Important - Please read these instructions fully before
installing or operating
Power source
• Disconnect your Kids Boombox from the mains power supply during thunderstorms.
• Always check that you have completely switched off your Kids Boombox, before you
change or disconnect the power supply.
• Only use the power supply that came with the product. Using an unauthorised power
supply will invalidate your guarantee and may irrecoverably damage the product.
• Where the mains power plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect
device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
• Do NOT attempt to open the product. This product does not contain any user
serviceable parts. Unauthorised handling of the device may damage it and will void
your warranty.
• Do NOT use your Kids Boombox near emergency/intensive care medical equipment
or during an electrical storm.
Moisture and water
• Keep it dry. Avoid exposure to precipitation, humidity and liquids which could all affect
the product circuitry.
• Do NOT leave it in low temperatures as moisture can form inside the product, which
may damage the circuit board.
Heat source and flames
• Do NOT leave it in high temperatures as electronic devices and plastic parts may warp
in heat.
• Do NOT block or cover slots, holes or openings on the product by placing on soft
furnishings such as carpets, rugs or beds as these are provided for functionality and/or
ventilation to ensure safe operation of the product
• Never place any type of candle or naked flame on top of, or near the product.

CD compartment
Caution
This is a CLASS-1 laser product. Use of controls or adjustments other than
those specified herein, may result in hazardous laser light beam exposure. Do
NOT open the cover and do NOT repair yourself. Refer servicing to qualified
personnel.
Caution
Never touch or look into the optical lens within the CD compartment.
• Do NOT place foreign objects into the CD compartment.
• The underneath and sides of this product may become warm after a long period of
use. This is normal.
• If the Kids Boombox will not be used for a long period of time, remove the CD and
make sure that the mains power is unplugged.
General safety information
This product is not suitable for children under 36 months. Small parts. Choking
hazard.
• Keep the product and all its parts out of reach of small children.
• This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
• Do NOT store in dusty or dirty areas.
• Do NOT use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or detergents to clean the product.
Wipe with a damp (not wet) soft cloth to clean.
Caution:
To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen to this boombox at high
volume levels for long periods of time.

Battery information
• 6 x 1.5V C-size (also known as LR-14 and UM-2) batteries should be used
• Non-rechargeable batteries are NOT to be recharged.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from this product before being charged.
• Rechargeable batteries should only be charged under adult supervision.
• Do NOT mix different types of batteries or new and used batteries.
• Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
• Exausted batteries must be removed from the product.
• Supply terminals should not be short circuted.

Power connection
1. Open the CD compartment (on the front edge, where there is a scooped recess), and
remove the cardboard shipping protector. Close the CD lid.
2. Plug the power cable into the socket on the back of the boombox and plug the mains
power plug into the mains power wall socket and switch on
3. Fully extend the telescopic radio aerial on the back of the boombox to receive the best
possible radio reception and sound quality.
Power connection / Inserting batteries (optional)
Before inserting the batteries (not included), please ensure that the boombox is switched
off (slide the switch on the left hand side of the Boombox to ‘Off’) and is unplugged from
the mains power supply.
1. Underneath the boombox, press in the two battery compartment tabs and pull up to
remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert 6 x 1.5V C-size (also known as LR-14 and UM-2) batteries, making sure to note
the ‘+’ and ‘-’ markings and position the batteries the correct way around.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover, making sure that it ‘clicks’ home.
Note: When the battery power is low, you will notice that the audio quality will be
a little distorted and the volume will be quieter. Please switch off the boombox and
replace the batteries.
Power on
1. Slide the side switch on the left hand side of the boombox to FM or CD. The red
power LED to the left of the display will turn on.

Adjusting the volume
Turn the rotary volume control on the left hand side of the boombox away from you to
increase the volume and towards you to decrease the volume.
Note: Always keep the volume within reasonable limits.
Using headphones
You can connect headphones with a 3.5mm plug (not included) to the socket on the
left hand side of the boombox. When you have headphones connected the boombox
speakers are switched off and all sound is via the headphones.

