Read this instr ction man al thoro gh-
ly before sing the appliance.
Keep all installation, operating and
maintenance instr ctions caref lly and
hand them on if yo transfer the appli-
ance to another owner.
This appliance conforms to the Low
Voltage Directive (73/23 EEC) and
Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive
(89/336 EEC).
It m st be installed by q alified person-
nel only.
The appliance m st be installed in an
area which is not accessible to the p b-
lic.
WARNING! Always disconnect the
appliance from the mains s pply before
starting any maintenance work and
before accessing any internal compo-
nents.

• Check that the app iance has not been
damaged in transit. If any damage is visib e,
report it to the carrier immediate y.
• Make sure that the vo tage and frequen-
cy of the mains e ectricity supp y corre-
spond to the specifications on the app i-
ance. A so make sure that the mains sup-
p y has sufficient insta ed power for the
app iance to operate simu taneous y with
any other e ectrica app iances that might
be connected to the same power ine.
• To avoid fire, exp osion and injury, never
operate the app iance in the presence of
dangerous substances or near app iances
that produce naked f ames.
• In partic lar make s re that the appli-
ance is efficiently earthed.
• The system must be connected to the
mains e ectricity supp y in accordance with
the wiring diagram in the outdoor section
insta ation manua .
• Make sure that the app iance is insta ed
in comp iance with a app icab e nationa
safety standards.
• The app iance can on y operate correct y
and without risk provided it has been
insta ed and tested by specia ist person-
ne .
• After insta ation, carry out functiona test-
ing and instruct the user in the operation of
the system.
• This manua describes the insta ation of
the indoor unit of a sp it system consisting
of two Carrier units. Coup ing different
units equipped with different contro sys-
tems can damage the systems and inva i-
dates the respective warranties. The man-
ufacturer accepts no responsibi ity for sys-
tem ma functions deriving from unap-
proved coup ing.
• The manufacturer dec ines a responsi-
bi ity for damage or injury caused by unau-
thorised modifications to the app iance or
incorrect e ectrica or coo ant connections.
• Fai ure to observe the instructions given
in this manua or use of the app iance in
conditions other than those specified in the
“Operating Limitations” tab e in the app i-
ance’s insta ation manua automatica y
inva idates the warranty.
• On y use the app iance for the purpose
for which it is intended. The indoor unit is
not suitab e for use in washrooms.
• Do not use the app iance if it is damaged.
In the event of any ma functioning, switch
the app iance off immediate y and discon-
nect it from the mains e ectricity supp y.
• On y qua ified personne are authorised to
c ean inside or maintain the app iance.
• Arrange for periodic checks to be carried
out on the unit, the e ectrica connections,
the coo ant pipes and the safety devices
(these operations must be carried out by
qua ified personne on y).
• This app iance contains moving parts.
Make sure that chi dren cannot get at
them.
