o Press the <D> button to raise the
built-in ash, then shoot.
Basic Zone Modes
If necessary, the built-in ash will be automatically raised
and red in low-light or backlit conditions (with certain
shooting modes).
Creative Zone Modes
Viewnder Information
All the settings necessary for
shooting are set automatically.
You just press the shutter
button, and the camera does
the rest.
You can change the camera
settings as desired to shoot in
various ways.
oSet the Mode Dial to <d>.
oThe camera automatically sets the shutter speed and
aperture in the same way as the <A> mode.
oSet the Mode Dial to <
s>.
oTurn the <6> dial to set the
desired shutter speed, then
focus on the subject.
XThe aperture will be set automatically.
oIf the aperture display blinks, turn
the <
6
> dial until it stops blinking.
oSet the lens focus mode switch
to <f>.
oPress the <Zf> button, press
the <Y> <Z> keys to select the
AF operation, then press <0>.
X (One-Shot AF):
For still subjects
9 (AI Focus AF):
Switches the AF operation
automatically
Z (AI Servo AF):
For moving subjects
oPress the <g> button.
oPress the <Y> <Z> keys or
turn the <6> dial to select
the desired ISO speed, then
press <0>.
oWhen [
AUTO
] is selected, the
ISO speed is set automatically.
When you press the shutter
button halfway, the ISO speed
setting is displayed.
oPress the <A> button to display
the Live View image.
oPress the shutter button halfway
to focus, then press it completely
to take the picture.
oSet the power switch to <k>.
XSet the Mode Dial to any
shooting mode except <a>.
oPress the <S> or <B>
button.
oLook through the viewnder
and press the <B> button.
XEach time you press the <B>
button, the AF area selection
mode changes.
oPress the <A> button to start
shooting a movie.
oTo stop movie shooting, press
the <A> button again.
oWhen the shooting mode is <a>, you can shoot movies
with manual exposure.
oYou can set movie shooting settings with the menu
options under the [Z1] or [Z2] tab.
oPress the <S> or <B> button.
oYou can shift the AF point
horizontally by turning the <6>
dial, and vertically by turning the
<6> dial while holding down
the <g> button. If you press
<0> straight down, the center
AF point (or center zone) will be
selected.
oPress the <YQi> button,
press the <Y> <Z> keys to
select the drive mode, then
press <0>.
