1. Open a web browser on the computer that is
connected to the Internet.
2. Access the download page,
“http://d.buffalo.jp/lgy-pcie-mg/”.
3. Download “LGY-PCIE-MG Driver Installer”.
* The driver is available only when you accept the License
Agreement on the download page.
* If “LGY-PCIE-MG Driver Installer” does not appear on the
download page, select [all] for “OS”. “LGY-PCIE-MG
Driver Installer” will appear.

Download the Driver
Before installing this product onto your computer, download
the driver from the Buffalo website as shown below.
The driver needs to be downloaded on your computer this
product will be installed onto.
If your computer does not connect to the Internet, download
the driver on another computer that is connected to the
Internet, and then copy the driver to your computer using a
storage device such as a USB drive.
If your computer’s PCI express 3.0/2.0 slot is low-profile size,
replace the full-sized slot cover with the included low-profile
slot cover as shown below.
* If the link is not stable, configure the “Link Speed” settings from
the driver’s properties window. For more details, refer to the user
manual available from the Buffalo website.

1. Turn off your computer and all peripheral devices, and
disconnect all cables from your computer.
1. Double-click the file downloaded on the “Download
the Driver” written on the front page.
2. Follow the installer screens.
3. If “Installation Finished” is displayed on the display,
click Restart. The computer will be restarted.
Notes:
- After the installation is finished, “BUFFALO
LGY-PCIE-MG” will be added to “Network Adapter” of
“Device Manager”.
- For how to display “Device Manager”, refer to the
Windows’s help.
2. Remove the computer’s cover. Then, remove the PCI
express slot’s cover.
- Make sure not to lose the removed PCI express slot’s
cover, and the screw removed from the PCI express
slot’s cover. The screw will be used in step 3.
- Clean any dirty or dusty connectors.
3. Insert this product into your computer’s PCI express
3.0/2.0 slot (x4, x8, x16). Then, secure the cover using
the screw removed in step 2.
- Make sure this product is completely inserted into the
PCI express slot.
- Make sure the cables inside the computer are not
touching this product. If touching, this product might
heat the cables while the computer is on. This may
cause a malfunction to occur.
4. Connect the hub or the modem to this product’s LAN
port using the LAN cable.
5. Reconnect all cables and put the cover back on the
computer.
6. Power on the computer.
Installation Install the Driver
More Information
- This product supports PCI Express 2.0 (x4). Install this product
onto the PCI express 3.0/2.0 slot (x4, x8, x16). If installed onto
the x1 slot, the transfer speed will become slow.
- The procedure might differ depending on your computer.
Refer to the computer’s manual as well. If the procedure
differs from this manual, flow the procedure of computer’s
manual.
After installing this product onto your computer, install the
drive to your computer.

(such as fixing the link speed or configuring for Jumbo
Frame) and the product's specifications, refer to the user
