1.2.Requirements to boiler installaon
room
Installaon of a Burnit wood or pellet
boilerandhoppermustbeinaccordance
thefollowingrecommendaon:
•Naonal Building Regulaons and any
localByelawswhichyoumustcheckwith
thelocalauthorityforthearea.
•Model and local Water Undertaking
Byelaws.
The installaon should also be in
accordancewiththelatestedionofthe
followingstandardsandcodesofPracce;

This manual contains important
informaon for the safe and correct
installaon, start-up and trouble-free
operaonandmaintenanceoftheheang
boiler.
Theheangboilercanbeusedforheang
rooms only in the manner described in
thismanual.
Takenote oftheboilertypeinformaon
indicated on the factory scker and the
technical data provided in chapter 11 in
order to ensure proper operaon of the
product.
1.2.1.Instruconstoboilerinstaller
During installaon and operaon, the
country-specic requirements and
regulaonsmustbeobserved:
• local construcon regulaons on
installaon, air supply and exhaust
gas extracon as well as chimney
connecon.
• regulaons and norms concerning the
ng of the heang installaon with
safetydevices.

DANGER of intoxication,
suffocation.
Inadequate inflow of fresh air
to the boiler room may result in
dangerous leak of exhaust gases
during boiler operation.
- Make sure the air inlets and
exhaust gas outlets are not
clogged or closed.
- If faults are not remedied
immediately, the boiler must
not be operated, and the user
must be provided with written
instructions on the fault and the
hazard it entails.

DANGER of fire when burning
flammable materials or liquids.
- Flammable materials/liquids
must not be left in close
proximity of the heating boiler.
- Instruct system user of the
allowed minimum clearances
from surrounding objects.

DANGER of intoxication or

Toxic gases may be discharged
when burning waste, plastics,
liquids.
- Use only the fuels indicated in
this manual.
- In case of danger of explosion,
ignition or discharge of exhaust
gases in the room, stop the
heating boiler from operation.

CAUTION! Danger of injury
/ damage of system due to
incompetent operation.
- The heating boiler must be
serviced only by persons familiar
with the operation manual.
- As a user, you are only allowed
to start the boiler up, adjust the
temperature of the boiler, shut
the boiler down and clean it.
- Unattended children must not
be allowed access to premises
with running pellet burner
inside.
Safetyrulesforuseroperaon:
-Operatetheheangboileratamaximum
temperature of 85°C, and to that end
you must regularly inspect the boiler
room.
-Donotuseammableliquidsforignion
orincreasethereorincreaseboiler’s
output.
-Collect ash in lid-covered reproof
containers.
-Clean the heang boiler surface using
non-ammableagentsonly.
-Donotplaceammableobjectsontothe
heang boiler or in its proximity. (see
diagram1fortheminimumclearances)
-Donotstoreammablematerialsinthe
boilerroom.

2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TheWBSboilerisdesignedforringsolid
fuel-rewoodorClassBwoodbriquees.
Designedtosasfytheheangdemands
ofmediumtolargesizedspaces.Theyare
engineeredforburningsolidfuelonlyand
provide the opon for ng pellet-red
burners.
ThisappliancecomplieswithEN303-5.
•Design. Boiler body is made of high-
qualityboilersteelsheetswiththickness
of 5 mm for the combuson chamber
and3mmforthewatermantle.
•Convenonal.Anentry-levelwoodring
boiler with basic operaon and low
operaoncost.
The combuson is controlled by
thermostac dra regulator, which is a
fullymechanicaldeviceboasngulmate
reliability. It controls the intensity of
combuson by altering the ow of air
intake.
•Ecient.Theuegasmakesathree-pass
movement around three water-lled
barriers in  the combuson chamber
onitswaytothechimney.Thiswaythe
gasiscoolwhenitleavestheboilerand
its energy has been transferred to the
waterinthe mantle. Thewatermantle
embraces the combuson chamber
in full to ulize the emied heat most
eciently.Tokeepfromlosingheatinto
theambience,theboilerisinsulatedon
theoutsideby50mmhigh-temperature
wool.
•Reliable and safe.Theheatexchanging
tubulargrillisprotectedbyareplaceable
metalgrate.Acomplexofsafetydevices
provideforthesafetyoftheappliance.

3. FUELS
Theheangboilercanulizeonlynatural
and untreated wood. Pressed fuels and
briqueescontainingonlywoodmayalso
beused.Loglengthshouldbeupto330
mm ÷ 500 mm. Fuel moisture content
mustnotexceed20%.
For maximum ulizaon of the wood
heang value we recommend to use
wood which has dried over a period of
1.5-2years.Highmoisturecontentofthe
wooddecreasesitsheangvaluewhichin
turnreducesboileroutput.

