2. Beforeservicingorcleaningunit,switchpower
off at service panel and lock service panel to
prevent power from being switched on
accidentally.When theservice disconnecting
means cannot be locked, securely fasten a
prominent warning device, such as a tag, to
theservice panel.
3. Installationwork and electricalwiring mustbe
done by a qualified person(s) in accordance
withallapplicablecodesandstandards,includ-
ing fire-rated construction codes and stan-
dards.
4. Sufficientairis neededforproper combustion
andexhaustingofgasesthroughtheflue(chim-
ney) of fuel burning equipment to prevent
backdrafting. Follow the heating equipment
manufacturer’s guidelines and safety stan-
dardssuchasthosepublishedbytheNational
Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the
American Society for Heating, Refrigeration
andAirConditioningEngineers(ASHRAE),and
thelocalcode authorities.
5. Whencutting or drilling intowall or ceiling, do
notdamageelectrical wiring andotherhidden
utilities.
6. Ductedfansmustalwaysbeventedtotheout-
doors.
7. Donotuse this unitwithany solid-statespeed
controldevice.
8. To reduce the risk of fire, use only steel
ductwork.

C. Cleanventilatingfansfrequently.Greaseshouldnot
beallowed toaccumulateonfanorfilter.
D. Useproperpansize.Alwaysusecookwareappropriate
forthesizeofthesurfaceelement.

2. NEVER PICKUPAFLAMING PAN -Youmay
beburned.
3. DONOTUSEWATER,includingwetdishcloths
ortowels - violentsteam explosionwill result.
4. Useanextinguisher ONLYif:
A. You know you have a Class ABC extin-
guisherand you already know how to op-
erateit.
B. The fire is small and contained in the area
whereit started.
C. Thefire department isbeingcalled.
D. You can fight the fire with your back to an
exit.

willautomaticallyshutoffthemotorifitbecomes
overheated.Themotorwillrestartwhenitcools
down. If the motor continues to shut off and
restart,havethehoodserviced.
7. For best capture of cooking impurities, the
bottomofthehoodshouldbeaminimumof24"
anda maximum of30" above the cooking sur-
face.
8. Twoinstallersarerecommendedbecauseofthe
largesizeand weight ofthishood.
