Ardisam, Inc., a Manufacturing Company warrants this Castle Pellet Stove to be free from defects in the material or
workmanship for a period of one year. During that one-year period, Ardisam will, at their discretion, furnish parts
and labor to correct any defect caused by faulty material or workmanship. For other warranty repairs, please read
the one- year warranty listed below.
All electrical components such as but not limited to blowers, wiring, vacuum switches, speed controls, control boxes,
switches, pilot assemblies, thermostats, and igniters are covered under Ardisam Inc.’s one-year warranty. Our repots
and labor are also covered under the one year warranty.
THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO DEFECTIVE PARTS – REPAIR AND/OR REPLACEMENT AT ARDISAM, INC.’S OPTION AND
EXCLUDES ANY INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES CONNECTED THEREWITH.
This warranty is not transferable and supersedes all other warranties either expressed or implied and all other obligations
to liabilities on our part. Ardisam, Inc. does not assume, and does not authorize any other person to assume for us, any
liability in connection with the sale of our products. The warranty applies only to products which have not been subjected
to negligent use, misuse, alteration, accident or repairs made by anyone not certied by Ardisam Inc.. This guarantee is
void unless the warranty card is properly lled out and returned to Ardisam, Inc., Cumberland, WI, at the time of purchase.

WARNING
• Read this entire manual before you install and use your
newpellet stove.Failure to follow instructionsmayresult
in property damage, bodily injury, or even death.
• Children and adults should be alerted to the hazards of
highsurfacetemperaturesandshould stay awaytoavoid
contact to skin and/or clothing.
• Youngchildrenshouldbecarefullysupervisedwhen
they are in the same room as the stove.
• Clothingandotherammablematerialsshouldnot
be placed on or near this unit.
• Flammable or explosive liquids such as gasoline,
naphtha, alcohol, or engine oil must be used
in or around stove. These liquids must be stored in a
separateroomastheopenameinthereboxcould
ignite the fumes of such liquids.
• DO NOT burn garbage in this unit. The burning of
other solid fuels such as cord wood or wood chips
in this stove is not permitted. Any fuels not certied
by Castle Pellet Stoves which are burned in this stove
will void the warranty.
• DO NOT route power cord in high trac areas. A
power surge protector plugged into a grounded 110
volt power source is required.
• DO NOTinstallauedamperintheexhaustventing
system of this unit.
• DO NOTconnectthisunittoachimneyueservicing
another appliance.
• DO NOT install in a sleeping room.
• DO NOT connect to any air distribution duct or
system.
•DO NOT connect directly to a masonry chimney.
•DO NOT terminate vent in any enclosed or semi-
enclosed area, such as; carports, garage, attic, crawl
space, under a sun deck or porch, narrow walkway
or closed area, or any location that can build up a
concentration of fumes such as a stairwell, covered
breezeway etc.

• TheCastlePelletStovespelletstoveisde-
signedtoburnpelletfuelonly.
• Aworkingsmokedetectorisrequiredand
must be installed in the same room as the
stove.
• Thisstoveisnotintendedforuseincommer-
cial applications.
• Doorandashpanmustbeclosedandlatched
duringoperation.
• Notifyyourinsurancecompanyofpelletstove
installation.
• Thisinstallationmustconformwithlocal
codes. In the absence of local codes you
mustcomplywithASTME1509,(UM)84-hud,
ulc/ordC-1482,andUCLS627-2000.
• Thestructuralintegrityofthemanufactured
homefloor,wall,andceiling/roofmustbe
maintained.
• Keepcombustiblematerials(suchasgrass,
leaves, etc.) at least three feet away from the
flueoutletontheoutsideofthebuilding.
• Thisstoveshouldnotbeusedastheonly
sourceofheatinthehouse.Poweroutages
and periodic maintenance will result in a total
loss of heat.
• Donotleavehopperdooropenwhileunat-
tended.

