INTRODUCTION
Thi equipment will brew a 1/2 gallon, 1 gallon, 1-1/2 gallon or 1-3/4 gallon batche of coffee into an awaiting
erver at the pu h of a button and include a hot water faucet for allied beverage u e and i de igned to interface
with a BUNN® Grinder. The brewer i pecifically de igned for u e with a BUNN® 1.5 gallon and 1.75 gallon oft
heat erver. It i only for indoor u e on a turdy counter or helf.
WARRANTY
Bunn-O-Matic Corp. (“Bunn”) warrant the equipment manufactured by it to be commercially free from defect
in material and workman hip exi ting at the time of manufacture and appearing within one year from the date of
in tallation. In addition:
1.) Bunn warrant electronic circuit and/or control board to be commercially free from defect in material and
workman hip for two year from the date of in tallation.
2.) Bunn warrant the compre or on refrigeration equipment to be commercially free from defect in material
and workman hip for two year from the date of in tallation.
3.) Bunn warrant that the grinding burr on coffee grinding equipment will grind coffee to meet original factory
creen ieve analy i for three year from date of in tallation or for 30,000 pound of coffee, whichever come fir t.
Thi warranty doe not apply to any equipment, component or part that wa not manufactured by Bunn or that,
in Bunn’ judgement, ha been affected by mi u e, neglect, alteration, improper in tallation or operation, improper
maintenance or repair, damage or ca ualty.
THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IS IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTY, WRITTEN OR
ORAL, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF EITHER
MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. The agent , dealer or employee of Bunn are

The Buyer hall give Bunn prompt notice of any claim to be made under thi warranty by telephone at (217)
529-6601 or by writing to Po t Office Box 3227, Springfield, Illinoi , 62708-3227. If reque ted by Bunn, the Buyer
hall hip the defective equipment prepaid to an authorized Bunn ervice location. If Bunn determine , in it ole
di cretion, that the equipment doe not conform to the warranty, Bunn hall repair the equipment with no charge
for part during the warranty period and no charge for labor by a Bunn Authorized Service Repre entative during
the warranty period. If Bunn determine that repair i not fea ible, Bunn hall, at it ole option, replace the
equipment or refund the purcha e price for the equipment.

Electrical Hook-Up
CAUTION – Improper electrical in tallation will damage electronic component .
1. An electrician mu t provide electrical ervice a pecified.
2. U ing a voltmeter, check the voltage and color coding of each conductor at the electrical ource.
3. Remove the front panel beneath the prayhead and rotate the control thermo tat knob fully counterclockwi e
to the “OFF” po ition.
4. Feed the cord through the train relief and connect it to the terminal block.
5. Connect the brewer to the power ource and verify the voltage at the terminal block before proceeding. Replace
the front panel.
6. If plumbing i to be hooked up later be ure the brewer i di connected from the power ource. If plumbing
ha been hooked up, the brewer i ready for Initial Set-Up.
PLUMBING REQUIREMENTS
Thi brewer mu t be connected to a cold water y tem with operating pre ure between 20 and 90 p i (138
and 620 kPa) from a 1⁄2" or larger upply line. A hut-off valve hould be in talled in the line before the brewer. In tall
a regulator in the line when pre ure i greater than 90 p i (620 kPa) to reduce it to 50 p i (345 kPa). The water
inlet fitting i 1⁄4" flare.
NOTE – Bunn-O-Matic recommend 1⁄4" copper tubing for in tallation of le than 25 feet and 3⁄8" for more than
25 feet from the 1⁄2" water upply line. A tight coil of copper tubing in the water line will facilitate moving the brewer
to clean the countertop. Bunn-O-Matic doe not recommend the u e of a addle valve to in tall the brewer. The
ize and hape of the hole made in the upply line by thi type of device may re trict water flow.
This equipment must be installed to comply with the Basic Plumbing Code of the
Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc. (BOCA)
and the Food Service Sanitation Manual of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Plumbing Hook-Up
1. Flu h the water line and ecurely attach it to the flare fitting or quick di connect fitting located on the bottom
of the brewer.
2. Turn on the water upply.

