CasaSetup
1. You can run CasaSetup remotely on any computer connected to the LAN.
2. To run CasaSetup, start the browser (Safari, Internet Explorer 8 or higher, Firefox, Mozilla, Opera and
Chrome) on your computer. On a Windows PC, enter http://CasaServer/CasaSetup into the browser. On a
Mac browser enter http://CasaServer.local/CasaSetup. If the browser does not connect to the Music Server,
check to make sure the Music Server is connected to the same network as your computer (you should see
little lights where the network cable is plugged into the Music Server). Some networks are set up too securely
for this to work properly, in which case, if you know the IP address of the server you can enter
http://serverIP/CasaSetup where serverIP is the IP address of the server. If this still does not work, you may
need to run CasaSetup directly on the Music Server using the following directions. If you are able to
successfully start CasaSetup, skip the next step.
3. If you are not able to connect using your remote computer, you can follow the directions on the sheet “How
to manage the CasaTunes Music Server remotely” that was included with your Music Server. Then, when
connected to the Music Server, simply start Internet Explorer on the Music Server and enter
http://localhost/CasaSetup
4. Once CasaSetup is running, click on the “Controller” button (if it is not already selected). Change the
Controller Type to match the model and brand of Multi-room Controller you are using.
5. Click on each of the buttons at the top of the CasaSetup page and make any other necessary changes.
CasaSetup is easy to use, but if you have any problems click on help.
6. In the Sources page, set the sources to match the way that you have wired your Multi-room Controller.
Streaming Source outputs coming from the Music Server to the Multi-room Controller are “CasaTunes Media
Players”. By default, we have set the first eight sources in the Sources Page to be CasaTunes Media Players
and the other sources are defaulted to “None”. If you wired your CT-8S differently, you will need to change
the sources in the following manner: For the first Multi-room Controller source that you will be feeding with
a CasaTunes Media Player, select “CasaTunes Player” as “the type of source”, “Speakers (Asus Xonar… ” as
“the Audio Device to use” and “Speaker Pair 1: (Jack Color: Green)” as the “Speakers for source”. For the 2nd
source fed by CasaTunes, set it up the same except that the “Speakers for source” should be “Speakers Pair
2: (Jack Color: Black)”. Keep going in this manner for the 3rd and 4th sources fed by CasaTunes, using Speaker
Pair 3: (Jack Color: Orange) and Speaker Pair 4: (Jack Color: Grey), respectively. For the next four sources fed
by CasaTunes, choose “Speakers (2- Asus Xonar… ”and chose the Speaker pairs in the same order as the first
four sources fed by CasaTunes.
7. Now, in the other Controller sources you can select the non-CasaTunes devices that are connected to the
Multi-room Controller. If we do not show a device to match the sources you are using, pick “unknown”.
8. Note that your license number, as well as the Windows license, is on the bottom of the Music Server.
9. If you have a Russound “E” or “C” series or a NuVo system, see the included instructions.
You are now ready to enjoy CasaTunes music throughout your home.
