I. Product Overview and Configuration
A. Overview
The imagePRESS C7000VPe is a Canon Certified Remanufactured
imagePRESS based on the imagePRESS C7000VP/C6000VP/C6000. The
remanufacturing process is comprehensive. A team of Canon trained
technicians thoroughly inspected, cleaned and remanufactured the
imagePRESS products. The imagePRESS C7000VPe remanufacturing
process adds value by providing new service parts to improve the quality to
that of the imagePRESS C7010VP.
This remanufactured model has been assigned a new model name and serial
number and has had its meter reset. Since this is not a brand new machine
but remanufactured, extensive testing must be performed to confirm the
machine quality and performance. Therefore, the remanufactured
imagePRESS C7000VPe 101 meter may read between 3,000 and 7,500
prints/copies. This model contains new and refurbished parts and fully meets
the original equipment manufacturer’s quality and operational standards for
this Factory Certified machine.
The POD Deck-A1 and Saddle Finisher-AB2 have been remanufactured into
the POD Deck-A1e, and Saddle Finisher-AB2e respectively and fully meets
the original equipment manufacturer’s quality and operational standards. In
addition, there is a new imagePRESS Server A2200e, a custom
imagePRESS Server configured specifically for the imagePRESS C7000VPe.
These Remanufactured accessories along with the imagePRESS Server are
available with the imagePRESS C7000VPe as standard items.

Usability:
oThe mechanical adjustment for paper skew can be made from
the User Interface.
oAuto-ejection Feature will clear media from a jam to collect in
either the POD Escape tray, Duplex Paper Path or the Saddle
Finisher Tray
2. The Remanufacturing Process
1. All safety related parts are replaced (power cords, breakers, fuses,
thermostats and protective switches).
2. Pertinent engineering changes are implemented (updated parts,
firmware, etc.).
3. Hard disk drives are replaced or erased and reimaged.
4. Each module is inspected for damage during the remanufacturing
process. Subassemblies and parts are replaced as needed.
5. All paper path areas are thoroughly cleaned, and evaluated during
the reassembly process.
6. Almost all bearings are replaced in the Main Station, Finisher and
Sub Station. All bearings are replaced in the fixing units.
7. The fixing units are completely disassembled, cleaned and tested.
The fixing unit tests are the same as for a newly manufactured
fixing unit: a belt alignment test, pressure spring force test and a
complete function check test (checks sensors, web advancement,
temperature, refresh and cleaning roller engagement and belt
timing).
8. All of the reworked major sub-assemblies are inspected by the
operator performing the rework as well as an inspector.
9. After the entire module has been reworked and re-assembled it is
inspected as an assembly.
This model brings the following capabilities to commercial printers, In-plant
Central Reproduction Department (CRD) facilities, quick printers and digital
printers:
A Segment 5 device that prints and copies Color and Black & White
(B&W) sheets at speeds of up to 70 ppm (pages-per-minute).
Prints images at up to 1200 dpi (dots per inch) x 1200dpi with 256
halftones resolution.
A maximum paper size of 13" x 19.2” is supported. Standard paper
sources two paper trays with a capacity of up to 1,000-sheets each.
Adding the optional POD Deck-A1e, the device can hold a maximum of
6,000-sheets.
Canon’s oil-free V Toner utilizes exceptionally small particles containing
micro-dispersed wax so toner fixes evenly and lays flat, resulting in
sharp, vivid, dense images and a smooth finish that looks and feels like
offset printing.

The ARCnet (Attachable Resource Computer Network) communication
cable connects the main engine to ARCnet compatible accessories.
Built-in Automatic Press Calibration sets the proper color densities
without operator intervention, while Canon’s Advanced Developer
technology maintains a constant supply of fresh developer to ensure
color consistency from side to side, page to page, and job to job.

IV. Dealer Sales/Service Authorization
To obtain and maintain authorization to sell or service the imagePRESS
C7000VPe, every Authorized Reseller’s location must have at least two (2)
technicians who have successfully completed the imagePRESS C7000VPe update
training program. Additionally, a dealership must have at least one (1) Systems
Engineer that has successfully completed the imagePRESS C7000VP Systems
training program. By meeting this combination of requirements, a dealer can be
confident that their service department will have the skills and knowledge needed
to be successful in servicing and supporting this production product.

V. Educational Training
A. imagePRESS C7000VPe Training
The learning path for the imagePRESS C7000VPe products has been
designed to build the knowledge and skills of your support professionals that
will affect your customers in the most positive manner, both in the support of
the product and the solutions you offer.
The learning path for service technicians without a certification for the
imagePRESS C7000VPe product starts with completion of the imagePRESS
C7000VP/C6000VP/C6000 blended training course, “Old” or “Current” course
format.
Using the Old course format (Figure 1)
The service technician would have completed the old format of the
imagePRESS C7000VP/C6000VP/C6000 blended training program (with
the 20-day or 18-day Classroom Course). The learning path continues
with the imagePRESS C7010VP/C6010VP/C6010 Hardware Update
course and concludes with the imagePRESS C7000VPe Update Course.
Using the Current course format (Figure 2)
The service technician will need to complete the comprehensive
imagePRESS C7000VP blended training program (with the 15-day
Classroom Course) and conclude with the imagePRESS C7000VPe
training program.