INITIAL SET-UP
CAUTION – The brewer mu t be di connected from the power ource throughout the initial et-up, except when
pecified in the in truction .
1. Remove the front panel beneath the prayhead and rotate the control thermo tat knob fully counterclockwi e
to the “OFF” po ition.
2. Connect the brewer to the power ource. Water will begin flowing into the tank.
3. When water top flowing into the tank., remove the front panel and proceed a directed and rotate the control
thermo tat knob fully clockwi e to the “ON” po ition and replace the front panel.
4. Wait approximately twenty-five minute on 208V, 240V Model or fifty minute on 120V Model for the water
in the tank to heat to the proper temperature.
5. Place an empty erver beneath the brew tation. Place the Selector witch in the de ired po ition, the On/Off
witch in the upper po ition and initiate a brew cycle. Triple et timer require the etting of each dial
individually. The 5 minute dial i for 1/2 gallon, 8 minute dial i for 1 gallon and the 10 minute dial i for 1-1/
2 or 1-3/4 gallon etting .
6. Place the On/Off witch in the lower “OFF” po ition after water ha topped flowing from the funnel, and check
the water volume in the erver. It hould be 64 oz -1/2 gallon, 128 oz - 1 gallon, 192 oz - 1-1/2 gallon or 224
oz - 1-3/4 gallon.
7. (A) If not, adju t the timer a required. Refer to Adju ting Brew Volume .
(B) If nece ary adju t the needle valve to achieve water volume to be bypa ed around the coffee filter in the
funnel.
NOTE To increa e the water bypa turn the needle valve counterclockwi e, to decrea e the water bypa turn
the needle valve clockwi e. An adju tment to the needle valve will require a timer adju tment for volume of 1,
1-1/2 or 1-3/4 gallon.
8. Repeat tep 7 until the proper water volume i achieved.
9. The brewer i now ready for u e in accordance with the coffee brewing in truction .

ADJUSTING BREW VOLUMES
CAUTION - Di connect the power ource from the brewer prior to the removal of any panel for the replacement
or adju tment of any component.
NOTE Prior to etting or modifying batch ize , check that the brewer i connected to water upply, the tank i
properly filled, and a funnel and erver are in place.
1. Modifying batch sizes. To modify a batch volume, fir t check that the SET/LOCK witch i in the “SET”
po ition on the circuit board.
To increase a batch size. Pre and hold the START or BREW witch until three click are heard. Relea e the
witch (Failure to relea e the witch within two econd after the third click cau e the volume etting to be
aborted and previou volume etting will remain in memory) and pre it again one or more time . Each time
the witch i pre ed, two econd are added to the brew time period. Allow the brew cycle to fini h in order
to verify that the de ired volume ha been achieved.
To decrease a batch size. Pre and relea e the START or BREW witch once for every two- econd interval
to be removed from the total brew time period; then immediately pre and hold down the START or BREW
witch until three click are heard. Relea e the witch. (Failure to relea e the witch within two econd after
the third click cau e the volume etting to be aborted and previou volume etting will remain in memory).
Allow the brew cycle to fini h in order to verify that the de ired volume ha been achieved.
2. Setting batch sizes. To et a batch volume, fir t check that the SET/LOCK witch i in the “SET” po ition on
the circuit board. Pre and hold the START or BREW witch until three di tinct click are heard, and then
relea e the witch. (Failure to relea e the witch within two econd after the third click cau e the volume
etting to be aborted and previou volume etting will remain in memory). View the level of the liquid being
di pen ed. When the de ired level i reached, turn the ON/OFF witch to “OFF” (lower). The brewer remem-
ber thi volume and will continue to brew batche of thi ize until the volume etting procedure i repeated.
NOTE When brewing coffee, batch volume will decrea e due to ab orption by the coffee ground .
3. Setting programming disable feature. If it become nece ary to prevent anyone from changing brew time
once programmed, you can et the SET/LOCK witch to the “LOCK” po ition. Thi will prevent any program-
ming to be done until witch i once again placed in the “SET” po ition.

