• Caution! The surfaces are liable to get hot during
use. Do no touch during and shortly after use!
• DO NOT use jet/pressure washers to clean the appliance.

• Do not overfill the water reservoir.
• Ensure the power cord never touches the hotplate.

• Never leave the empty glass jug on the hotplate when the
coffee maker is on. Otherwise, the carafe is liable to crack.

• Always switch off and disconnect the power supply to the
appliance when cleaning or not in use.

• This appliance must only be used in accordance with these
instructions and by persons competent to do so.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged
less than 8 years.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar
applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working
environments;
- farm houses;

Installation
• The appliance is not suitable for installation in an area where a water jet could be used.
• Do not place the coffee maker on a highly polished wooden surface as damage may occur to the
surface.

Preparation before first use
BUFFALO recommend that the appliance is cleaned
out before using for the first time, or if the
appliance has been sat unused for an extended
period of time.
1. Slide the empty filter basket into position
between the two basket tabs.
2. Place the jug on the bottom hotplate beneath
the basket.
3. Fill the water reservoir with cold water.
Note:
• Use the jug to fill the water
reservoir to ensure its
maximum capacity is not
exceeded. The maximum
amount of water the
reservoir can contain is 1.8L
(Min. water to fill: 0.5L).
• If too much water is filled,
excess water will drain out
through the flow hose.

4. Connect to the mains power supply.
5. Turn the power switch for brewing On. The
brewing indicator light illuminates and the hot
water will begin to fill the jug.
Note: During operation, steam
may rise from the appliance and
loud bubbling noises may be
heard. This is perfectly normal.
6. Once finished the brewing indicator light will
switch off. Discard the hot water in the jug.
Warning: The glass jug becomes
hot during operation. Always pick
up the jug by the handle to avoid
injury.
7. Repeat steps 1-6. The appliance is now ready
for use.
Caution:
• A small amount of water
(approx. 0.5L) will always
remain in the appliance. Do
not tip over after use. Also
ensure to note this when
adding water again later.
• If the appliance is ever
drained down, ensure to
repeat the above preparation
steps.
Making Coffee
Caution: The appliance is
intended solely for brewing
coffee. Never use it for any
other purposes.
1. Place a paper filter inside the filter basket.
2. Measure the required amount of ground coffee
into the filter paper and slide the filter basket
into position.
3. Place the jug on the bottom hotplate beneath
the basket.
4. Fill the water reservoir with cold water.
5. Turn the power switch for brewing On. The
brewing indicator light illuminates and the hot
coffee will begin to fill the jug.
6. Once finished the brewing indicator light will
switch off.
7. Leave the jug on the hotplate to keep warm, if
required. Discard the coffee residue and filter
paper from the filter basket.
8. To turn Off the hotplate, turn off the power
switch .

Using the top hotplate
This appliance is fitted with a second hotplate to
keep an additional jug warm. To use:
1. Place the jug on the top hotplate.
2. Turn the power switch On for the top
hotplate.
3. Ensure to turn the top hotplate off when not in
use.
Warning!
The surrounding surface of the
hotplate may become hot. DO
NOT touch! Never heat an empty
Jug on the hotplate, or allow the
Jug to run dry.
Overheating protection
This appliance is featured with overheating
protection. Should the temperature exceed safe
levels the appliance will automatically cut off
power.
Caution!
In case the protection against
overheating is activated, please
let the appliance cool and press
the RESET button on the back.
Cleaning, Care &
Maintenance
Warning!
• Turn off and disconnect
the appliance from the
power supply. Allow to cool
sufficiently before cleaning
and maintenance.
• Prior to cleaning, moving or
transporting the appliance,
ensure to empty the water
reservoir.
Emptying the water reservoir
• A small amount of water (approx. 0.5L) will
always remain in the appliance. Do not tip over
after use to drain water.
• The remaining water should only be drained
using the drain screw at the back of the device.

• Re-tighten the water drain screw firmly
afterwards.
Warning!
DO NOT loosen the water drain
screw during operation or shortly
after use! Risk of scalding!
Cleaning
• Use soapy water and a damp cloth to clean the
exterior of the appliance.
• Wash the glass jug and filter basket with warm
soapy water. Then rinse with clean water.
• Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Caution!
Clean the device regularly and
remove any lime scale. Refer to
the instructions on next page for
descaling details.

