• Donot use thetoaster on sink drain board.
• Alwaysensure thetoaster is properly
assembled before use. Follow the
instructions provided in this book.
• Theapplianceis not intended to be
operated by means of anexternal timer or
separate remote control system.
• Donot use a toaster to heata room!
• Donot turn a toaster on in advanceasit
heats immediately!
• Toaster is portableand is provided with
portablepower cord which provides
double-poledisconnection from themains.
• In case of use anextension cableit is necessary
to ensure theextension cableis not damaged
and it should apply to valid standards.
• Bread may burn, therefore this toaster
must not beused nearor below curtains or
other combustiblematerial and it must be
supervised atall times when in use.
• Ensure thatbread to betoasted is the
correctsizefor thetoaster and does not
protrudeabovethebread sliceopening.
Ensure thebread is not too thick or long that
it will jam or wedgethebread carriage.
• Donot placeto toaster or on thetoaster
sugary or buttered bakery asit tendsto melt
and ow.
• Donot toast bread or pastry wrapped, e.g. in
aluminium foil, paper, etc.
• Never cover toasting slots and never insert
your ngers or metal toolsin theslots! Do
not placeany objecton thetoaster.
• Donot placetoaster directly on top of
toasting slots to warm toast asthis may
prevent correctair circulation and damage
theappliance.
• Donot movethetoaster whilst in operation
or when hot. When operating, use a toaster
not to hurt yourself(e.g. burnings).
• Donot touch hot surfaces. Use sideareasfor
lifting and carrying theappliance.
• Donot leavethetoaster unattended when
toasting.
• In case of re caused for exampleby burning
food, turn othetoaster immediately and
disconnectfrom themains.
• Alwaysturn thepower oatthepower
outlet and then removetheplug from the
power outlet before attempting to movethe
appliance, when theapplianceis not in use
and before cleaning or storing.
• Donot allow breadcrumbsto accumulate
in thebottom of thetoaster. Failure to clean
thecrumb tray regularly may resultin a re
hazard.
• Donot cleanwith metal scouring pads.
Pieces canbreak othepad and touch
electrical parts creating anelectric shock
hazard.
• Keep theapplianceclean. Follow the
cleaning instructions provided in this book.

• Check thedate on therating label corresponds
to thatin your mains. Plug of power cord
must beplugged into a properly wired and
grounded power outlet which applies to the
standardsin theEuropeanUnion.
• Donot plug thepower cord into a power
outlet or removewith wet handsor pulling
thepower cord.
• Donot let thepower cord hang over the
edgeof a tableor counter, touch hot
surfaces, or becomeknotted.
• Toprotectagainst electric shock, do
not immerse power cord, power plug or
appliancein water or any other liquid.
• Donot use this appliancefor other thanits
intended use. This applianceis intended for
household use only. Donot use in moving
vehicles or boats. Donot use outdoors.
• It is recommended to regularly inspectthe
appliance. Donot use theapplianceif power
cord, power plug or appliancebecomes
damaged in any way. Return theentire
applianceto thenearest authorised Catler
servicecentre for examination and/or repair.
• Any maintenanceother thancleaning

(safety switch) is recommended to provide
additional safety protection when using
electrical appliances. It is advisablethata
safety switch with a rated residual operating