Using the microphone
You can connect the Microphone supplied to the 3.5mm Mic socket on the right hand
side of the boombox.
The microphone can be used in both FM radio and CD mode, just slide the mode switch
on the left hand side of the boombox to either FM or CD and use the tuning wheel to
tune to an FM radio station or play an audio CD.
Switch the microphone on using the ON/OFF switch. The microphone is now ready for
use.
Note: The microphone volume is fixed and cannot be adjusted using the volume
control on the kids boombox.
Note: Do not hold the microphone too close to your mouth. Pointing the microphone
towards the kids boombox may lead to some sound distortion.

Let’s get started
Using the CD player
Note: Please make sure that you remove the cardboard shipping protector from within
the CD compartment before you try to use CD player.
CD mode
Check that your kids boombox is in CD mode. If you are not already in CD mode, slide the
side switch on the left hand side of the boombox to CD. The display will show a flashing
‘- -’ while it scans for CD tracks. If there is a CD in the compartment, after a short delay the
first track will begin to play, or ‘No’ will be displayed if the CD compartment is empty.
Play a CD
Your boombox will play Audio CDs as well as the following CD types:
CD-Recordable (CD-R)
CD-Rewritable (CD-RW)
It is not possible to play DVD or computer CDs.
1. Open the lid of the CD player on the front right edge, where there is a scooped recess.
‘00’ will be displayed.
2. Place an audio CD, label side up, into the CD compartment. Please ensure that you
line up the hole in the centre of the CD, with the central spindle and press down into
place.
3. Close the lid of the CD player, ‘- -’ will be displayed and after a short delay the first
track will begin to play.
Note: If there is no CD in the compartment, ‘No’will be displayed.

CD controls
You can use the following controls on your boombox in CD mode.
• Play
Press and release the Play/Pause button on the boombox. The track will begin to
play and the track number will be displayed.
• Pause
Press and release the Play/Pause button. A red dot will flash in the bottom of the
display.at the same time as the current track number is displayed. Press and release the
Play/Pause button again to continue to play the track/CD.
• Skip
Press and release the Skip button.
• Previous track:
Press and release the Skip button.
• Fast forward within a track:
Press and hold the Skip button.
• Fast backward within a track:
Press and hold the Skip button.
• Stop
Press and release the Stop button. The CD will stop and the total number of tracks
on the CD will be displayed.
Programmed play mode
In programmed play mode, you can program the play order of the tracks on your CD. You
can program up to 20 tracks in total.
Note: To set up programmed play mode, the CD must be stopped in the CD
compartment and must not be paused or playing.

In CD mode, with the CD you wish to programme in the CD compartment and stopped:
1. If the CD is playing press Stop to stop.
2. Press and release the Program button, ‘01’ flashes in the display.
3. Use the Skip or Skip buttons to go to the track number that you would like to
program to play first. Press and release the Program button to confirm.
4. ‘02’ will now be flash in the display and you can select the second track that you
would like to programme. Continue to select each track as in Steps 2 and 3 above, up
to a total of 20 tracks.
5. Press and release the Program button twice after your final selection, to confirm the
last track in the programmed play list. Your boombox will display the numbers of the
tracks in the order that they have been saved into the programmed play list.
6. Press and release the Play/Pause button on the boombox to play the programmed
tracks.
7. To exit programmed play mode, press and release the Stop button twice.
Repeat mode
You can select to repeat a single track or all of the tracks on the CD or in the saved
programmed play list.
Repeat current track only.
• Press and release the Repeat button once whilst a track is playing, a red dot will
appear after the track number and will flash in the display.
Repeat all tracks.
• Press and release the Repeat button a second time, the red dot after the track
number will remain steady on.
Cancel repeat.
• Press and release the Repeat button a third time to switch off repeat mode.