Descaling
In hard water areas limescale can build up within the appliance after prolonged use. For best taste and
extended appliance life, descale it regularly. Installation of a water filtration system is also recommended.
BUFFALO recommend descaling your unit every 2 weeks or more frequently in case of heavy uses. To
descale the appliance:
1. Pour a solution of descaler and water into the reservoir.
Use a suitable descaler and follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the
descaler’s container.
2. Turn the power switch for brewing On.
3. After the solution begins to drop into the jug, turn the appliance Off.
4. Wait 5 - 6 minutes to let the solution dissolve the deposits inside. Then turn the appliance back On.
5. After the entire solution has worked through the system, turn the appliance Off.
6. Discard the solution collected in the jug.
7. Fill the reservoir with clean water and turn the appliance back On to flush out the system and remove
any descaler residue. Discard the collected water and rinse the jug. Repeat with clean water 2 more
times to flush out.
8. Drain the water completely using the drain screw at the back.
9. The appliance is now ready again for use.
IMPORTANT: Failure to descale or maintain will invalidate your guarantee.

Veiligheidstips

servicetechnicus/vaktechnicus uit te voeren. Verwijder geen
componenten of servicepanelen van dit product.

• Voorzicht! De oppervlakken kunnen tijdens gebruik
heet worden. Niet aanraken tijdens en kort na gebruik!
• Gebruik GEEN jet / hogedrukreinigers om het apparaat schoon
te maken.
• Dompel het apparaat NIET onder in water.
• Overvul het waterreservoir niet.
• Zorg ervoor dat het netsnoer nooit de kookplaat raakt.
• Raak de kookplaat NIET aan wanneer het apparaat aan staat.
• Laat het apparaat tijdens werking NIET zonder toezicht.
• Filterhouder tijdens het filterproces NIET verwijderen.
• Laat de lege glazen kruik nooit op de kookplaat staan als het
koffiezetapparaat is ingeschakeld. Anders kruik de kan worden

• Schakel het apparaat altijd uit en haal de steker uit het

Inleiding
Neem de tijd en lees deze handleiding aandachtig door. Een correct gebruik en onderhoud van deze
machine waarborgt de beste prestatie van uw BUFFALO product.
Verpakkingsinhoud
De verpakking bevat het volgende:

verpakkingen, tijdens de verpakkingsfase, op functionaliteit en schade.
Mocht u product door transport zijn beschadigd, neem dan onmiddellijk contact op met uw BUFFALO
dealer.
Installatie
• Het apparaat is niet geschikt voor installatie in een gebied waar een waterstraal kan worden gebruikt.
• Plaats het koffiezetapparaat niet op een sterk gepolijst houten oppervlak, omdat de oppervlakte kan
beschadigen.

Voorbereiding vóór eerste gebruik
BUFFALO adviseert dat het apparaat wordt
schoongemaakt voordat het voor de eerste keer
wordt gebruikt of dat het apparaat lange tijd niet
wordt gebruikt.
1. Schuif de lege filtermand op zijn plaats tussen
de twee mand tabbladen.
2. Plaats de kruik op de onderste warmhoudplaat
onder de mand.
3. Vul het waterreservoir met koud water.
Opmerking:
• Gebruik de kruik om het
reservoir te vullen om te
zorgen dat de maximale
capaciteit niet wordt
overschreden. De maximale
hoeveelheid water die het
reservoir kan bevatten, is
1,8 liter (Min. water om te
vullen: 0,5 L).
• Als er te veel water is
gevuld, zal overtollig water
via de stromingsslang naar
buiten stromen.