CONTROLLED AND WILL NOT OPERATE UNTIL THE

Before first use, removeany packaging material
or promotional labelsattached to your toaster.
1. Insert thepower plug into a230/240 V
power outlet then turn thepower on.
TheTOAST/CANCEL button surround
will illuminate in blue. TheLED toasting
progress indicator will illuminate in blue
from left to rightand then alignto the
selected browning setting (indicated by the
position of thebrowning control slide). The
toaster will revert to standby modeafter
30 secondsif abutton is not pressed or the
browning control slideis not adjusted.
WHEN USING THE TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME,
WE SUGGEST TOASTING ON THE MAXIMUM
SETTING WITHOUT BREAD. THE TOASTER MAY
EMIT ATHIN SMOKE OR DISTINCT ODOUR
ON INITIAL USE. THIS IS NORMAL AND NOT
DETRIMENTAL TO THE PERFORMANCE OF THE
TOASTER.
NOTE
2. Placeone sliceof bread, one crumpet or
halfanEnglish muffin or halfabagel only,
into each of thetoasting slots. Ensure items
for toasting are not too largeor too thick to
fit in thetoasting slots.
TheTS 4011 hasasinglebrowning control
slideand row of function buttons that
simultaneously control thetwotoasting
slots.
3. Selectthedesired browning setting by
adjusting thebrowning control slideon the
front of thetoaster. Thebrowning settings
rangefrom‘1’(lightest) to ‘5’(darkest).
TheLED toasting progress indicator will
illuminate in blue and alignto theselected
browning setting (asindicated by the
position of thebrowning control slide).
WHEN USING THE TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME, IT
IS SUGGESTED TO TOAST ON BROWNING SETTING
‘3’. VARIOUS TYPES OF BREAD AND PERSONAL
PREFERENCE MAY REQUIRE ADIFFERENT
BROWNING SETTING. FOR EXAMPLE, RAISIN
TOAST AND WHITE LIGHT-TEXTURED BREADS MAY
REQUIRE ALIGHTER SETTING, WHILST HEAVIER
TEXTURED RYE BREADS MAY REQUIRE ADARKER
SETTING.
NOTE
4. Tostart thetoasting process, press the
TOAST/CANCEL button on top of the
toaster. TheTOAST/CANCEL button
surround will illuminate in red and the
carriagewill automatically lower into the
toasting slots which start thetoasting cycle.
Asthecarriageautomatically locksinto
position, theLift & Look button surround
will illuminate in blue and theLED toasting
progress indicator (abovetheselected
browning setting) will ash and start to
gradually count down(towardstheleft)
indicating thetoasting progress.
5. TheLift & Look button canbepressed
up until 10 secondsbefore theend of
thetoasting cycleto view thebrowning
of thebread. When selected, theLift
& Look button surround will ash and
theLED toasting progress indicator
will remain steady (indicating thatthe
selected browning setting hasnot been
interrupted by thecarriagerising). The
toasting recommences immediately asthe
carriagelowers and locksinto position,
and asindicated by theLift & Look button
surround illuminating and theLED toasting
progress indicator ashing.
DO NOT LEAVE THE TOASTER UNATTENDED WHEN IN USE AS TOAST MAY JAM. IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT THAT BREAD, CRUMPETS OR
MUFFINS BECOME JAMMED IN THE TOASTING SLOTS, ALL THE BUTTONS AND THE LED TOASTING PROGRESS INDICATOR WILL FLASH
AND THE ELEMENTS WILL TURN OFF. SWITCH THE TOASTER OFF AT THE POWER OUTLET, REMOVE THE POWER PLUG AND ALLOW
THE TOASTER TO COOL COMPLETELY BEFORE CAREFULLY EASING THE BREAD OUT OF THE SLOTS. TAKE CARE NOT TO DAMAGE THE
ELEMENTS.