Duringapoweroutage,thestovewillshutdownsafely.
Donotopenthemaindoororashdoor.Duringapower
failuretheexhaustfanwillnotrun.Keepingthedoors
sealedwillallowtheexhaustventtodraftoutnaturally.
When the power is restored, the stove will not restart. If
theexhausttemperatureisstill120degreesFahrenheit
whenpowerisrestored,theexhaustandconvectionfans
willcontinuetorununtilthestovecools.Seelighting
instructions to restart stove.
Overheating
Ifthestoveisbeingoverredor
burningtoohot,thehighlimitswitcheswillautomati-
callyshutdownthestovetoavoiddamagetocompo-
nents.Ifthetemperatureonthehopperreaches200
degreeFahrenheit,theaugerwillautomaticallystopand
thestovewillshutdown.Theexhaustfanwillcontinue
torununtiltheproofofreswitchcools.Allowstove
tocoolbeforeattemptingtore-ignite.Seelighting
instructions.

youforyourpurchaseonaCastlePelletStovefrom
Ardisam,Inc.Wehaveworkedtoensurethatthispellet
stovemeetsthehigheststandardsforusabilityand
durability. With proper care, your stove will provide
many years of dependable service. Please read entire
manual before installation and use.
Ashes need to be removed from the stove periodically.
SeeNormalCare&Maintenancesectionforcleaning
procedure.Duetothenatureofpelletfuels,thisstove
willrequireattentionperiodically.Regularcleaningisan
importantpartofburningpelletfuel.
• Thispelletstoveisdesignedandapprovedtoburn
wood pellets, that comply with pellet fuels industry
standards.Minimumof40lbs.densitypercubicfeet,
1/4”to5/16”indiameter,withamaximumlengthof
1-1/2”,andlessthan1%ash.
• Theperformanceofyourpelletstoveisgreatly
affected by the type and quality of wood pellets. As
the heat output of various quality wood pellets differ,
so will the performance and heat output of the pellet
stove.
• Wood pelletsaregenerallyproducedoutofwood
wastesuchassawdustandshavings.Therawmaterial
isdried,mechanicallyfractionedtosizeandextruded
intopelletsunderhighpressure.Woodpelletsneed
tobeprotectedfromdirectexposuretowater.Water
from sources such as condensation and humidity
causespelletstoexpandandbreakdownintounus-
ablefuel.Keepfueldry.
• Itisimportanttoselectanduseonlypelletsthat
aredryandfreefromdirtanddebris.Dirtyfuelwill
adversely affect the operation and performance of
theunitandwillvoidthewarranty.ThePelletFuel
Institute(PFI)hasestablishedstandardsforwood
pellet manufacturers. Only use pellets that meet or
exceedPFIstandardsforpremiumfuels.
• Impurities,suchassilica(clinkers),willneedtobe
regularlycleanedandremovedfromthepelletstove.
Clinkerswillformahardmassandblockairflow
throughthepotliner.Highqualityfuelswillresultin
fewerclinkers.

INSTALLATION
It is recommended the stove be installed and serviced by
authorizedprofessionalswhoarecertiedbytheNational
FireplaceInstitute(NFI)asNFIPelletSpecialists.
Proper installation of this stove is necessary for safe and
ecientoperation.Installingthisproductimproperlymay
resultinahousereandpersonalinjury.Allapplicable
buildingcodesforyourlocationmust befollowed.In
areaswherebuildingcodesrequireadditionalstepstothe
installation of this product not included in this manual,
thebuildingcodeswilltakeprecedentandmustbe
followed.Contactyourlocalbuildinginspectortoobtain
anynecessarypermitsorinspectionguidelinesbefore
installingtheproduct.
Sketchoutaplanforinstallingthestoveincluding
dimensions before permanent placement. When
determiningthelocationforthestove,wallstudlocation
is critical.You may need to adjust the location of the stove
toavoidtryingtoventthroughawallstud.Beforeplacing
the pellet stove, connect the vent and allow for minimum
clearance to combustible walls.
Thestovemustbeinstalledonanoncombustibleoor,
withproperoorprotection,oronamasonryhearth.
When a clean out t-vent is installed in the inside of a home,
theoorprotectormustextend2”beyondrearoft-vent.
.Whenstoveisventedstraightthrough
thewallandthecleanoutt-ventisontheexteriorofthe
home,theminimumclearanceis2”fromthebackofthe
stove to the wall. Theminimumoor
protector material is 24 GA. sheet metal.

NOTE: These are minimum clearances to combustible walls established by the ASTM testing lab.
NOTE: When interior vent is installed vertically, the clearance to the back wall is determined by the vent size
used. Install vent at clearance specied by the vent manufacturer. Take into consideration any upward turning
elbows or tees.

Thefollowinginstallationguidelinesmustbefollowedto
ensureconformitywithboththesafetylistingofthisstove
andtolocalbuildingcodes.
Note: Where passage through a wall, or partition
of combustible construction is desired, the instal-
lation shall conform to CAN/CSA -8365.
Thepelletventingpipe(alsoknownasLvent)is
constructed of two layers with air space between the
layers.Thisairspaceactsasaninsulatorandreduces
outside surface temperature of pipe to allow a clearance
to combustibles.
AULlisted3”or4”typeLpelletventexhaustsystemmust
be used for installation and attached to the pipe connector
providedonthebackofthestove.Usea3”to4”adapter
for4”pipe.Acapmustbeusedattheterminationoftype
Lventchimneys.Forelevationsabove2,500feetabove
sealevel,a4”Lisrequired.
Terminationexhaustaboveairinletelevation.
It is recommended to install at least three feet of vertical
pelletventpipe.Thisverticalpipewillcreatesomenatural
drafttopreventthepossibilityofsmokeorodorduring
appliance shutdown.
Theinstallationmustincludeacleanoutteetoenable
collectionofyashandtopermitperiodiccleaningof
theexhaustsystem.
Totallengthofhorizontalventmustnotexceed10feet.
Themaximumrecommendedverticalventingheightis18
feet. All joints for pellet vent are required to be fastened
with at least three screws and all pellet vent connections
mustbesealedaccordingtotheventmanufacturer’s
recommendations.
Theareawheretheventpipegoesthroughtotheexterior
of the home must be sealed with silicone or other means
tomaintainthevaporbarrierbetweentheexteriorand
the interior of the home.

Connectionfromtheintakepipe(2”diameterpipeinrearof
stove)totheoutsideofthehouseisREQUIREDformobile
homeinstallation.Itisrecommendedintightlysealed
homeswithexhaustfanssuchaskitchenorbathroom
fans.Thiswilleliminatepoorperformanceduetonegative
pressure.
Onlynoncombustiblepipe2”(orgreater)indiameteris
approvedtouseforoutsideairconnections(straightor
exible).
Iftheairinletisconnectedtotheoutside,itMUSTbe
terminatedwithavertical90ºbend(down)orwithawind
hood.Failuretodosocouldresultinaburnbackduring
highwindsblowingdirectlyuptheairinletduringa
simultaneous power failure.
Blockage,excessivelength,orextrabendsintheairintake
pipewillstarvethestoveofcombustionair.A90ºbend is
equivalentinrestrictiontoapproximately30”ofstraight
inlet pipe.
Installation in a mobile home should be in accordance
with the manufactured home and safety standard.
DepartmentofHousingandUrbanDevelopment(HUD)
CITE:24CFR3280.707statingthisstovemustbevented
to the outside. In addition to the standard installation
instructions,thefollowingrequirementsaremandatory
forinstallationinamobilehome:
1. Thestovemustbepermanentlyattachedtothe
oor.
2. Stovemusthaveanoutsideairsource.
3. Stovemustbeelectricallygroundedtothesteelchassis
of the mobile home.
4. All vertical chimney vents must have wall supports.
5. Allexhaustsystemsmusthaveasparkarrestor.
6. Checkwithlocalbuildingofcialstoseeifothercodes
may apply.
YourCastlepelletstoveutilizesaverticalaugerfuelfeed
system that is operated by a microprocessor controlled
digitalcircuitboard.Thedigitalcircuitboardallowsthe
verticalaugerfuelsystemtoruninatimerbased,non-
continuouscycle;thiscyclingallowstheaugertorun
forapredeterminedamountoftime.Theaugerpushes
pelletsupachutelocatedinthehopper.Thepelletswill
thenturnandfallthroughanotherchuteintotheburn
pot.Yourstoveisequippedwithanautomaticignition
systemthatshouldignitethefuelwithin3-5minutesof
pressingtheOn/Obutton.Aspelletslltheburnpot
andignite,outsideairisdrawnacrossthefuelandheated
duringthecombustionprocesswhichisthenpulledacross
theheatexchangerbytheexhaustmotororthedraftfan.
Asthestovereachesoperatingtemperature,roomairis
thencirculatedaroundtheheatexchangerbyaroomair
blower,distributingwarmairintotheroom.
Theamountofheatthatisproducedbythestoveis
proportionaltotherateoffuelthatisburned.Thisrateis
controlledbypressingthefuelcontrolbutton<->.
Becauseaforceddraftpressureisrequiredforthe
combustionprocessinsideyourstove,itisextremely
importantthattheexhaustsystembeproperlyinstalled
and maintained. Also, the doors must remain closed while
in operations and the seals on the doors must be properly
maintained.

