le nettoyer de temps en
temps à l’aide de la brosse.
Taille de précision et styles
La tondeuse large (2) permet d’égaliser et de tailler les poils sur des zones
plus larges. Elle est idéale pour tailler les favoris, la moustache et la barbe
courte. Retirer le peigne. Tout en tendant la peau, guider la tondeuse large
dans le sens opposé à la repousse (b).
Coupe des cheveux
Les cheveux doivent être propres, bien peignés, démêlés et secs.
• Placer le peigne pour couper les cheveux (1b) sur l’appareil éteint (c).
• Appuyer sur le sélecteur de longueur de coupe (6) et glisser le peigne pour
couper les cheveux à la longueur désirée (longueurs de coupes possibles :
10, 12, 14, 16, 18 et 20 mm). Si vous n’avez pas l’habitude de couper les
cheveux, commencez par une coupe plus longue, puis diminuez la
longueur afin d’éviter d’enlever trop de cheveux. Si vous voulez couper

vos cheveux à une longueur de moins de 10 mm, nous vous conseillons
de les couper d’abord à une longueur de 10 mm à l’aide du peigne pour
couper les cheveux (1b), puis d’utiliser le peigne à barbe afin d’obtenir la
longueur désirée.
• Raser en faisant des mouvements lents et maîtrisés. Ne pas forcer le
rasoir à couper plus rapidement qu’il ne le permet (d).
• Entre-temps, secouer le rasoir ou souffler sur les cheveux. Enlever les
cheveux qui restent coincés dans le peigne et le nettoyer.
Nettoyage
Cet appareil peut être nettoyé sous l’eau du robinet. Mise en garde :
débrancher l’appareil de la prise de courant avant de le nettoyer à l’eau.
Un nettoyage régulier assure une meilleure performance de rasage.
Nettoyage à l’aide de la brosse
• Éteindre l’appareil. Ouvrir la tondeuse large en appuyant sur le devant à
l’aide du pouce. Elle s’ouvre à un angle de 45° et peut également être
retirée (e).
• À l’aide de la brosse, nettoyer la tondeuse et l’espace derrière la tondeuse
(à l’intérieur du boîtier).
Nettoyage à l’eau
• Éteindre le rasoir et rincer la tête et la tondeuse à l’eau courrante chaude
(f). Vous pouvez également rincer la tondeuse large en la laissant ouverte
(g). Vous pouvez utiliser un peu de savon doux naturel qui ne contient
aucune particule abrasive. Rincer toute la mousse.
• Faire sécher le rasoir en laissant la tondeuse large ouverte.
• Si vous nettoyez régulièrement la tondeuse sous l’eau courante, appliquez
quelques gouttes d’huile mouvement sur la tondeuse, tel qu’indiqué dans
l’illustration (h).
Entretien de l’appareil
Entretien des piles
Afin de conserver la capacité optimale des piles rechargeables, il faut laisser
l’appareil se décharger entièrement (en taillant/coupant) environ tous les 6 mois.
Recharger ensuite l’appareil à sa pleine capacité.
