FOREWORD
- Thanks for choosing LH-TB1000 high accuracy turbidity meter.
- Turbidity meter is used to test turbidity in the water. It is scattered light
technology. Its working principle is: when light irradiate water surface, if no suspended particle,
light will not change direction. If have particles, light will have scattered light which will be used to
determine water turbidity. Turbidity meter is widely used in power station company, environmental
protection institute, water plant, water treatment factory, beverage company, drinks industry,
hospital, liquor making industry, pharmaceutical industry, epidemic prevention departments etc.
- Operated by micro-computer, it is high accurate, good stability, high reliability, easy-to-operate and
maintenance.
- This instructions is a guideline for operation, maintenance, calibration. Do read it carefully before
testing which can make you operate the machine smoother and enhance the efficiency.

WORKING CONDITION
1. Ambient temperature:5~35℃
2. Relative humidity:≤80%
3. Power: DC 1.5VX5 AA battery; AC 220V/50Hz/DC7.5V/ 0.2A
4. The instrument must be placed on the flat test-bed smoothly, and avoid the direct
light.
5. For heat dissipation, there must have enough space around the instrument, and no
strong vibration source and strong interference of magnetic field.
6. There should be no obvious dust and corrosive gas around.
PREPARATION BEFORE TEST
1. Turn on the power, preheat for 30 minutes.
2. Use the soft cloth to wipe the water stain and fingerprint at sample bottle; for
strong stain, soak the bottle into detergent, then flush it with distilled water;
3. Prepare the standard Formazine turbidity solution for calibration.
4. Use the clean container to collect the test solution.
5.To prepare standard calibration solution, please follow below chart:

Pls note the solution should be stored under 4~8℃and shady area.
MEASURING STEPS & MODULE MAP
1. Choose the module first, “Measure”is measuring module; “Cal”is calibration
module; “Set”is setting module.
2. After pour the calibration solution or test solution into the sample bottle up to the
scale, close the lid and wipe the water and fingerprint at the outerwall of the bottle.
To get accurate test result, do not touch the main body of bottle by hand directly to
avoid leaving the fingerprint.
3. Place the sample bottle with calibration solution or test solution into the sample
holder and make sure the scale line “+”of bottle lines up with the white position
line of sample holder, then cover it.
4. Under “Measure”module, press “Enter”key, the test result will shown on screen.
5. Under “Calibration”module, press “Switch”key to choose the calibration points
you prefer, total is 7 points, that is 0NTU, 50NTU, 100NTU, 200NTU, 400NTU, 800NTU
and 1000NTU.
6. Under “Set”module, you can adjust the backlit function and auto shut-off time.
7. For “Update Speed”under “Set”module, it is for adjusting the sensitivity of the
sensor, the accuracy will not be impacted.

NOTICE
Do read the instructions carefully before testing which can make you operate the machine
smoother and enhance the efficiency.
1. Operating environment must suitable for the working condition.
2. The measuring cell must be clean, dry and dust-free, the shading cover should be
closed when not using it.
3. For wet weather, delay the uptime.
4. The tested solution should be poured carefully into the bottle, avoiding to make the
bubble which will affect the test accuracy.
5. Recalibrate when the sample bottle is replaced or after maintenance.
6. Nonprofessionals are not supported to repair the instrument.
7. After filling the test solution into the sample bottle, conduct test immediately,
otherwise, the temperature fluctuation and particle deposition will impact the test
result.
8. The sample bottle must be cleaned very well and do not leave any scratch mark. After
wash it by laboratory detergent, flush it by distilled water repeatedly. Dry it by dust-
free dryer. After using for a long time, soak the bottle into diluted hydrochloric acid
for two hours, then flush it by distilled water repeatedly. Do not touch the main part
of the bottle, any fingerprint will impact the test result.
9. Preparing the Formazine turbidity standard solution correctly is very important to
get correct test result. Pay attention on every steps when prepare the standard solution,
swing the original solution evenly, transfer the solution correctly. Using high capacity
measuring bottle to prepare low value Formazine turbidity standard solution can reduce
the error.
10. Using suitable standard solution for calibration, before do calibration, do swing
the standard solution evenly to make sure the calibration value is correct. To get more
precise test result, repeat the calibration process for the same standard solution.

11. Typical water sample can reflect the actuality of its water source. A mixture process
for several water samples taken from different positions is a must, avoiding deposition,
bubble and big particle impacting the test result. If the temperature of water sample is
very low, there will be condensation water or frost at the outerwall of the sample bottle.
In that case, place the bottle for a period of time, till the water temperature is close
to the room temperature, then clear the water stain at the outerwall of bottle.
12. During the testing, make sure the scale line of bottle lines up with the white
position line of sample holder and cover the lid to avoid the external interference.
13. Because of the drift of the particle in water, the test result shows on the screen
may be not stable instantly. So, keeping waiting until the result is stable.
14.Sometimes, if there are many bubbles or suspending impurities in the water, the result
will not be stable. In that case, choose the maximum and minimum, the average of them is
the actually test result.
15. The meter has auto power-off function.
16. If he machine will not be used for a long time, preheat regularly in order to keep
it from humidity.
17. During storage or shipment, keep away from the place where is in high or low
temperature and wet, to protect the optical system and electrical element.
18. Clean the sample bottle and clear the sample holder regularly, can improve the test
accuracy. Be careful and do not scratch the surface of the glass.
19. Do not touch the optical element by hand directly. Using the absorbent cotton which
absorbs the mixture of alcohol and ethyl ether to clear the dust at the surface.