OPERATING CONTROLS
BREW SELECTOR SWITCH
Placing the witch in the 1/2 gallon, 1 gallon, 1-1/2 or 1-3/4 gallon po ition elect the amount of coffee to be
brewed in ub equent brew cycle . Repo itioning thi witch after a brew cycle ha been initiated doe not change
the brew batch in progre .
ON/OFF SWITCH
Placing the witch in the unlighted lower po ition cut power to the timer and top brewing. Stopping a brew
cycle after it ha been tarted will not top the flow of water from the funnel. Placing the witch in the lighted upper
po ition upplie power to the timer and enable the brew circuit.
START SWITCH
Momentarily pre ing and relea ing thi witch tart a brew cycle when the On/Off witch i in the lighted
upper po ition.
NOTE The On/Off witch mu t be in the lighted upper po ition to initiate and complete a brew cycle.
COFFEE BREWING
1. Select the de ired batch ize.
2. In ert a BUNN® filter into the funnel.
3. Pour the proper amount of fre h coffee into the filter and level the bed of ground by gently haking.
4. Slide the funnel into the funnel rail .
5. Place an empty erver under the funnel.
6 Place the On/Off witch in the lighted upper po ition. Momentarily pre and relea e the tart witch.
7. When brewing i completed, imply di card the ground and filter.
CLEANING
1. The u e of a damp cloth rin ed in any mild, non-abra ive, liquid detergent i recommended for cleaning all
urface on Bunn-O-Matic equipment.
2. Check and clean the prayhead. The prayhead hole mu t alway remain open.
NOTE – In hard water area , thi may need to be done daily. It will help prevent liming problem in the brewer and
take le than a minute.

TROUBLESHOOTING
A trouble hooting guide i provided to ugge t probable cau e and remedie for the mo t likely problem
encountered. If the problem remain after exhau ting the trouble hooting tep , contact the Bunn-O-Matic
Technical Service Department.
• In pection, te ting, and repair of electrical equipment hould be performed only by qualified ervice
per onnel.
• All electronic component have 120 - 240 volt ac and low voltage dc potential on their terminal .
Shorting of terminal or the application of external voltage may re ult in board failure.
• Intermittent operation of electronic circuit board i unlikely. Board failure will normally be
permanent. If an intermittent condition i encountered, the cau e will likely be a witch contact or
a loo e connection at a terminal or crimp.
• Solenoid removal require interrupting the water upply to the valve. Damage may re ult if
olenoid are energized for more than ten minute without a upply of water.
• The u e of two wrenche i recommended whenever plumbing fitting are tightened or loo ened.
Thi will help avoid twi t and kink in the tubing.
• Make certain that all plumbing connection are ealed and electrical connection tight and i olated.
• Thi brewer i heated at all time . Keep away from combu tible .

SERVICE (cont.)
BYPASS VALVE
Location:
The bypa valve i located in ide the right front
of the hood.
Te t Procedure :
1. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
Place a erver beneath the brewing funnel.
2. Check the water level in the tank to confirm that it
i within 1/2" from the top of the tank.
3. Connect the brewer to the power ource.
4. Check the bypa valve for coil action. Place the
ON/OFF witch in the "ON" po ition, pre and
relea e the BREW witch. Li ten carefully in the
vicinity of the bypa valve for a "clicking" ound a
the coil magnet attract and repel the plunger.
5. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
If the ound i heard a de cribed, there may be a
blockage in the bypa valve or the water line to the
prayhead. Remove the bypa valve and in pect for
wear, and remove waterborne particle .
If the ound i not heard a de cribed, proceed to #6.
6. Connect the voltmeter lead end to the di pen e
valve coil terminal . Connect the brewer to the
power ource. With the elector witch in the 1.5
or 1.75 gallon po ition, place "ON/OFF" Switch in
the "ON" po ition. Pre and relea e the brew
witch. The indication mu t be:

7. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
If voltage i pre ent a de cribed, but no coil action i
ob erved, nor "clicking" heard, bypa valve i defec-
tive. Replace valve and te t again to verify repair.
If voltage i not pre ent a de cribed, refer to Wiring
Diagram and check the brewer wiring harne . Al o
check the control board for proper operation. See
Page 23 through 27.
Removal and Replacement:
1. Remove the wire from the bypa valve.
2. Drain enough water from the tank o bypa valve
i above the water level.
3. Remove water line from valve.
4. Remove two nut retaining bypa valve in ide the
hood and remove bypa valve.
5. Remove ho e barb fitting and attach to new by-
pa valve.
6. In tall new bypa valve with ho e barb fitting.
7. Reconnect the water tube and the wire to the
bypa valve.
8. Refer to Fig. 3 when reconnecting the wire .

BREW SELECTOR SWITCH
Location:
The brew elector witch i located in the front
right ide of the hood.
Te t Procedure:
Timer:
1. Di connect the brewer from the power upply.
2. Separate the connector on the elector witch
harne from the brew timer circuit board.
3. Carefully lide the pla tic cover off of the con-
necter from the witch harne .
4. Check for continuity acro the pink and tan wire
on the connector when the witch i in the 1/2
gallon po ition. Continuity mu t not be pre ent in
any other witch po ition.
5. Check for continuity acro the pink wire and gray
wire when the witch i in the 1 gallon po ition.
Continuity mu t not be pre ent in any other po i-
tion.
6. Reattach the connector to the brew timer circuit
board.
Grinder Interface:
7. Di connect the pink, gray and tan wire on the
elector witch from the pink, gray and tan wire
on the interface ocket.
8. Check for continuity acro the pink wire and tan
wire on the elector witch when the witch i in
the 1/2 gallon po ition. Continuity mu t not be
pre ent in any other po ition.
9. Check for continuity acro the pink wire and gray
wire on the elector witch when the witch i in
the 1 gallon po ition. Continuity mu t not be
pre ent in any other po ition.
10. Reconnect the pink, gray and tan wire on the
elector witch to the pink, gray and tan wire on
the interface.
Bypa Valve:
11. Di connect the white/violet wire on the elector
witch from the bypa valve coil and di connect
the white/red wire from the di pen e valve coil.
12. Attach an ohmmeter acro white/violet and white/
red wire . When the elector i in the mall batch
po ition, continuity hould not be pre ent. When
the elector i in the medium or large batch po i-
tion , continuity hould be pre ent
13. Reconnect the white/violet wire to the bypa
valve coil and the white/red wire to the di pen e
valve coil.

Removal and Replacement:
1. Di connect the connector on the elector witch
harne from the brewer timer circuit board.
2. Di connect wire from the elector witch, inter-
face ocket, di pen e valve and bypa valve.
3. Loo en the et crew on the witch knob.
4. Remove the 9/16" nut and wa her holding the
witch to the hood.
5. Remove the witch.
6. In tall the new witch. The po itioning tab mu t be
in the hole in the hood for proper witch and knob
alignment.
7. In tall the knob o that the arrow line up in the 1-
1/2 or 1-3/4 gallon po ition when the witch i
turned to the full right po ition.
8. Reattach the connector to the brew timer circuit
board.
9. Refer to Fig. 5 when reconnecting the wire .

CIRCUIT BREAKERS
Location
The circuit breaker i located on the lower front of
the brewer mounted on the erver platform ju t above
the pring contact receptacle a embly.
Te t Procedure :
1. Di connect the di pen er from the power ource.
2. Remove the wire from the circuit breaker.
3. Check for continuity between the terminal . Con-
tinuity mu t be pre ent between the terminal .
If continuity i pre ent a de cribed the circuit breaker
i functioning properly.
If continuity i not pre ent a de cribed, pre re et
button and repeat tep #3, if continuity i not pre ent
a de cribed, replace the circuit breaker.

