INSTALLATION

Installation
The sound quality of your audioconference
may be affected by the acoustics of the room
and any background noise. You may wish to
consider this when deciding where to place
your unit.
Place the product close enough to the
telephone and mains power sockets so that
the cables will reach. Please be careful and
ensure that trailing leads are not where
people may trip over them.
Make sure that the unit is at least 1 metre
away from other electrical products to avoid
interference and do not place on carpets or
other similar surfaces that absorb sound and
generate fibres.
During an audioconference people should
be seated no more than 3 metres from
the unit or 2 metres from the optional
extension microphone.
Plug in the mains power cable to the socket
labelled AC9V on the unit and then plug in
to the wall socket and switch on. The unit
will beep so that you know that power has
been connected.

Almost all direct telephone lines in the UK
are tone dialling but if you are using the
Conference Unit behind a switchboard then
you may need to set this switch to PULSE.
Set the switch to the TONE
position and turn the unit on by
pressing the ON/OFF button on
the right hand side.
Remembering to use any
switchboard access digits that
may be required (usually 9), dial
a number that you know.
If you hear ringing or engaged
signal the switch is already in the
correct position. If the call is
unsuccessful, push the switch to
the PULSE position and try the
above test again.
This switch, found on the right hand side,
allows you to change the volume of the
incoming ringing or to turn the ringer off.
Please remember that with this switch in the
OFF position the unit will NOT ring for
incoming calls.