4. Sluit aan op de netvoeding.
5. Zet de stroomschakelaar voor het zetten aan.
Het brouwindicatielampje gaat branden en het
hete water begint de kan te vullen.
Opmerking: Tijdens gebruik
kan stoom uit het apparaat
opstijgen en luide bubbelende
geluiden hoorbaar zijn. Dit is
volkomen normaal.
6. Eenmaal klaar, zal het brouwen-indicatielampje
uitgaan. Gooi het hete water in de kan weg.
WAARSCHUWING: De glazen kan
wordt heet tijdens het gebruik.
Pak de kruik altijd bij het handvat
op om letsel te voorkomen.
7. Herhaal stap 1-6. Het apparaat is nu klaar voor
gebruik.
Voorsicht:
• Er blijft altijd een kleine
hoeveelheid water (ca. 0,5
L) in het apparaat achter.
Kantel niet na gebruik. Zorg
er ook voor dat u dit noteert
wanneer u later water
toevoegt.
• Als het apparaat
ooit leegloopt, moet
u de bovenstaande
voorbereidingsstappen
herhalen.
Koffie zetten
Voorsicht: Het apparaat is
uitsluitend bedoeld voor het
zetten van koffie. Gebruik het
nooit voor andere doeleinden.
1. Plaats een papieren filter in de filtermand
2. Meet de vereiste hoeveelheid gemalen koffie in
het filterpapier en schuif de filtermand op zijn
plaats.
3. Plaats de kan op de onderste kookplaat onder
de mand.
4. Vul het waterreservoir met koud water.
5. Zet de stroomschakelaar voor het zetten an.
Het brouwindicatielampje gaat branden en het
hete water begint de kan te vullen.
6. Eenmaal klaar, zal het brouwen-indicatielampje
uitgaan.
7. Laat de kan op de kookplaat om hem indien
nodig warm te houden. Gooi de koffieresten en
filterpapier uit de filtermand.
8. Zet de stroomschakeler uit om de kookplaat uit
te schakelen.
Waarschuwing: De kookplaat
wordt tijdens gebruik heet. Het
mag tijdens gebruik niet worden
aangeraakt en u moet het ook
een tijdje daarna vermijden om
het aan te raken!

Gebruik van de kookplaat
Dit apparaat is uitgerust met een tweede kookplaat
om een extra kan warm te houden. Te gebruiken:
1. Plaats de kruik op de bovenste kookplaat.
2. Schakel de stroomschakelaar in voor de
bovenste kookplaat.
3. Zorg ervoor dat de bovenste plaat wordt
uitgeschakeld als deze niet in gebruik is.
WAARSCHUWING: Het
omringende oppervlak van de
kookplaat kan heet worden. NIET
aanraken! Verwarm nooit een
lege kruik op de kookplaat, of
laat de kruik niet leeglopen.
Bescherming tegen oververhitting
Dit apparaat is voorzien van bescherming tegen
oververhitting. Als de temperatuur de veilige
niveaus overschrijdt, schakelt het apparaat
automatisch de stroom uit.
Voorzicht!
Als de bescherming tegen
oververhitting is geactiveerd,
laat het apparaat dan afkoelen
en druk op de RESET-knop aan
de achterkant.
Reiniging, verzorging &
onderhoud
Waarschuwing!
• Schakel het apparaat uit
en haal de stekker uit het
sopcontact. Laat voldoende
afkoelen voor reiniging en
onderhoud.
• Zorg ervoor dat u het
waterreservoir leegmaakt
voordat u het apparaat
schoonmaakt, verplaatst of
vervoert.
Waterreservoir legen
• Er blijft altijd een kleine hoeveelheid water (ca.
0,5 L) in het apparaat achter. Kantel niet na
gebruik om water af te voeren.
• Het resterende water mag alleen worden
afgetapt met de aftapschroef aan de
achterkant van het apparaat.
Aftapschroef
• Draai de waterafvoerschroef daarna weer
stevig vast.
Waarschuwing!
Draai de waterafvoerschroef
NIET los tijdens gebruik of kort
na gebruik! Verbrandingsgevaar!
Schoonmaken
• Gebruik zeepwater en een vochtige doek om
de buitenkant van het apparaat schoon te
maken.
• Was de glazen kan en filtermand met warm
zeepwater. Spoel daarna met schoon water.
• Droog grondig na het reinigen.
Voorzicht!
Reinig het apparaat regelmatig
en verwijder de kalk. Raadpleeg
de instructies op de volgende
pagina voor details over het
ontkalken.

Ontkalken
In gebieden met hard water kan kalkaanslag zich na langdurig gebruik in het apparaat ophopen. Voor
de beste smaak en langere levensduur van het apparaat, ontkalk het regelmatig. De installatie van een
waterfiltratiesysteem wordt ook aanbevolen.
BUFFALO raadt aan om uw apparaat om de 2 weken te ontkalken of vaker bij intensief gebruik. Om het
apparaat te ontkalken:
1. Giet een oplossing van ontkalker en water in het reservoir.
Gebruik een geschikte ontkalker en volg de instructies van de fabrikant op de
verpakking.
2. Zet de stroomschakelaar voor het zetten aan.
3. Nadat de oplossing in de kan is gevallen, schakelt u het apparaat uit.
4. Wacht 5-6 minuten om de oplossing de afzettingen in de oplossing te laten oplossen. Schakel het
apparaat vervolgens weer in.
5. Nadat de hele oplossing door het systeem is gegaan, schakelt u het apparaat uit.
6. Gooi de oplossing weg die in de kan is verzameld.
7. Vul het reservoir met schoon water en zet het apparaat weer aan om het systeem te spoelen en
resten van de ontkalker te verwijderen. Gooi het verzamelde water weg en spoel de kan. Om uit te
spoelen, herhaal nog 2 keer met schoon water.
8. Tap het water volledig af met behulp van de aftapschroef aan de achterkant.
9. Het apparaat is nu weer klaar voor gebruik.
BELANGRIJK: Het niet ontkalken of onderhouden maakt uw garantie ongeldig.

