Alvorens de fabriek te verlaten is iedere
machine onderworpen aan een serie tests en
aan een uiterst nauwkeurige controle.
Carat Centrale B.V. werkt voortdurend aan de
verbetering van zijn machines; daarom behoudt
het zich het recht voor wijzigingen aan te
brengen. Er kunnen dus geen rechten worden
ontleend aan de afbeeldingen in deze
handleiding.
De MIXER 50S is geschikt voor het mengen van
tegellijm, cement, verf en epoxyharsen.
•De fabrikant aanvaardt geen enkele
aansprakelijkheid ingeval de MIXER wordt
gebruikt met werktuigen of materialen die niet
zijn gespecificeerd onder "AANBEVOLEN
GEBRUIK".
•De MIXER is uitsluitend bedoeld om te werken
in de toegestane bedrijfsomstandigheden.
•
Schakel de MIXER uit nadat het mixen voltooid is.
•Wissel het mixen af zoals gespecificeerd wordt
in hoofdstuk 6
•Tijdens het bedrijf, wanneer de garde draait,
geen vreemde voorwerpen of werktuigen in de
mengtrommel brengen.
•De voedingskabel wordt niet bij de machine
geleverd. De machine kan worden aangesloten
met een normale verlengkabel met een
doorsnede van minstens 3 x 1,5 mm2met een
Frans - Duits SCHUKO stopcontact.
Monteer het bovenste frame en de
transporthandgreep zoals getoond in foto 1.
Monteer aansluitpin en bevestig deze met een
veiligheidsklem.

Breng de onderdelen aan in de volgorde die in
afbeelding 2 wordt aangegeven en blokkeer het
geheel met de bijgeleverde zeskantsleutel
van 22 mm.
Draai de garde volledig vast op het motorhuis.
De garde wordt definitief geblokkeerd wanneer de
machine in werking wordt gesteld.
Breng de mengtrommel in het onderframe. Let erop
dat u één van de vier transporthandgrepen in het
daarvoor bedoelde metalen lipje aanbrengt. Op
deze manier voorkomt u dat de mengtrommel
tijdens het mengen van het product gaat draaien.
Breng de garde aan zoals op foto 5 wordt
aangegeven.
Laat de motor zakken en zet deze vast met de
vergrendeling. Nu is de mixer klaar voor gebruik.
Als de motor met garde uit de kuip getild wordt
tijdens het werkproces, zal de motor
automatisch uitschakelen door middel van een
veiligheidsschakelaar.
SCHAKEL DE MOTOR ALLEEN IN ALS DE
MENGSTAAF ZICH IN DE KUIP BEVINDT.
De garde moet voor het openen en sluiten van
de motorkop beslist zo worden geplaatst als in
foto 5 wordt aangegeven.
De MIXER is namelijk zo ontworpen dat de
motorkop uitsluitend geopend kan worden met
de garde in deze stand.
De plastic beschermer mag beslist nooit van de
machine verwijderd worden. Deze voorziet
namelijk in de wettelijk voorgeschreven
preventie van ongevallen met de garde.

De machine kan gemakkelijk worden
getransporteerd. Til de machine aan de handgreep
op en verplaats de machine op haar wielen
(zie foto 7).
VOORKOM ONBEDOELD STARTEN
Verzeker u ervan dat de schakelaar mit staat,
wanneer u de stekker in het stopcontact doet.
De machine dient te worden aangesloten op het
elektriciteitsnet door middel van een
differentieelschakelaar of een klasse II
isolatietransformator met de volgende kenmerken:

