Electronic Intelligent Key
Electronic intelligent key –By pressing the left/right front door microswitch while carrying the
electronic intelligent key with you, you can unlock/lock all doors. You can also operate
buttons on the intelligent key.
LOCK: lock the doors
UNLOCK: unlock the doors
OPEN: open the trunk lid
START/STOP: start/stop the vehicle
Indicator
Slide-out Intelligent Key
Slide-out intelligent key –you can unlock/lock all doors through press the micro-switch. By
operating buttons on the intelligent key, you can also unlock/lock doors, open the trunk lid,
and implement remote control driving function.
1. LOCK: lock the doors
2. UNLOCK: unlock the doors
3. FORWARD: drive forward
4. RIGHT: turn right
5. REVERSE: drive backward
6. LEFT: turn left
7. START/STOP: start/stop the vehicle
8. OPEN: open the trunk lid

Mechanical Key
Mechanical key (in the electronic intelligent key and slide-out intelligent key) –It can be used
to unlock/lock the driver's door.

Pull the lock-up button to unlock, pull out in
the direction , pull apart by applying force
upward , and take out the mechanical key
from the electronic intelligent key.

Pull the lock-up button to unlock, and then
take out the mechanical key in the direction of
arrow .
PEPS
Carry the intelligent key to unlock or lock the
door.

Anti-theft System
If any door is opened when the vehicle is in
the anti-theft mode, the system will produce
audible alarm and the turn signals will flash
to prevent theft of the vehicle.
Setting system
1. Power off the vehicle.
2. Ask all passengers to get off the vehicle.
3. Lock all the doors. When all the doors are locked, the anti-theft system will automatically
set after 10 s. Once the system finishes setting, the anti-theft indicator will start to flash.
4. Ensure that the indicator flashes and then you may leave the vehicle. No one can stay in
the vehicle. Because when anti-theft system is automatically setting, unlocking the door
from inside the vehicle will trigger the system.
Triggering alarm
■The alarm will be triggered if:
●Any door, trunk lid or engine hood is unlocked without using the PEPS function of
the intelligent key.
●The vehicle is powered up by other means instead of the PEPS function of the
intelligent key.
Disarming alarm
■The alarm can be disarmed by the following methods:
●Unlock doors or trunk lid with the intelligent key.
●Unlock doors with the microswitch.
●Unlock the trunk lid remotely with the electronic intelligent key.
●Start the vehicle remotely with the key.

●Press the START/STOP button with the intelligent key carried in the vehicle.
Anti-theft indicator
■In the anti-theft setting mode, the anti-
theft indicator will illuminate for 10 s.
■In the anti-theft mode or with the vehicle
powered OFF, the anti-theft indicator
will flash. If the vehicle has not been
operated for more than 14 days, the
anti-theft will go out.
Door lock
By pressing the unlock/lock button on the
console door lock, all the four doors will be
unlocked/locked at the same time.
Notice: Do not modify the anti-theft system by means of alteration or addition because
such modification may cause a failure to the system.

Opening Hands-free Access Trunk Lid by Kicking Action (If Any)
When you stand in the effective detection area
of the trunk lid sensor with the intelligent key
carried, raise your foot comfortably and
smoothly like a kicking action under the rear
bumper without touching the rear bumper.
■If the trunk lid is closed, it will open;
■If the trunk lid is fully open, it will close;
■If the trunk lid is opening or closing, it will
stop. If you make another kicking action, the trunk lid will act reversely.
Power Window
When the vehicle is powered ON, use the
regulator switches equipped on each door to lift
and lower relevant window glasses. There are
four regulator switches equipped on the driver's
door for the driver to control the lifting and
lowering of all the window glasses on four doors.
Anti-pinch function (if any)
Anti-pinch function is provided to automatically stop and return the closing window glass
once an obstruction is sensed when the window is being closed.