4. TRANSPORTATION OF THE BOILER
Werecommendtotransporttheheang
boiler to the installaon site in its
packaging placed on the pallet. During
transport and installaon, depending on
theweight,appropriatesafetyequipment
mustbeusedinaccordancewithDirecve
2006/42/EC.
Whentransporng itemsweighingmore
than 30 kg, the use of pallet jack, fork
truckorotherhoisngdevicesisamust.
The boiler body and boiler housing are
packseparately.Theboilerhousinghasto
bemountwhentheboilerbodyisplaced
intotheboilerroom.

Important:Wheninstallingthe
boiler, the wooden pallet onto
which the boiler is placed must
beremovedbyunscrewingthe
bolted connections using flat
ringwrenchS13.

6. INSTALLATION OF THE HEATING
BOILER

The assembly, installaon and
setup of boiler must be per-
formed by a technician autho-
rizedforsuchoperaons.
Installer must indicate to the
useroftheinstallaonthemini-
mum clearances from amma-
ble materials and liquids.
6.1. Requirements:
- Thevenlaonareaprovidedmust
beinaccordancewiththerequirements
of The Building Regulaons Approved
Document J – Secon 2: Appliances
burningsolidfuel.
- Foraboilerwith adraughtstabilizer,
apermanentairventwithatotalfree
area of at least 850mm2 per kW of
applianceratedoutput isrequired.To
achieve this, the following minimum
ventopeningareasarerequired.

7. SETUP OF THE HEATING BOILER
7.1.PipeworkMaterials
Burnit boilers are compable with both
copper and plasc pipe. Where Plasc
pipe is used it must be of the oxygen
barrier type and be the correct class (to
BS7291:Part1:2001)fortheapplicaon
concerned.
Oneithersealedoropen-ventedsystems;
where plasc pipe is used a minimum
of ONE meter of copper pipe MUST be
connectedbetweenboththeboilerow
and return connecons and the plasc
pipe.
DO NOT CONNECT PLASTIC PIPE DIRECTLY
TO THE BOILER.
We do not accept any responsibility for
any damage, however caused, to plasc
pipingorngs.
SealedSystems
Ifplascpipeis tobeused, theinstaller
must check with the plasc pipe
manufacturer that the pipe to be used
is suitable for the temperature and
pressuresconcerned.Plascpipemustbe
ClassStoBS7291:Part1:2001.
7.2.Connecngtheboilertoachimney
• The ue terminal should be located in
a downdraught free area, i.e. above the
roof,whereitcandischargefreelyandnot
present a rehazardwhatever the wind
condions.
• The ue outlet posions shown in the
diagram(takenfromApprovedDocument
J – Secon 2) can meet the above
requirement.
•The heights and separaon distances
shown in the diagram may have to be
increased in parcular cases, e.g. where
high wind exposure, surrounding tall
buildings, or adjacent trees can cause
adversewindeects.
• The boiler ue cannot terminate into
an exisng brick or clay lined chimney.
Allmasonryuesmustbelinedusingthe
stainlesssteelexibleueliner.
•Nootherappliancecanbeconnectedto
theboilerline.
• The minimum clearance between the
outer ue surface and any combusble
materialis60mm.
•Anycondensateintheuecanrunback
intotheboiler.Acondensatedrainatthe
baseoftheuesystemisnotrequired.
The above clearances are as specied in
BuildingRegulaonsApprovedDocument
J. Also refer to Approved Document
J of either the England and Wales or
Irish building regulaons for further
requirements on the installaon of ue
systemsforsolidfuelappliances.

Data in the tables are for
indicative purposes.
Draught depends on the
diameter, height, uneven
sections along the chimney
surface and differences in
temperature of combustion
products and outside air.
We recommend that you
use chimney fitted with flue
terminal. Heating specialist
mustcalculatetheprecisesizing
ofthechimney.

7.3. Connecng the thermostac dra
regulator-airowregulator
Removetheleverandboltandghtthe
thermostac regulator to the boiler as
showninthediagram.Connectthechain
toregulatorleverandtoboomdoorap.
Adjusttheap(diagram 5).(see9.2.).
7.4.Connecngthesafetyheatexchanger
Such connecon must be per-
formedbyatechnician/service
shop authorized for such opera-
ons.
The heang boiler is equipped with
safetyheatexchanger(coolingcircuit).It
connects to the water system through a
thermostacvalve.Incaseofoverheang,
thethermostacvalvefeedsincoldwater
from the water mains which passes
throughtheheatexchangerandabsorbs
theheatin the boiler.Thewateris then
discharged into the sewage system. This
arrangement ensures safe evacuaon
of the excess heat without the need for
addional energy. This guarantees that
thewaterintheboilerwillnotexceedthe
maximumsafelevelof95°C.
The minimum operang pressure of the
coolingwaterinthesafetyheatexchanger
mustbe1bar.
Dischargeowrateat110oCandΔp1bar.
upto3000l\h.
Connect the safety heat exchanger
accordingtothehydraulicdiagramusing
thermostac valve. Install a lter on the
inletbeforethethermostacvalve.
The inner diameter of the chimney
dependsonitsrealheightandthepower
capacityoftheboiler(seediagram4).

