Warning ! Before Using the System
Caution Items during Operation
■Caution when using the System
Please follow the caution items below
strictly due to safety and security
reasons when using our system.
●During the operation of this system,
never put parts of your body such as
hands or fingers in the action range of
driving parts or near to the high-voltage
area of the system for this may cause
serious injuries.
●The equipment should be operated by
one person.
●Caution when turning on a start-up
switch.
Regardless of manual or automatic
operation, execute the operation only
after confirmation that there is no
person or any tools etc.
■Emergency Stop Button
●When any danger is upcoming, immediately press the emergency stop button, which is
installed at the front side of the system.
●Release the emergency stop button only after the cause of the trouble has been removed.
If you release the emergency stop button without checking, unexpected serious accidents
might occur. Further, never press the emergency stop button for a temporary halt (status) of
the system.
●There are 2 types of emergency stop buttons; one for shutting off all the machine drive
power supplies and the other for partly shutting off the machine drive power supplies. For
the details, see the paragraph of emergency stop in the text.
●Confirm the emergency stop button position for each machine.
●Recovery after Emergency Stop
Remove the cause of the emergency stop.
・Pull back and release the emergency stop button.
・After turning off the power, wait for about 10 seconds before turning on the power again.
・Start-up the system following the procedures for the normal system start-up.

■Interlocks
A cover switch is installed on the machine major unit covers. When a cover equipped with a cover
switch has opened when the machine is running, the interlock operates to automatically stop the
machine. Be sure not to open any cover during automatic running.
Some of the machine covers are not equipped with a cover switch. For safety, keep all the covers
closed during machine running.
To remove a cover to maintain the unit, preliminarily switch off the machine main power supply.
■Signal Tower
●A signal tower is installed for informing you about the current system status.
The Red lamp lights up together with an alarm, when a trouble has occurred during automatic
operation.
The Yellow lamp goes on when the operator has been called for work supply or other purposes.
The Green lamp lighting shows auto-operation.
■Other cautions 1
Do not fail to perform the daily and the periodical
check and confirm that there are no failures or
abnormalities in the system before starting the
work.
When repairing or overhauling the system, do
the work in safety by taking care of the wiring
between the units and watch where you step.
■Other cautions 2
When an abnormality has been detected before or
during the system operation, immediately inform
the personnel of responsibility at site and personnel
in charge of safety and the health management.

i
Preface
i 4
■Caution during maintenance work-1
Some of the unit, required for a change over of the product type
are very heavy. So wear protection gloves and use
transportation jigs for the transfer and the installation.
■Caution during maintenance work-2
●When performing the sensor check, never touch the
sensor with bare hands. Use either tweezers or
papers.
●When performing the maintenance work, the system
should not be operable. Turn off the ON/OFF switch
of the power supply.
●When maintaining air driven parts, switch off the
system input air and the system power then check
that the air pressure dropped down largely to the
same level as the atmosphere.

WarningLabels
Warning labels used for the system
During installation, operation and maintenance services, especially pay attention for the safety and
security of human. The system must only be operated following the correct operation method and
by taking care of the safety. Three (3) kinds of danger warning labels as shown below are used
for this system. Areas with these labels sticked have the individual dangers described below.
There are driving section in operation.
Do not put your fingers and hands into
inside of the panel rashly.
This would cause an accident by your
fingers and hands caught with a driving gear
and a belt.
During maintenance, do the work after
making sure that breakers of a machine and a
switch board should be shut off.
There is a possibility that a burn would
happen because of high-temperature places
inside of a machine.
During maintenance, do the work after
making sure that temperature of those places
should fall enough for safety.
Highly dangerous high-voltage parts are in
the electric system inside of the machine.
Before starting maintenance or other works,
turn off the machine and a switchboard
breakers to prevent electric shocks caused by
contacting the high-voltage parts.

i
Preface
i 6
Inflammable chemicals such as hydrogen are sometimes
used depending on the type of machine.
Please keep inflammables away from a machine for
prevention of a fire and a burn.
Some machines use explosive (bursting) chemical
substances and/or mechanisms (pressure tank, etc.) In
such a case, be sure to keep fire away from the machine,
otherwise bursting or explosions may break out. Also
take care not to stand near the machine unnecessarily. For
the chemical substances used for the machine, read to
understand the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) before
using the machine.
Poisonous and corrosive chemicals are sometimes used
according to machines. Do not stand near the machine
unnecessarily. Put appropriate protective clothes on
because these chemicals have strong stimulus and strong
corrosive to skin and mucous membrane of an operator.
In case these chemicals drops to skin, wash them out with
water and consult a doctor as soon as possible. Please use
chemicals materials after reading MSDS (Material Safety
Data Sheet) and understanding how to handle them.
Laser beams are sometimes used depending on the type of
machines. Do not open a machine cover and a door while
electricity is going on. There is a possibility of causing
serious injuries such as loss of eyesight or death by beam
irradiation. Be sure to start maintenance or other works
after switching off the machine power supply and
confirming that no beams are shot.
Other warning
If any confidential chemical substances or mechanisms are used at the user side, distinctly
indicate all the dangerousness of them on labels, the operation manual and the maintenance
manual.

Unpacking
■Unpacking and Installation Inspection
The system body, display, cables and etc. are packed in polyethylene sheets by using air caps.
Remove the polyethylene sheets before assembly.
!Caution
To move the machine between the places at greatly different temperatures,
e.g., between the outdoors and the room in winter, take sufficient time.
Otherwise the machine may be dewed. In such a case, unpack the
machine after the machine is warmed up to the room temperature.
CAUTION
!Important
Be careful where moving and packing the work transfer unit.
The transfer arm can easily be damaged and rehabilitation may be required.

Space for the installation
Considering a safe work, the system requires a distance to the walls of 1.0 m at least for the
installation.
Precautions against an earthquake
In case of an earthquake, measure for protection of shift, turnover, and drop of a machine must be
taken. We are preparing stoppers such as metal fitting for fixation as optional in order to take
precautions against an earthquake.

It is extremely dangerous to work with wet hands when connecting the
wiring.
After wiring and turning on electricity,
●confirm that there are no loose connections to the power source.
●confirm that there are no cracks or scratches in the power source
cables.
●confirm that the power source plug or cable are not heated up
abnormally.

together with an CANON service personnel for verifying a proper
installation. In addition, all supporting system connections must be
rechecked before turning power on.
WARNING
!Caution
The primary power voltage should be rechecked prior to turning on the
system.
Deviations in the system line power can cause lethal failures during full
process operation.
CAUTION
!Caution
Check if the system power is within Specification voltage ±10%.
First verify that the power breaker of the plant (main electricity leakage
breaker) and internal system power breaker (located on the system lower
left side) are all in the off position.
Next, open the cover of the system main power breaker assembly.
Turn on the power of the plant and measure the phase to phase and phase
to ground voltage at the primary side of the system breaker.
CAUTION
!Warning
If the line voltage is not within the specification listed in this manual or
Specifications, do not continue with this procedure.
The customer must supply proper line voltage before the system can be
powered up. WARNING
Virus Check for Machine Control PC
!Caution