Elektrische bedrading
Men dient de steker op een geschikt stopcontact aan te sluiten.
De bedrading van dit apparaat is als volgt:
• Stroomkabel (bruin) naar de aansluitklem gemarkeerd met L
• Neutraalkabel (blauw) naar de aansluitklem gemarkeerd met N

Dit apparaat moet worden geaard.

Conseils de sécurité
• Placez l’appareil sur une surface plane, stable.
• L’installation et les éventuelles réparations doivent être
confiées à un dépanneur / technicien qualifié. Ne retirez aucun
composant ou cache de ce produit.
• Consultez les normes locales et nationales pour vous
conformer aux :
- lois sur l’hygiène et la sécurité au travail ;
- codes de bonnes pratiques BS EN ;
- précautions contre le risque d’incendie ;
- réglementations sur les branchements électriques IEE ;
- règlements sur la construction.
• Mise en garde ! Les surfaces pourraient devenir
chaudes pendant l’utilisation. Ne pas toucher pendant
et peu de temps après l’utilisation !
• N’utilisez PAS d’appareils à jets/pression pour nettoyer l’appareil.
• N’immergez PAS l’appareil dans l’eau.
• Ne remplissez pas trop le réservoir d’eau.
• Assurez-vous que le cordon d’alimentation ne touche jamais la
plaque de maintien au chaud.
• Ne touchez PAS la plaque de maintien au chaud quand
l’appareil est allumé.
• NE PAS laisser l’appareil en service sans surveillance.
• NE PAS retirer le porte-filtre pendant le processus de filtration.
• Ne laissez jamais la verseuse en verre vide sur la plaque de
maintien au chaud quand la machine à café est en marche. La
carafe risque de se briser.
• NE la placez PAS sur ou à proximité de surfaces chaudes telles
qu’une table de cuisson, une plaque à induction ou une flamme nue.
• Cet appareil est réservé exclusivement à une utilisation à l’intérieur.
• N’utilisez jamais d’accessoires non recommandés par le
fabricant. Ces accessoires pourraient exposer l’utilisateur à des

• N’oubliez jamais d’éteindre et de débrancher l’appareil hors

• L’utilisation de cet appareil est exclusivement réservée aux

instructions.

sous la surveillance d’une personne responsable ou sous
réserve qu’ils aient reçu des instructions concernant l’utilisation
de l’appareil en toute sécurité et qu’ils comprennent les
dangers que l’appareil présente. Le nettoyage et l’entretien ne
doivent pas être effectués par des enfants, sauf s’ils sont âgés

visuelle, test de polarité, la continuité de masse, test d’isolation

Installation
• L’appareil n’est pas adapté pour une installation dans un endroit où un jet à eau est susceptible d’être
utilisé.
• Ne placez pas la machine à café sur une surface en bois fortement polie, cette dernière risquerait d’être
endommagée.

Préparation avant utilisation
BUFFALO recommande de nettoyer l’appareil avant
la première utilisation et quand l’appareil n’a pas
été utilisé pendant longtemps.
1. Mettez le panier à filtre vide en place entre les
deux encoches prévues.
2. Placez la verseuse sur la plaque de maintien au
chaud sous le panier.
3. Remplissez le réservoir avec de l’eau froide.
Remarque:
• Utilisez la verseuse pour
remplir le réservoir pour
ne pas dépasser le volume
maximum. Le réservoir peut
contenir 1,8 litres maximum
(Eau min. à remplir : 0,5L).
• Si trop d’eau est remplie,
l’excès d’eau s’évacuera par
le tuyau d’écoulement.