N.B. Voor eer correct gebruik van de
differentieelschakelaars dient u niet te vergeten
deze met regelmatige tussenpozen op een
correcte functionering te controleren. Dit doet u
met behulp van de hiervoor bedoelde drukknop
aan de voorkant van het apparaat.
In ieder geval dient u zich er, alvorens de machine
aan te sluiten op het stopcontact, van te verzekeren
dat de netspanning gelijk is aan de spanning die
vermeld is op het typeplaatje van de machine. De
machine moet worden aangesloten op een effectieve
aardkabel. In geval van twijfel de machine sluiten.
De MIXER 50S is uitgerust met een thermische
beveiliging met handmatige reset. Deze treedt in werking
als de garde wordt geblokkeerd. In het geval de garde
vastloopt, eerst de machine van het elektriciteitsnet
afkoppelen en vervolgens de bescherming resetten.
Forceer de machine niet. De machine geeft een
maximaal rendement, met inachtneming van de
veiligheidsvoorschriften, wanneer ze gebruikt wordt
overeenkomstig de bedieningsvoorschriften waarvoor
ze ontworpen werd.
Voor het bereiden van het mengsel:
•Start de machine altijd wanneer ze leeg is.
•Volg de hiernavolgende aanwijzingen voor het
soort mengsel dat u wilt bereiden.
Lijm voor vloer- en wandtegels
A) Lees aandachtig de aanwijzingen op de
verpakking van de lijm die u gaat gebruiken.
B) Giet de benodigde hoeveelheid water voor de
lijm in de mengtrommel, zoals aangegeven door
de fabrikant.
C) Schakel de MIXER 50S in en giet de eerste zak
van 25 kg poeder met een snelheid van 10 kg
per minuut rechtstreeks op de plastic
beschermkap. Deze zal het tot een juist
mengsel mengen.
Ga verder met de tweede zak van 25 kg,
continu en gelijkmatig. Wacht tot het tot nog toe
uitgegoten poeder goed gemengd is, zodat er
geen klonters in het mengsel ontstaan.

•Indien nodig, de lijm gedurende 5 tot 15
minuten laten rusten en vervolgens opnieuw
gedurende een paar minuten mengen.
Zoals beschreven in voorgaande paragrafen,
kan de machine rechtstreeks verplaatst worden
naar de plaats waar de lijm gebruikt wordt.
Cement
•De menger is geschikt voor het bereiden van
gipsmortel die kalk, cement en fijnkorrelige
toeslagstoffen bevat. De menger is niet geschikt
voor het mengen van beton of mortel die grind
of middelgrote toeslagstoffen bevat.
•Voor het bereiden van gipsmortel volgt u de
beschrijving van de vorige paragraaf: lijm voor
tegels.
•Houd er rekening mee dat mortel een sterk
hygroscopische substantie is. Om overmatig
harden van het mengsel te voorkomen, goed
opletten bij het toevoegen van de kalk, het
cement en de toeslagstoffen.
Epoxyharsen
•Bij het mengen van epoxyharsen, de viscositeit
en het soortelijk gewicht van de te bereiden
producten controleren zodat de motor van de
menger niet overbelast raakt.
•Giet hars, verhardingsmiddel en eventuele
poeders in de mengtrommel in de
hoeveelheden aangeduid door de leverancier.
•Meng zorgvuldig om bellen of klonters in het
mengsel te voorkomen.
Verf
•Giet de te mengen verf in de mengtrommel en
voeg de hoeveelheid water toe die voor
oplossing vereist is.
! Chemicaliën of oplosmiddelen kunnen de
eigenschappen van de mengtrommel
beïnvloeden. Deze is van polyethyleen met
hoge densiteit (PET).
! Controleer voor gebruik of de te mengen
producten compatibel zijn met de
eigenschappen van de machine.
De tandwielkast van de machine wordt gesmeerd
met synthetisch, halfvloeibaar vet, dat geschikt is
voor het smeren van tandwielen in een carter.
Gebruik bij vervanging een product met
overeenkomstige eigenschappen:

Wend u voor het vervangen van het smeervet tot
u dealer.
•Indien de mengtrommel versleten of beschadigd
raakt, dient deze verwerkt te worden
overeenkomstig de methodes beschreven in de
huidige wetgeving.
•Indien de volledige machine wordt afgedankt,
dient deze verwerkt te worden overeenkomstig de
methodes beschreven in de huidige wetgeving.

De Europese Richtlijn 2002/96/EG schrijft
voor dat afgedankte elektrische apparatuur
niet mogen worden behandeld als normale
afvalstoffen, maar gescheiden dienen te
worden om de afvalmaterialen zo veel mogelijk
opnieuw te kunnen gebruiken en te recyclen, maar
vooral om gevaar voor de gezondheid en het milieu
te kunnen voorkomen.
Volgens de Richtlijn 2002/96/EG dient op alle
verpakkingen van elektrisch materiaal het symbool
van een doorgehaald papiermandje te staan.
De verpakking van de machine dient volgens de
plaatselijk geldende voorschriften inzake afval te
worden behandeld.
Wend u tot u tot de openbare afvaldiensten voor
meer informatie over een correcte behandeling van
afval van elektrische apparatuur.

