Allow for adequate ventilation
Away from water/moisture/high humidity, heat/direct sunlight, and dust
Operating temperature: 10 to 40ºC(50 to 104ºF)
Storage temperature: -20 to 60ºC (-4 to 140ºF)
Shipping temperature: -40 to 65ºC (-40 to 149ºF)
Operating humidity: 20 to 80 percent (non-condensing)
Storage humidity: 5 to 95 percent (non-condensing)
Notes:
The unit draws 40 watts (maximum) from a 100 to 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz outlet. The unit
draws 1.5 amps (maximum) from the included 24 VDC power supply.
Each unit must be operated with Burroughs power adaptor 75-0860-917 and no other.
Caution
The SmartSource Edge may be susceptible to “burst” or “electrical fast transient” (EFT)
noise entering the unit through the power cord. These types of noise signals are caused
by large electrical equipment (such as heating and cooling units) connected to nearby
electrical outlets. Burst or EFT noise may cause the SmartSource Edge to stop
functioning. The operator must restart the SmartSource Edge and its application(s).
If this occurs,
Plug the SmartSource Edge Power Supply into an electrical outlet on a different branch of
the power distribution system where large electrical equipment is not connected to nearby
outlets.
Plug the SmartSource Edge Power Supply into a line conditioning device or an
uninterruptible power source.

Resolving Problems During Check/Card Processing
Stopped Paper/Card in Track
If an item stops in the track, it must be removed from the track before items can flow again.
Note: When this happens, you must check your application documentation for information
on clearing stopped paper/cards and the necessary recovery steps.
Prepare paper properly to prevent or minimize paper stops in the track. See “Prepare Paper
for Flow” earlier in this section.
If there are repeated problems with paper moving through the track, see Section 5 of this
guide, “Jams or Unexpected Paper Stops.”
Clearing Stopped Paper/Card in Track
If an item stops in the track , press and hold down the Feed button for three seconds to move
the paper/card through the track. Check your application documentation for information about
refeeding the item that was cleared.
If Paper/Card remains in the track after holding down the Feed button, you must manually
remove the paper/card from the track. You should be able to remove the stopped items without
removing the covers.
