Quick Reference Guide
This quick reference guide explains the basic
function settings and how to shoot and playback
images. You can take this guide with you when
shooting. For detailed instructions, refer to the
EOS REBEL T3i/EOS 600D Instruction Manual.

Insert the battery.
Insert a SD card.
Attach the lens.
Align the lens’ white or red
index with the camera’s
index in the matching color.
Set the lens focus
mode switch to
<f>.
Flip out the LCD
monitor.
Focus the subject.
Aim the viewfinder center over the
subject and press the shutter
button halfway to autofocus.
Take the picture.
Press the shutter button
completely to take the
picture.
View the image.
The captured image will be
displayed for approx. 2 sec.
on the LCD monitor.
Set the power switch
to <1>, and set the
Mode Dial to <A>
(Scene Intelligent Auto).

! The M on the right of the function indicates that the function is
available only in Creative Zone modes (d,s,f,a,8).

shooting are set automatically. You
just press the shutter button, and
the camera does the rest.

If necessary, the built-in flash will pop-up automatically in
low-light or backlit conditions (except in the <7> <3> <5>
modes).

!Press the <D> button to raise the
built-in flash, then shoot.

! Pressing the < Q > button will display the Quick Control screen.
In the C/2/3/4/5/6shooting mode, press the <V>
key to select the function, then press the <U> key or turn
the <6> dial to set it as desired.

!Set the Mode Dial to <d>.
You can change the camera
settings as desired to shoot in
various ways.
The camera automatically sets the shutter speed and
aperture in the same way as the <A> mode.

d: Program AE
!Set the Mode Dial to <s>.
! Turn the < 6 > dial to set the
desired shutter speed, then focus the
subject.
! The aperture will be set automatically.
! If the aperture display blinks, turn the
< 6 > dial until it stops blinking.
!Set the Mode Dial to <f>.
! Turn the < 6 > dial to set the desired
aperture, then focus the subject.
!The shutter speed will be set
automatically.
! If the shutter speed display blinks, turn
the < 6 > dial until it stops blinking.

viewfinder, you can select the
AF point by turning the <6>

tab in Basic Zone modes and under the [z] menu tab in
Creative Zone modes.

!Set the Mode Dial to <k>.

shooting a movie.
!To stop movie shooting, press