Probleem
De machine werkt niet.
De motor start moeizaam.
De reductiekast van de machine
maakt ongewone geluiden.
Oorzaak
De voedingskabel is slecht
aangesloten of beschadigd.
Het stopcontact staat niet onder
spanning.
De thermische beveiliging is in
werking getreden.
De interne veiligheidsschakelaar
is beschadigd
Het mengsel is te hard.
De garde wordt geblokkeerd
(stenen of geklonterd materiaal).
De startcondensator is beschadigd.
Lagers of bussen in de reductiekast
van de machine beschadigd.

Oplossing
Duw de stekker volledig in het
stopcontact, controleer de
voedingskabel.
Het stopcontact controleren of
laten controleren.
Trek de stekker van de
voedingskabel uit het stopcontact en
reset de thermische beveiliging.
Indien de thermische beveiliging niet
kan worden gereset, een paar
minuten wachten om deze te laten
afkoelen.
Neem contact op met uw dealer.
Verwijder een deel van het
materiaal uit de mengtrommel en
probeer opnieuw de machine op
te starten.
Verwijder de te grote stenen of
het geklonterde materiaal.
Handel zoals beschreven in de

9. Verhelpen van storingen
HET WERKTUIG MOET DOOR VAKBEKWAAM PERSONEEL GEREPAREERD WORDEN.
Dit elektrische werktuig is conform de desbetreffende veiligheidsnormen. Reparaties mogen alleen
door vakbekwaam personeel en met originele onderdelen uitgevoerd worden; anders kan dit
aanzienlijk gevaar voor de gebruiker opleveren.

Le mélangeur MIXER 50S est une machine pour
mélanger les colles destinés aux carrelages, le
ciment, les vernis, les résines époxy.
•Le fabricant décline toute responsabilité
touchant l'utilisation du MIXER avec outils et
matériaux non spécifiés au paragraphe
"USAGE CONSEILLÉ".
•La machine MIXER est fabriquée pour
fonctionner exclusivement dans les conditions
de fonctionnement admis indiquées.
•Une fois le mélange effectué, arrêter le MIXER.
•Effectuer les mélanges par intermittence,
comme indiqué dans le chapitre 6
•Pendant l'utilisation, lorsque le fouet est en
rotation, ne pas introduire de corps étrangers ou
d'outils dans le bol.
•Le câble d'alimentation n'est pas fourni avec la
machine. Celle-ci peut être branchée au moyen
d'une rallonge normale d'une section non
inférieure à 3 x 1,5 mm2, avec une prise franco-
allemande du type SHUKO.
Disposer le châssis supérieur et le manche de
transport comme indiqué sur la fig. 1.
Introduire la broche de liaison en l'assurant avec le
clips de sécurité.

Introduire, en séquence, toutes les composantes
comme indiqué sur la fig. 2 et bloquer l'ensemble en
agissant sur l'écrou au moyen de la clé pour vis à
six pans 22 mm fournie avec l'appareil.
Visser à fond la pale sur le corps moteur.
Le blocage définitif se fera lors de la mise en
marche de l'appareil.
Introduire la cuve dans le châssis inférieur en
veillant à loger l'une des quatre poignées de
transport dans la languette métallique prévue à cet
effet. De cette façon, on évitera la rotation de la
cuve pendant le mélange du produit.
Insérer la pale comme indiqué dans la figure 5.
Abaisser et la tête du moteur,le MIXER est prêt pour
être utilisé.
Quand la tête moteur est soulevée, un
interrupteur de sécurité automatique empêche
le fonctionnement du moteur.
LE MOTEUR NE PEUT ÊTRE MIS EN MARCHE
QU'AVEC LE FOUET EN POSITION DE TRAVAIL
DANS LE BOL.
Il est absolument nécessaire de placer le fouet
comme indiqué sur la figure 5 pour les
opérations d'ouverture et de fermeture de la tête
du moteur.
En effet, le MIXER est conçu pour permettre
l'ouverture de la tête du moteur seulement si le
fouet est dans cette position.
Il est absolument nécessaire que la protection
en plastique n'est jamais enlevée de l'appareil,
car elle protège les utilisateurs contre les
éventuels accidents, conformément aux
dispositions de la loi.