Sunroof Switch (If Any)
■Push the button towards the rear of the vehicle to open the sunroof horizontally;
●The first mode is manual mode; in this
mode, releasing this button will stop the
moving sunroof;
●The second mode is automatic mode; in
this mode, the sunroof will automatically
open to the fully-open position; pressing
the button again will stop the moving
sunroof.
■Push the button upward to tilt open the sunroof:
●The first mode is manual mode; in this mode, releasing this button will stop the
moving sunroof;
●The second mode is automatic mode; in this mode, the sunroof will automatically
open to the fully-dipping position; pressing the button again will stop the moving
sunroof.
■Pull the button downward to close the sunroof:
●The first mode is manual mode; in this mode, releasing this button will stop the
moving sunroof;
●The second mode is automatic mode; in this mode, the sunroof will automatically
open to the fully-dipping position; pressing the button again will stop the moving
sunroof.

Opening/closing of sunshade
■Push the button towards the rear of the vehicle to open the sunshade:
● The first mode is manual mode; in
this mode, releasing this button will
stop the moving sunshade;
●The second mode is automatic mode;
in this mode, the sunshade will
automatically open; pressing this
button again will stop the moving
sunshade.
■Push the button towards the front of the vehicle to close the sunshade:
●The first mode is manual mode; in this mode, releasing this button will stop the
moving sunshade;
●The second mode is automatic mode; in this mode, the sunshade will automatically
close; pressing this button again will stop the moving sunshade.

Driving
Power Button
Starting the vehicle
1. Carry the correct intelligent key on
board.
2. Depress the brake pedal.
3 Press the START/STOP button. (The
gearshift lever must be placed at "P" or
"N" position.)
4. Check for light-up of the driving ready indicator (i.e. the "OK" indicator).
5. Check the battery SOC and the driving range.
Driving the vehicle
1. Depress the brake pedal.
2. Place the gearshift lever at "D" position.
3. Confirm the "D" position information displayed on the instrument.
4. Release the brake pedal.
5. Depress the accelerator pedal to start driving

Description of Indicators/Warning Lights
Indicator
Solutions
Parking system fault warning light
Possible causes: low brake fluid level, and failure in brake system
Immediately stop the vehicle and contact a BYD authorized service
provider.
Seat belt warning indicator
The driver and passengers should fasten the seat belts.
Charging system warning light
Immediately stop the vehicle and contact a BYD authorized service
provider.
Intelligent key system warning light
Check if the intelligent key is carried on board or if the battery of the
intelligent key is dying.
ABS fault warning light
Send the vehicle to a BYD authorized service provider for inspection. If
the parking system fault warning light also illuminates, stop the vehicle
immediately and contact a BYD authorized service provider.
Headlight fault warning light
Send the vehicle to a BYD authorized service provider for inspection.
Limited power driving indicator
This indicator will light up when the power battery SOC is low and the
motor power is limited. In this case, contact a BYD authorized service
provider.
SRS fault warning light
Send the vehicle to a BYD authorized service provider for inspection.
Powertrain fault warning light
Send the vehicle to a BYD authorized service provider for inspection if
this indicator keeps lighting up.

Tyre pressure monitoring system fault warning light (if any)
Send the vehicle to a BYD authorized service provider for inspection if this
indicator keeps lighting up or flashing.
ESP fault warning light
Send the vehicle to a BYD authorized service provider for inspection if this
indicator keeps lighting up. Flashing of this indicator is not a fault indication
of ESP system.
Steering system fault warning light
Send the vehicle to a BYD authorized service provider for inspection if this
indicator keeps lighting up.
Power battery over temperature warning light
If this indicator turns on, the power battery is subject to an over
temperature. In this case, be sure to stop the vehicle and let the power
battery to cool down.
Power battery fault warning light
Send the vehicle to a BYD authorized service provider for inspection if this
indicator keeps lighting up.
Motor coolant temperature high warning light
When this light was always lighting on, tells that coolant temperature high,
please stop the car and cooling the coolant
Traffic sign recognition indicator
Illumination of this indicator indicates that the system recognizes the speed
limit for a current road.
ACC fault warning light
Send the vehicle to a BYD authorized service provider for inspection if this
indicator keeps lighting up.
Automatic emergency braking indicator
When this indicator illuminates or flashes, pay attention to your distance
from a vehicle ahead and do not be too close to it to avoid collision.