Thetemperaturesafetyreliefvalveslimit
the temperature of water in mulfuel
or solid fuel boilers with either a boiler
incorporated or an emergency heat
exchanger.ItsuseisspeciedbyI.S.P.E.S.L.
regulaons(collecon“R”,issuedin2005,
chapterR.3.C,paragraph1,pointG2).The
valve complies with BS EN 14597. It can
be coupeled with solid fuel generators
(withthermalpowerlowerthan100kW)
used according to system prescripons
bystandartsBSEN12828,BSEN10412-2
andBSEN303-5.
7.5.Connecngtheboilertotheheang
installaon.
Such connecon must be
performed by a technician /
service shop authorized for such
operaons.
Sealedsystemrequirements
All Burnit boilers are suitable for use
with sealed systems complying with the
requirementsofBS5449.
Diaphragm expansion vessel complying
withBS4814.
Ensurethattheexpansionvesselusedis
ofsucientsizeforthesystemvolume.
RefertoBS7074:1:1989orThedomesc
Heang design Guide for sizing the
requiredvessel.
The pressure relief valve (provided with
the boiler) is set to operate at 3 bar. It
shouldbeedintheowpipeworknear
totheboiler.
Thepipeworkbetweenthepressurerelief
valveandboilermustbeunrestricted,i.e.
novalves.Thepressurereliefvalveshould
beconnectedtoa dischargetobeseen,
but cannot cause injury to persons or
property.
Allngsinthesystemmustbeableto
withstandpressuresupto3bar.Radiator
valvesmustcomplywiththerequirements
ofBS2767(10):1972.
Oneormoredraintaps(toBS2879)
mustbeusedtoallowthesystemtobe
completelydrained.

It is mandatory to install a three-
wayvalve(Laddomatorsimilar)or
a four-way mixing valve which to
ensure that the temperature of the
heangmediumfedintotheboiler
from the heang installaon is at
least65°С.
7.6. Carbon Monoxide Alarm
The Building Regulaons Approved
DocumentJrequiresaCarbonMonoxide
alarmtobeedintheroomwherethe
boilerislocated.
Thisshouldbeposionedbetween1and
3mhorizontallyfromtheboilereither:
a)ontheceilingatleast300mmfromany
wall,or
b)onawallashighupaspossible(above
any windows of doors) at least 150mm
fromceiling.

3. Ensure that the heating installation, including
the piping network, has been built frost-proof. Use
of a liquid which has low freezing point, corrosion
protectionandantifreezeagentispermited.

8. FILLING THE HEATING INSTALLATION

9. BOILER OPERATION
9.1.Loadingandigniontheboiler
Whenigniontheboilerfortherstme,
a condensate is formed which is later
drained(thisisnotafaultintheboiler).
Fuelisloadedinthecombusonchamber
and it is recommended to load logs of
lengthequaltothecombusonchamber
length and stack them ght inside with
leastpossibleairgaps.Thechamberdoor
aswellasallinspeconopeningsmustbe
closedandsealed.Openthethermostac
draregulatorandchimneyaptoignite
theboiler.Whenboilertemperaturereach
85°С, adjust intake air by the chimney
ap and boiler air-intake door ap. The
posion of boiler air-intake door ap
adjustbythermostacdraregulator.
When burning wood with moisture
contentmorethan20%,resultsin:
-signicantlyincreasesfuelconsumpon;
-notreachthedesiredpower;
-lifemeoftheboilerandchimneyfall.

Do not open the ue damper
duringboileroperaon!
Maintain operang
temperature between 80° C
and 90° C.
9.2. Adjust the boiler combuson by
thermostacdraregulator
Adjusng. Heat the boiler up to 80°С.
Control valve is placed in a posion to
meet the temperature reading on the
thermometer. Red numbers and red
indicator point are valid for vercal
mounng.
Thermostacregulatortest.Throughthe
control valvesettemperaturereadingof
thermometerintheboiler.Theapmust
be close whet the temperature reach
95°С.
