Cargo Cycling, as the manufacturer, declares that the Chariot is produced in accordance with the
Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Currently, there is no standard for heavy cargo bikes up to 550
kg. Cargo Cycling has used the cargo bike standard DIN 79010 as a reference and extrapolated the
required tests relevant to the weight specied in this standard to the desired weight of 550 kg.
Discover the Chariot FS2, the next-generation e-cargo trike designed to eortlessly transport large
volumes (up to 1700 liters) and heavy loads (up to 200 kg payload). This impressive Chariot combines
the convenience of a regular e-bike with the capacity of an XXL cargo bike. Built on years of experience
and real-world usage data, we guarantee that the new Chariot meets the highest expectations of
both eet managers and riders. Thanks to its advanced tilting mechanism, the Chariot provides an
unparalleled cycling experience. Unlike traditional tricycles where you may feel pushed out the
corners, this mechanism allows you to smoothly maneuver through turns. The combination of these
fundamental principles and a low center of gravity ensures stability and a fantastic riding experience.
There are two Chariot FS models available.

4. BEFORE EVERY RIDE
Before each ride, ensure the following:
• The lights and bell are functioning and are securely attached.
• The brakes are operational and securely fastened (see section 8. Brakes).
• If you have the model with hydraulic brakes, check that the cables and ttings are not leaking.
• The tires and rims are free from foreign objects, show no damage, and rotate smoothly.
• The tires have sucient tread depth (see section 7. Tires).
• The suspension elements are functioning and securely attached.
• The bolts, nuts, quick releases, and axles are tightly secured, even if the electric cargo bike has
been left unattended for a short time.

• The saddle, seat post, stem, and handlebar are correctly and securely attached in the proper
positions (see section 9. Saddle and 10. Handlebar).
• Before each departure, check that all doors/hatches are securely closed.
Be ware of hot surfaces: when riding in hot temperatures the saddle, the hand grips and
other surfaces of the cargo bike can get hot. Make sure to prevent direct skin contact in
order to you protect your skin from getting burned.
Also do not touch the disc brakes in front and rear wheels immediately after using the bike.
Allow them to cool o for at least 10 minutes.
It is important to regularly maintain your Chariot to ensure it runs properly and that all wear
and tear parts are in safe user conditions. Failing to do this may cause defects with safety
risks and will void the Warranty.
After Riding and Maintenance
• Do not use a high-pressure washer or steam cleaner for cleaning. Use a clean cloth instead.
• Always lock the bike when leaving it unattended.
• After an accident, fall, or if the cargo bike has experienced a heavy impact, have the cargo bike
inspected, even if there is no visible damage.
• Regularly maintain the Chariot by a qualied mechanic.
• Components may react dierently to wear or fatigue. If the component’s lifespan has been
exceeded, it may suddenly fail and pose a risk to the user. Any signs of cracking, scratching, or
color changes in heavily stressed areas indicate that the component’s lifespan has been
reached, and it should be replaced.
• Use only replacement parts approved by Cargo Cycling.
• Always carry a mobile phone with you and have your dealer or service provider’s number in
your contacts.
• Never ride up or down curbs.
• Do not use a trailer behind the Chariot.

9
5. PREVENT THEFT
6. TYRES
Points to consider:
• Always lock your cargo bike.
• If you are using a cable lock, you can anchor your cargo bike to a fence or pole. If the cable is
long enough, pass it through both the frame and the front wheel.
• Take note of the frame number. This number is indicated on the cargo bike through a sticker or
coding in the frame. Often, it can be found at the back of the seat tube.
Framenumber:
If your tires are not at the correct pressure, they will wear out faster and there is a higher risk
of getting a flat tire. Therefore, we recommend regularly checking if your tires have the right
pressure. Use a bicycle pump or compressor with a pressure gauge. Riding on properly inflated
tires is more enjoyable because the bike will have less resistance. Correct tire pressure also
makes steering easier. The correct tire pressure can be found at the end of this manual under
the section “Dimensions”. You can determine the minimum tread depth using the tread wear
indicator. This visual marking in the tire’s tread indicates when the tire is worn out and needs
replacement, as it becomes aligned with the remaining tread.
The Chariot is equipped with a Mando system:
With a Mando system, you cannot brake using the pedals; this can only be done with the
brake levers on the handlebars. You have both left and right brake levers.
7. BRAKES
The brakes are among the most critical components of your cargo bike. Use both brakes
simultaneously as much as possible to reduce your speed. Always check before you go out if
the brakes are working correctly. If you notice that the brake levers need to be pulled (almost) all
the way to the handlebar before the cargo bike slows down, the brakes need to be readjusted
or possibly replaced. The left brake lever is for the rear brake, and the right brake lever is for the
front brake. The rear brake light automatically illuminates when you apply the brakes.
• Ensure that any cargo you are carrying is properly placed and cannot shift. This depends on the
type of cargo box and bike conguration.
• The battery(s) is (are) securely fastened.
• Ensure that the battery(ies) is (are) suciently charged for the planned ride.

10
Figure 5: Adjusting the saddle Figure 6: Height marking

Figure 3: Hydraulic parking brake Figure 4: Mechanical parking brake
When you sit on the saddle, it is adjusted to the correct height if you can place your foot flat
on the ground.
The saddle height can be adjusted by releasing the quick-release lever (Figure 5).
Ensure that the saddle clamp is always securely tightened after making adjustments.
Note: The safety marking on the seatpost should not be visible when the seatpost is inside the
seat tube (Figure 6).
8. SADDLE
Parking Brakes:
The Chariot has both mechanical and hydraulic parking brakes (Figure 2 and 3). We recommend
using both parking brakes for a short stop. If you are leaving the bike for an extended period (e.g.,
for storage), we advise placing the bike on a at, horizontal surface and using only the mechanical
parking brake (Figure 4). Always lock the bike.

11
The handlebar is positioned at a fixed height. With its minimalist design and straight handlebar,
it offers a look that any rider will appreciate. The limited controls, such as the hydraulic and
mechanical brake levers, the control panel and display, bell, and turn signals, provide an
effortless and intuitive riding experience (Figure 7).
9. HANDLEBAR
Figure 7: Handlebar of the Chariot
The Chariot is equipped with a front wheel safety ring lock.
The safety lock can be operated as follows (Figure 8):
10. THE LOCK

General loading instructions
Although there may be specic loading instructions for specic cargo boxes, it is important to
follow these general loading instructions for maximum safety:
• The load must be stowed so that the centre of gravity of the entire load is as far as possible above
the longitudinal centreline of the vehicle. This centre of gravity shall be kept as low as possible.
• Place the heavier packages as low as possible in the cargo box.
• The loading of a vehicle must be carried out within the limits of the permissible total weight
and the permissible axle loads.
• Even with partial loads, an even distribution of weight must be aimed for, so that each axle is
loaded proportionally.
• Aim for an even weight distribution across the two rear wheels (left and right) and the front and
rear of the cargo box.
• Make sure the load cannot slide freely in the cargo area when riding.
• Uneven weight distribution can have a negative eect on braking and driving stability.