Removal and Replacement:
1. Remove the wire from the circuit breaker.
2. Compre the clip on the back ide of the erver
platform and gently pu h the circuit breaker through
the opening in the erver platform.
3. Pu h the new circuit breaker into the opening in
the erver platform until the clip nap into po i-
tion.
4. Reconnect the wire to the circuit breaker.
5. Refer to Fig. 7 when reconnecting the wire .

The limit thermo tat i located in ide the hood on
the tank lid ju t to the left of the tank heater.
Te t Procedure:
1. Di connect the brewer from the power upply.
2. Di connect both black wire from the limit ther-
mo tat.
3. Check for continuity acro the limit thermo tat
terminal with a ohmmeter.
If continuity i pre ent a de cribed, reconnect the
black wire to the limit thermo tat , the limit thermo-
tat i operating properly.
If continuity i not pre ent a de cribed, pre the
re et button on the limit thermo tat and repeat tep
#3.
After repeating tep #3 and no continuity i hown,
replace the limit thermo tat.

LIMIT THERMOSTAT
Removal and Replacement:
1. Remove all wire from the limit thermo tat termi-
nal .
2. Carefully remove the two #8-32 nut ecuring the
limit thermo tat to tank lid and remove limit ther-
mo tat.
3. Carefully ecure new limit thermo tat to tank lid.
4. Refer to Fig. 9 when reconnecting the wire .

CONTACTOR ASSEMBLY
Location:
The contactor a embly i located in ide the hood
ju t behind the di pen e valve.
Te t Procedure :
1. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
2. Di connect the white wire of the two pole 120V
terminal block, white wire of the three pole 120/
208V or 120/240V or the red wire of the two pole
200V or 240V terminal block and the black wire of
the contactor coil and di connect the blue wire of
the control thermo tat from the remaining black
wire of the contactor coil.
3. Gently remove the capillary bulb and grommet
from the tank.
4. With a voltmeter, check the voltage acro the
white wire from the terminal block on 120,120/
208, 120/240 volt unit or the red wire from 200,
240 volt unit and the black wire from the control
thermo tat when the thermo tat i turned clock-
wi e to the "FULL ON" po ition. Connect the brewer
to the power ource. The indication mu t be:
a.) 120 volt ac for two wire 120 volt model , three
wire 120/208 volt model and three wire 120/240
volt model .
b.) 200 to 240 volt ac for two wire 200, 230 or 240
volt model .
5. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
If voltage i pre ent a de cribed, proceed to #6.
If voltage i not pre ent a de cribed, refer to the
wiring diagram and check the brewer wiring harne .
6. Check for continuity between the two black wire
of the contactor coil.
If continuity i pre ent a de cribed, reconnect one
black wire to the white wire or red wire from the
terminal block and the other black wire to the black
wire from the control thermo tat. Rein tall capillary
tube into tank to line 7" above the bulb and proceed to
#7.
If continuity i not pre ent a de cribed, replace the
contactor.
7. Locate the white wire or red wire on L1 terminal
and black wire on the L2 terminal on the contactor.
8. Carefully check the voltage acro the white or red
and black wire with a voltmeter. The indication
mu t be:
a.) 120 volt ac for two wire 120 volt model , 208
volt ac for three wire 120/208 volt model and
240 volt ac for three wire 20/240 volt model .
b.) 200 to 240 volt ac for two wire 200, 230 or 240
volt model .
9. Di connect the brewer from the power ource.
If voltage i pre ent a de cribed, proceed to #10.
If voltage i not pre ent a de cribed, refer to the
wiring diagram and check the brewer wiring harne .
10. Check for continuity acro the terminal on the
left ide of the contactor by manually clo ing the
contact . Continuity mu t not be pre ent when the
contact i relea ed.
11. Check for continuity acro the terminal on the
right ide of the contactor by manually clo ing the
contact . Continuity mu t not be pre ent when the
contact i relea ed.