La machine est facilement transportable. Soulever
la poignée et déplacer la machine à l'aide des
roues, comme indiqué dans la figure 7.
ÉVITER UN FONCTIONNEMENT NON PREVU
Lors de l'introduction de la fiche dans la prise de
courant, s'assurer que l'interrupteur est "ouvert".
La machine doit être branchée sur le secteur au
moyen d'un disjoncteur différentiel ou d'un
transformateur d'isolation de classe II présentant
les caractéristiques suivantes:

N.B. Pour bien utiliser les disjoncteurs
différentiels, il est recommandé de contrôler
périodiquement leur état de marche en agissant
sur le bouton-poussoir prévu à cet effet sur la
face de l'appareil.
Dans tous les cas, avant de brancher la machine,
assurez-vous que le voltage de la ligne correspond
à celui indiqué sur la plaque de la machine. Ne
raccordez la machine qu'à une ligne d'une mise à la
terre efficace. En cas de doute, ne branchez pas la
machine.
Les MIXER 50S sont dotés d'une protection
thermique à réarmement manuel. Celle-ci intervient
en cas de blocage de la pale. En cas de blocage et
avant de réarmer la protection, débrancher la
machine.
Ne pas surcharger la machine. La machine ne
fournira pas le rendement maximum, les conditions
de sécurité étant respectées, que si l'on observe les
normes de fonctionnement selon lesquelles elle a été
conçue.
Pour préparer la pâte procéder de la façon suivante:
•Démarrer l'appareil à vide.
•Sur la base du type d'ingrédient utilisé,
procéder de la façon suivante:
Colle pour carreaux de pavage et revêtements
A) Lire attentivement le mode d'emploi figurant sur
le sachet.
B) Verser dans la cuve toute l'eau nécessaire pour
préparer la quantité de colle suivant les
indications du fabricant.
C) Mettre sous tension le MIXER 50S, puis verser
le premier sac de 25 kg de poudre à raison de
10 kg par minute, directement sur la protection
en plastique, laquelle centrifugera la poudre en
vue de la mélanger.
Continuer cette opération de façon continue et
uniforme avec le deuxième sac de 25 kg, puis
attendre le mélange complet du produit déjà
versé. De cette façon, on évite la formation de

•Si besoin est, faire reposer la colle de 5 à 15
minutes puis mélanger de nouveau pendant
quelques minutes.
Ainsi qu'on l'a déjà indiqué dans les
paragraphes qui précèdent, la machine est
transportable directement sur le lieu d'utilisation
de la colle.
Ciment
•Le mélangeur est adapté à la préparation de
mortiers pour enduit composés de chaux, de
ciment et d'éléments inertes à structure fine. Il
n'est pas adapté au mélange de béton ou de
mortier comprenant du gravier ou des matières
inertes à structure moyenne ou grosse.
•Pour la préparation de mortier pour enduit,
procéder comme au paragraphe précédent:
Colle pour carreaux de pavage et revêtements.
•Le mortier est une préparation fortement
hygroscopique: il convient de faire une grande
attention à l'adjonction de chaux, de ciment ou de
matières inertes à granulométrie fine dans le
mélange de manière à prévenir un durcissement
excessif du produit obtenu.
Résine époxy
•Pour le mélange de résines époxydes, vérifier
la viscosité et le poids spécifique des produits à
préparer de manière à ne pas surcharger le
groupe moteur du mélangeur.
•Verser dans le bol les quantités de résines, de
durcisseur et, éventuellement, de poudres
indiquées par le fabricant des produits.
•Mélanger avec précaution de manière à
empêcher la formation de bulles d'air ou de
grumeaux dans la préparation.
Vernis
•Verser le vernis à mélanger dans le bol du
mélangeur et ajouter la quantité nécessaire
d'eau utile à la solution.
! L'utilisation de produits chimiques ou de
solvants pourrait altérer les caractéristiques de
la cuve realisée en polyuréthanne haute densité
PET.
! Avant l'utilisation, vérifier la compatibilité des
produits à mélanger avec les caractéristiques de
la machine.
Le réducteur de l'appareil est lubrifié au moyen de
graisse synthétique de type semi-fluide conçue
pour la lubrification d'engrenages en carter.
En cas de remplacement, utiliser un produit ayant
des caractéristiques semblables.

La Directive Européenne 2002/96/CE

The MIXER 50S is a mixing machine for tile
adhesives, cement, paints, varnish and epoxy
resins.
•The manufacturer declines any liability for the
use of the MIXER with tools and materials other
than the original ones and not indicated in the
paragraph "RECOMMENDED USE".
•The MIXER is designed to work exclusively
according to the admissible working conditions
indicated.
•Switch off the MIXER when the mixing process
has finished.
•Space out the mixing processes as specified in
chapter 6.
•Never introduce foreign objects or tools into the
basket during operation with the agitator in
rotation.
•The power supply cable is not supplied with the
machine. The machine can be connected using
a normal extension with a minimum section of
3 x 1.5 mm2, fitted with a Franco-German plug;
type: SHUKO.
Assemble the top frame and the transporting handle
as shown in Fig. 1.

