1. Overvie
1.1 Introduction
The No-Ca cading new CAN Fiber Optic Converter i a multi-ma ter and high performance
Field bu Control Sy tem (FCS). The modular fiber optic tran mi ion y tem can be u ed
to tran mit CAN-ba ed bu y tem uch a DeviceNet or CANOpen via fiber optic data
interface over a pair of multi mode or ingle mode optical fiber . Our FMC Fiber Optic
Converter u e the fiber cable a it tran mi ion medium and utilize Optical Fiber
modulation/demodulation technology to change the electric medium into a light medium
tran mi ion.
The Fiber Optic Converter product eliminate many of the di advantage of copper cable.
Example of the e di advantage are EMI/RFI, ground loop (electrical i olation with fiber),
high attenuation (high ignal lo ), hort tran mi ion di tance between node of a y tem,
and potential lightning damage.
The Fiber Optic Converter can be widely u ed, uch a Indu trial Control , Intelligent
Tran portation Sy tem (ITS), Indu trial Networking, Supervi ory Control and Data (SCADA)
and o on.

2.3 Install Methods
1. Switch off all power upply before in tallation.
2. Connect the local “TX” Fiber Optic to the remote “RX” Fiber Optic, the local “RX” to the
remote “TX”. And en ure that fiber i properly aligned to the receiving connector.
3. Connect the “D 0 +” Data of the CANH and the “D 0 -” Data to the CANL. Then crew down
the bolt.
4. On the bottom of the Converter, there i a DIP Switch., When the SW0 i “ON”,it'
connected to 120 Ohm terminal re i tance .

2.4 Configure the baud rate by soft are
Switch the “B0” button to F po ition and connect the traight line(NOT cro line) to the
con ole port(DB9) and the other end of the line to the computer.
1.Open CANConfig and click“CAN FIB-100BT”,you will ee 3 option : Ba ic Info,Baud rate and Filter.
2.Software Configuration
(1) Open RS232 ： Communicate with the erial RS232.
(2) Read Parameter ： Read all parameter of the device and di play them.
(3) Write Parameter ： Write all parameter into the device.The e parameter will be tored to the
fla h and read them automatically when power on.
3.Device Parameter

Click the “Open RS232” and read out all information by clicking “Read Parameter” button.The “Ba ic
info” option contain the vendor ID,device type,device code,hardware ver ion, oftware ver ion and
erial number .
3.2 Baudrate
“ Baudrate” i for etting up the baud rate of all channel of the device.When the rotary button i
witched to”F” po ition,you can configure the baud rate on it.See the below figure and baud rate
table:
