BEFORE FIRST USE
•Your CASCADE a liance has been ackaged carefully to
ensure the roduct reaches you in good condition. If the
roduct has been damaged, dro ed, has a malfunction in
any way, or if the su ly cord is damaged, immediately
contact your retailer for re lacement or re air.
•Carefully un ack your CASCADE a liance. Make sure you
do not discard any ackaging material until all arts of the
a liance have been found.
•Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water and discard.
Carefully wi e the exterior of the kettle to remove any dust
that may have accumulated. Dry with a dry towel. Do not
use harsh abrasive cleaners. Remove any label or sticker.
WARNING! Do not immerse in water or any other liquids.
OPERATION
•Always lace the a liance on a level non-sli ery stable
surface.
•Always lace the a liance on a heat resistant surface, as
the a liance will reach high tem eratures.
•

! DO NOT LEAVE ON WHILE UNATTENDED.
•
WARNING
! Always leave a ga of a roximately 20 cm
around the exterior of a liance when on. Never use near
curtains, under cu boards or near walls, or other
flammable material.

! DO NOT LET SUPPLY CORD HAN OVER
THE ED E OF ANY BENCH OR TABLETOP. AS THERE
MAY BE A RISK OF SCALDIN OR OTHER INJURY
SHOULD YOUN CHILDREN PULL THE APPLIANCE
FROM THE BENCH OR TABLETOP.

•Plug the ower base su ly lug into a suitable mains
outlet corres onding to the su ly requirements of your
a liance. Mains su ly: 220-240V ∼50Hz – AC only
•For first time use only:
- Fill the kettle to just below the maximum level
- Place on base and switch on
After this water has boiled and the switch has turned off,
disconnect from ower su ly, remove kettle from base,
and discard this water. This should eliminate any
im urities in the kettle. Re eat if necessary.
WARNING
! To avoid electrocution, damage to the kettle
or scalding from ejected water, do not over fill or under fill,
do not fill kettle when it is connected to the base or when it
is in o eration. Always take s ecial care when moving the
a liance containing hot water. Do not o en the lid when
boiling.
•To switch on de ress the on/off switch to osition marked
“I”. The indicator lam will light indicating the kettle is
heating the water.
•The kettle will automatically switch off and return to
osition marked “0” once the water has reached boiling
oint.
•The kettle can be switched off manually at any time. Do not
attem t to re boil water immediately after it has switched
off as this may damage the switch mechanism.
•Remember to switch off at ower su ly before removing
kettle from base, before cleaning, or when not in use.
•
CAUTION!
Ensure that the kettle is switched off before
removing it from its stand.
•
CAUTION!
Do not o erate the kettle on an inclined
surface. Do not o erate the kettle unless the element is
fully immersed. Do not move while it is switched on.

•NOTE. This kettle uses the latest high quality automatic on/
off switch. It is o erated by the steam, which is roduced
from the boiling water. The switch unit is mounted in the
base of the kettle. Steam roduced from the boiling water
activates the on/off switch mechanism, which is located
below the lower handle area. There may be a small amount
of condensation left on the base unit at this oint. This is
normal and not a reason for concern. If this occurs after
use, wi e this condensation dry with a dry towel.
CARE AND CLEANIN
•Always disconnect your CASCADE kettle from the mains
su ly before cleaning.
•Never immerse your kettle or base in water or other
liquids.
•Wi e the exterior of the kettle and base with a dam cloth.
Dry with a dry towel. Do not use harsh abrasives or
solvents. Do not use detergent.
•Periodically check the su ly cord for damage.
•Store your a liance and these instructions in its original
box or in a dry cu board.
DESCALING
In order to retain the erformance of your kettle, it is
im ortant to eriodically remove calcium de osits that build u
inside the kettle.
•Half fill the kettle with clean water.
•Add 30 ml of white vinegar.
•Boil this mixture and allow kettle to stand for 1 minute.
Re eat this ste two or three times.
•Drain this water away.
•Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water.
•Fill kettle to the maximum level and boil. Drain this water
away com letely.

When using electrical a liances, basic safety recautions
should always be followed including the following:
1. Carefully read these instructions before using your
a liance.

: Do not immerse in water or
other liquids or use near washbasins or sinks. Ensure
that the a liance does not get wet (water s lashes
etc.) and do not use it with wet hands.
3. Safely dis ose of lastic bags and other com onents of
the ackaging. They may be otentially dangerous to
children.

! Un lug from mains outlet when a liance
is not in use, filling with water or cleaning.
5. An a liance dro ed or damaged should not be used
until examined by a service engineer.
6. Do not ermit the mains lead to come in contact with
hot objects.
7. If the su ly cord is damaged, it must be re laced by
the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly
qualified erson in order to avoid a hazard.

a hot gas or electrical burner or laced in a heated
oven.