4. Raccorder à l’alimentation secteur.
5. Définir l’interrupteur d’alimentation sur
ébullition. Le témoin d’ébullition s’allume et
l’eau chaude commence à remplir le pot.
Remarque : Pendant le
fonctionnement, la vapeur peut
monter de l’appareil et des
bruits de bulles forts peuvent se
faire entendre. C’est tout à fait
normal.
6. Une fois l’opération terminée, le témoin
lumineux s’éteint. Déverser l’eau chaude dans
le pot.
ATTENTION : La verseuse en
verre devient brûlante pendant
le fonctionnement. Prenez-la
toujours par la poignée pour
éviter les blessures.
7. Répétez les étapes 1 à 6. L’appareil est à
présent prêt à être utilisé.
Mise en garde:
• Une petite quantité d’eau
(env. 0,5L) reste toujours
dans l’appareil. Ne pas
reverser après utilisation.
Veillez également à le noter
lorsque vous ajoutez à
nouveau de l’eau plus tard.
• Si l’appareil est vidangé,
assurez-vous de répéter les
étapes de préparation ci-
dessus.
Préparation du café
Mise en garde : L’appareil est
exclusivement destiné à la
préparation du café. Ne l’utilisez
jamais à d’autres fins.
1. Placez un filtre en papier à l’intérieur du panier
du filtre.
2. Mesurez la quantité requise de café moulu
dans le papier filtre et faites glisser le panier
du filtre en position.
3. Placez le pot sur la plaque de cuisson inférieure
sous le panier.
4. Remplissez le réservoir d’eau avec de l’eau
froide.
5. Mettez l’interrupteur d’alimentation en marche
pour l’ébullition. Le voyant lumineux d’ébullition
s’allume et le café chaud commence à remplir
le pot.
6. Une fois l’opération terminée, le témoin
lumineux s’éteint.
7. Laisser le pot sur la plaque de cuisson pour la
garder au chaud si nécessaire. Jeter les résidus
de café et le papier filtre du panier du filtre.
8. Pour éteindre la plaque chauffante, éteindre
l’interrupteur d’alimentation.
Avertissement : La plaque
chauffante chauffe pendant le
fonctionnement. Ne pas toucher
pendant et peu de temps après
l’utilisation !

Utilisation de la plaque de maintien
au chaud supérieure
Cet appareil est équipé d’une deuxième plaque de
maintien au chaud pour maintenir au chaud une
verseuse supplémentaire. Utilisation :
1. Placez la verseuse sur la plaque de maintien au
chaud supérieure.
2. Appuyez sur l’interrupteur d’alimentation de la
plaque supérieure.
3. Assurez-vous de l’éteindre quand vous ne
l’utilisez pas.
ATTENTION : La surface
entourant la plaque de maintien
au chaud peut devenir brûlante.
NE la touchez PAS ! Ne chauffez
jamais une verseuse vide sur la
plaque et ne la laissez jamais
devenir sèche.
Protection contre la surchauffe
Cet appareil est équipé d’une protection contre la
surchauffe. Si la température dépasse les niveaux
de sécurité, l’appareil coupe automatiquement le
courant.
Mise en garde !
Si la protection contre la
surchauffe est activée, laissez
refroidir l’appareil et appuyez
sur le bouton REINITIALISER à
l’arrière.
Nettoyage, entretien et
maintenance
Avertissement !
• Eteignez et débranchez
l’appareil de l’alimentation
électrique. Laisser refroidir
suffisamment avant le
nettoyage et l’entretien.
• Avant de nettoyer, déplacer
ou transporter l’appareil,
assurez-vous de vider le
réservoir d’eau.
Vidange du réservoir d’eau
• Il reste toujours une petite quantité d’eau
(environ 0,5 L) dans l’appareil. Ne pas
renverser après utilisation pour évacuer l’eau.
• L’eau restante ne doit être évacuée qu’à
l’aide de la vis de vidange située à l’arrière de
l’appareil.
Vis de vidange
• Resserrez fermement la vis de vidange d’eau.
Avertissement !
NE PAS desserrer la vis de
vidange d’eau pendant le
fonctionnement ou peu de temps
après l’utilisation ! Risque de
brûlures !
Nettoyage
• Utilisez de l’eau savonneuse et un chiffon
humide pour nettoyer l’extérieur de l’appareil.
• Lavez le pot en verre et le panier-filtre avec de
l’eau chaude savonneuse. Rincer ensuite à l’eau
claire
• Bien sécher après le nettoyage.
Mise en garde !
Nettoyez régulièrement l’appareil
et enlevez la chaux. Reportez-
vous aux instructions de la page