6. Approximately 10 secondsbefore theend
of theselected browning setting, theLift &
Look button will cease illumination. Asthe
toasting stopsand thecarriagerises, the
TOAST/CANCEL button surround will ash
and theLED toasting progress indicator will
cease ashing. TheLED toasting progress
indicator will re-illuminate to thepreviously
selected browning setting.
7. Oncethetoasting cyclehascompleted
and thecarriagehasrisen and locked into
theraised position, thetoast ready alert
will sound. Removethetoast. TheTOAST/
CANCEL button surround will re-illuminate
in blue for up to 30 seconds, ready for the
nexttoasting cycle.
THE TOASTER WILL REVERT TO STAND-BY MODE
AFTER 30 SECONDS IF ABUTTON IS NOT PRESSED
OR THE SLIDE IS NOT ADJUSTED. THE TOAST/
CANCEL BUTTON SURROUND AND LED TOASTING
PROGRESS INDICATOR WILL CEASE ILLUMINATION.
NOTE
THE TOASTER WILL RE-ACTIVATE FROM STAND-
BY MODE AND THE TOAST/CANCEL BUTTON
SURROUND AND LED TOASTING PROGRESS
INDICATOR WILL ILLUMINATE WHEN:
A. ANY OF THE BUTTONS ARE PRESSED.
B. THE BROWNING CONTROL SLIDE IS MOVED.
C. THE POWER AT THE POWER OUTLET IS
TURNED OFF THEN ON AGAIN.
NOTE
TOAST/CANCEL BUTTON
TheTOAST/CANCEL button surround will
illuminate in blue for up to 30 secondswhen the
applianceis turned on. Thetoaster will revert to
stand-by modeafter 30 secondsif abutton is
not pressed or thebrowning control slideis not
adjusted.
• Press theTOAST/CANCEL button onceto
lower thecarriageand start thetoasting
process. TheTOAST/CANCEL button
surround will then illuminate in red.
• Press theTOAST/CANCEL button during
operation to cancel thetoasting process or
any other function. TheTOAST/CANCEL button
illumination will changefrom red to blue and
stay illuminated for up to 30 seconds.
TOASTING CAN BE STOPPED AT ANY TIME BY
PRESSING THE TOAST/CANCEL BUTTON LOCATED
ON THE TOP OF THE TOASTER. THIS WILL CANCEL
THE OPERATION AND THE CARRIAGE WILL MOVE
TO THE RAISED POSITION.
NOTE
THE TS 4011 TOASTER FEATURES ALIFT & LOOK
BUTTON. THIS AUTOMATICALLY RAISES THE
CARRIAGE WITHOUT CANCELLING OR RESETTING
THE SELECTED BROWNING SETTING. USE THE LIFT
& LOOK BUTTON TO VIEW BROWNING PROGRESS
DURING THE TOASTING AND, IF NECESSARY,
CANCEL THE PROCESS WHEN THE DESIRED TOAST
COLOUR IS ACHIEVED.
NOTE
ABIT MORE button
This feature canbeselected after or during the
toasting cycle.
Touse this feature during thetoasting cycle:
1a. TheABIT MORE button surround will
illuminate in blue when selected. The
toasting timewill automatically increase but
will not illuminate more of theLED toasting
progress indicator. ABIT MORE function can
becancelled by pressing theABIT MORE
button again and theoriginal toasting cycle
will continue.
Touse this feature after thetoasting cyclehas
completed:
1b. TheABIT MORE button surround will
illuminate in blue when selected. The
carriagewill automatically lower and
begin theadditional toasting time.
TheLED toasting progress indicator
will automatically alignwith thelowest
browning setting then ash and count down
for theadditional browning time.
2. TheTOAST/CANCEL button surround will
also illuminate in red and theLift & Look
button surround will illuminate in blue
allowing you to check on thetoasting
progress and, if necessary, cancel thecycle
by pressing theTOAST/CANCEL button
when thedesired toast colour is achieved.
3. Approximately 10 secondsbefore the
end of theadditional browning, theLift
& Look button will cease illumination. As
thetoasting stopsand thecarriagerises,
theTOAST/CANCEL button surround will
ash, theLED toasting progress indicator