Low engine oil pressure warning light
Immediately stop the vehicle and contact a BYD authorized service
provider.
Engine fault warning light
Send the vehicle to a BYD authorized service provider for inspection
Coolant over temperature/level low warning light
If this warning light stays on, it indicates over temperature in coolant; in
this case, immediately stop the vehicle in order to cool it down. Flashing
of this warning light means low coolant level; in this case, immediately
add coolant.
Low fuel level warning light
Immediately refuel.
Gearshift Actuator
R: reverse gear position
Shift to R position only after the vehicle is
parked steadily.
N: neutral position
Shift to N position for stopping the vehicle for
a short time.
D: drive gear position
Shift to D position to normally drive the
vehicle.
■After powering the vehicle up (OK), shift to D or R position and then the linkage with the
EPB system will be achieved.
■Moreover, in D or R position, when the vehicle speed is ≤3 km/h and the driver door is

opened, the gearshift lever will automatically shift to P position for safety.
P: parking gear position
With the gearshift lever placed at this position, the motor for P position will be locked up and
the switch indicator will light up. At this moment, the vehicle is shifted to P position.
Manual parking: Pull up the EPB switch.
The indicator on the instrument will flash
first before staying on. If this indicator
stays on, it indicates that the EPB has
been applied.
Manual EPB releasing: When the vehicle
has been powered up (OK) or started and
the vehicle is in a gear position other than P (parking) position, depress and keep holding
the brake pedal and press the EPB switch to release the EPB until the indicator on the
instrument is off, which indicates that the EPB has been released, and then the instrument
will display the message of "EPB deactivated".
Applying the EPB automatically
■Applying the EPB automatically upon power-off:
●After stopping the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal, press the START/STOP
button to stop the engine (the power mode is switched from ON to OFF), the EPB
will be pulled up automatically. Release the brake pedal when the indicator on
Electric Parking Brake (EPB)
P position refers to the parking position. When the gearshift lever is in P position, it is in
a stable parking state. EPB is a main parking device of the vehicle. To ensure the
vehicle's parking safety, releasing the EPB with the EPB switch can only be achieved
when the gearshift lever is no in P (parking) position.
Never place the gearshift lever to R position when the vehicle is driving forward. Be
sure to place the gearshift lever to R position after confirming that the vehicle is
completely stopped.

the instrument stays on after flashing and the message "EPB activated" is
displayed.
■Applying the EPB automatically when gearshift lever is in P position:
●When the vehicle speed is less than 3 km/h, the gearshift lever is in D or R position
and the door is being closed, the gearshift will shift to P position and the EPB will be
applied automatically.
Releasing the EPB automatically when the vehicle is starting to move
■Releasing the EPB automatically upon shifting gear:
●With the vehicle parked on a flat road, start the vehicle, depress and hold the brake
pedal, and shift to D position or R position from P position or N position, and then
the EPB will be released automatically, the indicator will go out, and the
instrument will display the message of "EPB deactivated".
■Releasing the EPB automatically upon depressing accelerator pedal:
●When the vehicle has been started, the gearshift lever is in D or R position and the
EPB is pulled up, depress the accelerator pedal slowly to a certain depth, and then
the EPB will be released automatically, the indicator will go out, and the
instrument will display the message of "EPB deactivated".
Automatic Vehicle Hold (AVH)
With the AVH button pressed, the automatic
vehicle hold function will be activated when
the operating conditions for AVH are
satisfied.
This function is designed to avoid adverse consequences caused by a driver leaving the
vehicle after powering it off without applying parking brake, and to improve the vehicle
safety. Excessive reliance on or frequent use of the function is not recommended.