Insert all the different parts in the order shown in
Fig. 2, then lock everything in place using the
22 mm hexagon wrench provided.
Screw the agitator tightly into the motor casing.
The definitive locking will take place when the
machine is in motion.
Insert the basket into the lower frame, making sure
to insert one of the four transport handles in the
metal tang provided.
This will prevent the rotation of the basket during
product mixing.
Insert the agitator by positioning it as shown in
Fig. 5.
Lower the motor head and tighten lock knob, at this
point, the MIXER is ready for use.
Please be aware that when the mixing head and
agitator are raised out of the mixing tub an
automatic safety switch is engaged preventing
the operation of the motor.
THE MOTOR SHOULD ONLY BE RUN IN THE
MIXING POSITION WITH THE AGITATOR
POSTIONED WITHIN THE MIXING TUB.
For the opening and closing of the motor head
the agitator must be positioned as shown in
Fig. 5.
The MIXER has been designed to permit the
opening of the motor head only when the
agitator is in this position.
Plastic protection must never be removed from
the machine, because it ensures the accident-
prevention protection measures for the agitator
prescribed by law.

The machine is easy to move. Lift the handle and
move the machine on its wheels, as shown in Fig. 7.
AVOID UNEXPECTED STARTING
Make sure that the switch is turned off before
inserting the plug.
The machine is to be connected to the power supply
by a residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) or class
II isolation transformer with the following
characteristics:

N.B. To ensure correct functioning, periodically
check the efficiency of the RCCBs by pressing
the push-button on the front of the same.
Prior to connecting the machine to the power
supply, make sure that the voltage is the same as
indicated on the machine data plate. The machine
must be connected to an effective earth wire. In
case of doubt, do not connect the machine.
The MIXER 50S are provided with overheat
protection with manual reset. This intervenes in the
event of the agitator jamming. In the event of it
jamming, before resetting the thermal protection,
disconnect the machine from the mains electricity
supply.
Do not run the machine at full throttle. The machine
will generate its maximum output, whilst observing
safety conditions, only if it is used according to the
operating conditions for which it has been designed.
Proceed as follows to prepare the mixture:
•Always start the machine only when it is empty.
•Proceed as follows on the basis of the type of
component to be used.
Glue for floor and wall tiles
A) Carefully read the instructions on the glue sack
you are going to use.
B) Pour in the basket the quantity of water
necessary to prepare the desired glue quantity
following the manufacturer's instructions.
C) Start the MIXER 50S , then tip the first 25 kg of
powder at a speed of 10 kg/m directly on the
plastic protection, which will centrifuge the
material to obtain an appropriate mixture.
Continue with this operation in a continuous and
uniform manner with the second sack (25 kg)
and wait for the whole product to be properly
mixed. In this way the past will be free from
lumps.

•If necessary, allow the glue to rest for 5-15
minutes and then mix it again for few minutes.
As indicated in the foregoing paragraphs, the
machine may be moved directly to the position
where the glue is to be used.
Cement
•The mixing machine is suitable for preparing
mortar from plaster containing lime, cement and
fine sized aggregates. It is not suitable for
mixing concrete or mortar containing mediurn-
large sized gravel or aggregates.
•For the preparation of mortar for plaster,
proceed as described in the foregoing
paragraph: Glue for floor and wall tiles.
•As the mortar is a highly hygroscopic
preparation, in order to prevent excessive
hardening of the compound, a great deal of
attention must be paid to the addition of lime,
cement or aggregates when nearing the end of
the mixing process.
Epoxy resins
•For mixing epoxy resin, check the viscosity and
the density of the products to be prepared, so
that the mixers motor is not overloaded.
•Pour into the drum the quantity of resin,
hardener and any powders indicated by the
products' supplier.
•Mix carefully to prevent bubbles or lumps
forming in the mixture.
Paints
•Pour the paint to be mixed into the mixer drum
and add the necessary amount of water
required for the solution.
! The use of chemical products or solvents
may affect the properties of the basket, made
of high density polyethyiene PET.
! Check the compatibility of the products to be
mixed with the properties of the machine
before use.
The machine's reduction unit is lubricated with
semi-fluid type synthetic grease suited for the
lubrication of enclosed gears in casings.
When changing the grease, use only products with
the characteristics listed below:

To change the grease, contact your local dealer.
•In the event of the basket becoming worn or
damaged, it must be disposed of in accordance
with the methods laid down by current
legislation.