Oncethestovehasbeenproperlyinstalledandplugged
intoagroundedsurgeprotectoryouarereadytobegin
operation.
Turnonthemainpowerswitchlocatedonthebackofthe
stove. .
Makesurethehopperiscleanandfreeofforeignmatter
includingpelletnesanddust.
Fillthehopperwithwoodpellets,makingsurethat
NOpartsofthebagoranyforeignobjectsenterthe
hopperasthismaycauseharmtotheaugerfeedsystem.
Alsotakecareinmakingsurethereisnopelletmaterialin
thehopperlidseatingsurfaces.
Closethelid.Thisstovehasasafetyswitchthatwillnot
allow pellets to feed with the hopper door open.
Makesurethemainglassdoorisclosed.Thestovehas
a safety switch that will not allow the stove to feed fuel
unlessthereisnegativedraftpressureinsidethestove.
Press the button on the control pad to start stove
operation. .
Note: When starting the unit for the first time or
after the hopper has run out of fuel, the auger will
not be primed with pellets. This may cause the
automatic ignition to time out and the unit will
shut down. Pressing the button on the control
pad again will restart the startup sequence and
the stove should start properly.
Onceaconsistentamehasbeenestablished,youcan
adjusttheheatrangetoyourdesiredsetting,low,medium
orhigh.Thisisdonebypressingthe<->buttononthe
controlpad.Indicatorlightsonthecontrolpadwilldisplay
theheatsetting.
Theroomairdistributionblowerwillnotoperateuntilthe
stove has reached the factory preset temperature.
Note: First fire: Adjust the heat setting to medium
and allow the stove to operate this way for three
hours or more, allowing the stove to cure as
residual paint and oils from the manufacturing
process will burn off. We recommend that you
open doors and windows in your home during this
process.

Press the button on the control pad to initiate the shut
downmode.Oncethisisdonetheaugerwillstopfeeding
pellets,buttheroomairdistributionblowerandexhaustfan
will continue to operate. When the internal temperature of

Cleantheinteriorchamberwithanashvacuum.Ash
vacuumsarespeciallydesignedtocontainsootandhave
ametalexterior.
Dumptheashpanregularly.Ashesshouldbecontained
inametalcontainerwithatightttinglid.Theclosed
container of ashes should be placed on a non combustible
oororontheground,wellawayfromallcombustible
materials. If ashes are disposed of by burial or otherwise
locally dispersed, they should be retained in the closed
containeruntilallcindershavebeethoroughlycooled.

SootandFlyash:FormationandNeedforRemoval-The
products of combustion will contain small particles of
yash.Theyashwillcollect intheexhaustventing
systemandrestricttheowoftheuegases.Incomplete
combustion,suchasoccursduringstartup,shutdown,
or incorrect operation of the room heater will lead to
somesootformationwhichwillcollectintheexhaust
ventingsystem.Theexhaustventingsystemshouldbe
inspectedatleastonceeveryyeartodetermineifcleaning
is necessary.
Checkcleanoutteesregularlytodeterminetherequired
cleaninginterval.Usea3”or4”chimneycleaningbrush
tocleantheexhaustventing.Pluggedventingwilleect
thequalityofthere.Makesuretocleananyscreens
intheventingregularly.Apluggedscreenwillshuto
combustionairandcausetheretodieorburnpoorly.
