Quick Start
Setting the time and day
You must set the time and day before you can use any of the
NUI’s programming features.
Open the lid1.
Press D/H/M SET CLOCK (2. ) button.
Press the up or down button, to change the hour.3.
Stop on the correct hour.
Press the D/H/M SET CLOCK (4. ) symbol button
again and the minutes will ash on the display.
Press the up or down button to change the minutes.5.
Stop on the correct number.
Press the D/H/M SET CLOCK (6. ) symbol button
again and day will ash on the display.
Press the up or down button to change the day.7.
Stop on the correct number.
Press OK button or close the lid.8.
Carrier’s NUI series programmable user interface is a unit /
wall--mounted, low voltage, user interface which maintains
room temperature and domestic hot water temperature by
controlling the operation of a heating / cooling system. A
variety of features are provided including separate heating
and cooling set-points, 2 zone management, domestic hot
water management, keypad lockout, backlighting, and
scheduling for all week days with 2 or 4 or 6 periods.
This manual covers usage, conguration and installation
of NUI.
Note: the NUI will mount the front cover (lid) only in case of wall installation.
Ignore references to lid in case of unit installation.

Programming the Touch‘N’ Go feature
Selecting the zone
The unique Touch‘N’Go feature on your thermostat is a
revolutionary tool that lets you use a simpler programming
option – literally, touch and go – to help you get the
maximum comfort control from the entire comfort system.
With the touch of one Touch ‘N’ Go button – home
(), away ( ) and sleep ( )–you can tell
your thermostat where you’ll be. To keep the home at that
comfort level indenitely, you add one more button –hold
() – and you’re set. It’s the ideal choice for them whose
schedule varies from day to day or doesn’t t into the
two or four or six predictable time periods allowed by the
thermostat.
At the same time, these three comfort options – home, away
and sleep – are connected to the thermostat’s full-level
programming power so that you get the home comfort you
desire exactly when you want it.
The three Touch‘N’Go buttons are preset at the factory
for typical heating, cooling and domestic hot water
temperature settings and assigned to specic time periods.
You can change these temperature settings and the hours
you want to use them easily. Learn how to do that and
discover how useful this device is as you read through this
manual.
The Touch‘N’Go feature on your thermostat involves home
(), away ( ) and sleep ( ) buttons
immediately under the display. They are used for three
programming options.
The simpler programming option requires you to either
accept the preset temperature settings for when you are
home, away or asleep, or to set your own Touch‘N’Go
heating, cooling and domestic hot water temperature
settings. Either way, your home, away and sleep settings are
automatically linked to one of the time periods that are also
preset (and changeable) on the thermostat.
Here are the temperature settings that are pre-programmed
for your home, away and sleep periods.
To show temperature, humidity, Touch’N’Go settings and
setpoint of a dened zone:
Open the lid1.
Press the zone button (2. ) to select the desired
zone. Zones are indicated as follow
0. NUI zone
1. heating / cooling zone 1
2. heating / cooling zone 2
3. domestic water

To change the factory settings
Press and hold the comfort button1.
(or or ) to be changed for about ve
seconds. The set temperature along with the symbol
heat ( ) or cool ( ) or domestic water ( ) will
ash.
Select the desired zone by pressing the zone (2. )
button repeatedly.
If zone 1 or 2 is selected, press the mode (M) button3.

Press the up or down button on the right side of4.
the display until you reach the desired temperature
setting for the current mode of operation. At this
moment the triangle icon ( ) above the pressed
comfort button ( ) will start ashing.
Press the up or down button on the right side of5.

Pressing one of the other two Touch 'N' Go button,6.
item 4 to 5 can be repeated.
If needed select a dierent zone and repeat steps 37.

Changing the temperature time periods
After you have set temperature settings for home, away and
sleep, you can program the time of day you want to use for
those temperature settings.
Time ranges are called periods; zone 1 and zone 2 have
maximum 6 periods; zone 3 has maximum 4 periods.
Periods are identied on the display as P1, P2, P3, P4, P5
and P6.
The thermostat has preset periods (see below), but you can
change these to t your lifestyle.
To select the number of periods, refer to the (user)
parameters table in the unit documentation.

Assigning time periods
It is possible to assign the following parameters to each time period.
Zone 1: room temperature ( / / ), Zone mode (ON/OFF), Silent mode (ON/OFF)
Zone 2: room temperature ( / / ), Zone mode (ON/OFF)
Zone 3: domestic hot water temperature ( / ), booster heater (ON/OFF)
Here’s an example of a programming using the factory-set periods and Touch‘N’ Go options.

Here’s how to connect your time periods with your settings.
Open the lid.1.
Press the days (2. ) button at the bottom of the
thermostat. You will see 1 to 7 ashing on the display.
Select one of the options (1 to 7 , 1 to 5 , 6 to 7 or3.
individual day : 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) by pressing the days
() button until you get your desired option. Select
1 to 7 if your individual day schedules are same.
When you have selected one of the options (1 to 7, 14.
to 5, 6 to 7 or individual day: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7), press the
period ( ) button at the bottom of the thermostat.
P1 will ash on the display.
Select the desired zone by pressing the zone (5. )
button repeatedly.
To change the hours in P1, press the start time (6. )
button at the bottom of the screen.
You will see the hours in 6:00 ashing on the screen.7.
Press the up or down button and stop on the desired
time.
To change the minutes, press start time (8. ) button.
You will see the minutes in 6:00 ashing on the screen.
Press the up or down button and stop on the desired
time.
The“stop time”for period 1 (P1) is also the“start time”9.
for period 2 (P2). Use the instructions in the next step
to change the start time for period 2.
Press the Touch ‘N’Go button – home (10. ), away
() or sleep ( ) – you want to use during
period 1 (P1) from the row of buttons just below the
display. You will see triangle icon ( ) above the
button selected. This tells the thermostat whether you
are home, away, or sleep during P1. The thermostat
will use the heating and cooling temperature settings
you’ve selected for that Touch ‘N’Go button. For
example, if your heating temperature setting for
home is 23 °C, the thermostat will keep the heat at 23
during P1.
For zone 1 and zone 2: press the mode (M) button on11.

assigned for each start time, Zone Mode Setting and
Silent Mode setting. Each time you press period ( ),
you will advance to the next start time.
