Insert t e Extractor into t e base s oe and under t e rig t glass taper.
T e offset andle s ould be away from t e glass surface to allow room for your ands.
Position t e tool as illustrated above and slide to t e left w ile olding wit bot ands.
Try to wedge t e tip of t e Extractor under t e main part of t e taper body rat er t an
t e ear. Depending upon t e type of tapers used and t e size of t e base s oe, t e
bottom gap will vary. If you cannot get t e tool under t e bottom edge of t e taper t en
t e ear protrusion will be adequate.

T e TLEX1 Extractor Pry Bar is a versitile tool designed primarily
for t e removal of broken TAPER-LOC®Tapers. Because it is made
of ardened alloy tool steel, t e TLEX1 is suitable for any demolition
tasks in confined areas. It is easy to ac ieve considerable point
pressure due to its ig leverage design. Prying, pulling, lifting and
breaking, t e indestructible Extractor is a must for every job site
tool box.

Using a rubber or plastic mallet, apply firm
blows to t e upper andle of t e Extractor to break
any seal t at may ave formed between t e glass
taper and t e base s oe due to weat ering. If you
feel movement, stop and relocate t e Extractor
furt er under t e taper and repeat t e process. T e
goal is to raise t e taper corner about one inc (see
illustration below).
Reverse t e offset of t e tool and repeat t e procedure on t e ot er side.
Slig tly lift t e corner of t e opposing taper t ereby eliminating t e pressure against
t e s oe. T e best results are ac ieved by making small movements of t e
tapers by working t e left and rig t sides until t ey lift out wit minimum effort.