will cease ashing and theABIT MORE
button surround will cease illumination.
TheLED toasting progress indicator will
re-illuminate to thepreviously selected
browning setting.
4. Oncethetoasting cyclehasfinished and
thecarriagehasrisen and locked into the
raised position, thetoast ready alert will
sound. Removethetoast. TheTOAST/
CANCEL button surround will re-illuminate
in blue for up to 30 seconds, ready for the
nexttoasting cycle.
ABIT MORE BUTTON CAN BE USED WITH THE
TOAST, CRUMPET AND DEFROST FUNCTIONS.
NOTE
CRUMPET button
This feature activates additional heatto the
middleheating elements to perfectly toast
crumpet topsand lightly toast thecrumpet
bases or to toast theinner sideof thecut bagel,
whilst slightly warming theoutsideof thebagel.
Totoast crumpets:
1. Placethecrumpets into thetoasting slots
with crumpet topsfacing inwardsasper
thecrumpet markingsabovethemiddle
elements of thetoaster or placethecut
bagel into thetoasting slots with cut
sides of thebagel facing inwardsasper
thecrumpet markingsabovethemiddle
elements of thetoaster.
2. Selectthedesired browning setting by
adjusting thebrowning control slideon the
front of thetoaster. Thebrowning settings
rangefrom‘1’(lightest) to ‘5’(darkest).
3. Press theTOAST/CANCEL button and
thesurround will illuminate in red and
then press theCRUMPET button and
thesurround will illuminate in blue. The
crumpets will automatically lower into the
toasting slots. Themiddleand sideheating
elements will automatically adjust.
4. TheLift & Look button surround will also
illuminate in blue allowing thetoasting
progress to bechecked and, if necessary,
cancel thecycleby pressing theTOAST/
CANCEL button when thedesired toast
colour is achieved.
5. Approximately 10 secondsbefore theend
of theselected browning setting, theLift &
Look button will cease illumination. Asthe
toasting stopsand thecarriagerises, the
TOAST/CANCEL button surround will ash
and theLED toasting progress indicator will
cease ashing. TheLED toasting progress
indicator will re-illuminate to thepreviously
selected browning setting.
6. Oncethetoasting cyclehasfinished and
thecarriagehasrisen and locked into the
raised position, thetoast ready alert will
sound. Removethecrumpets or bagel.
TheTOAST/CANCEL button surround will
re-illuminate in blue for up to 30 seconds,
ready for thenexttoasting cycle. The
CRUMPET button surround will remain
illuminated and should bepressed onceto
cancel if asubsequent toasting function is
required. TheCRUMPET button surround
will cease to illuminate after 30 secondsor
when theapplianceis switched oatthe
power point.
PLACE THE CRUMPETS INTO THE TOASTING SLOTS
WITH CRUMPET TOPS FACING INWARDS AS PER
THE CRUMPET MARKINGS ABOVE THE MIDDLE
ELEMENTS OF THE TOASTER OR PLACE THE CUT
BAGEL INTO THE TOASTING SLOTS WITH CUT
SIDES OF THE BAGEL FACING INWARDS AS PER
THE CRUMPET MARKINGS ABOVE THE MIDDLE
ELEMENTS OF THE TOASTER.
NOTE
DEFROST button
This feature activates additional toasting time
required to toast frozen bread.
Totoast frozen bread:
1. Placethebread into thetoasting slots.
2. Selectthedesired browning setting by
adjusting thebrowning control slideon the
front of thetoaster. Thebrowning settings
rangefrom‘1’(lightest) to ‘5’(darkest).
3. Press theTOAST/CANCEL button and the
surround will illuminate in red then press
theDEFROST button and thesurround
will illuminate in blue. Thebread will
automatically lower into thetoasting
slots. Thetoasting timewill automatically
increase.
4. TheLift & Look button surround will
illuminate in blue allowing you to check
on thetoasting progress and, if necessary,
cancel thecycleby pressing TOAST/CANCEL

button when thedesired toast colour is
achieved.
5. Approximately 10 secondsbefore theend
of theselected browning setting, theLift &
Look button will cease illumination. Asthe
toasting stopsand thecarriagerises, the
TOAST/CANCEL button surround will ash
and theLED toasting progress indicator will
cease ashing. TheLED toasting progress
indicator will re-illuminate to thepreviously
selected browning setting.
6. Oncethetoasting cyclehasfinished and
thecarriagehasrisen and locked into the
raised position, thetoast ready alert will
sound. Removethetoast. TheTOAST/
CANCEL button surround will re-illuminate
in blue for up to 30 seconds, ready for
thenexttoasting cycle. TheDEFROST
button surround will remain illuminated
and should bepressed onceto cancel if
asubsequent toasting function is required.
TheDEFROST button surround will cease
to illuminate after 30 secondsor when
theapplianceis switched oatthepower
point.
Innovative LIFT & LOOK feature
This feature automatically raises and lowers
thecarriageso you cancheck progress without
interrupting and/or cancelling thetoasting
cycle.
Toselectthis feature:
1. TheLift & Look button surround will
illuminate in blue during thetoasting cycle
and when using theABIT MORE, CRUMPET
and DEFROST features. You canpress the
Lift & Look button during toasting cycleto
view thetoasting progress. If selected, the
Lift & Look button surround will ash. The
LED toasting progress indicator will cease to
ash indicating thattheselected toasting
cycletimehasnot been interrupted.
When theLift & Look cyclehasfinished, the
toasting cyclewill re-commence, indicated
by theresumed ashing of LED toasting
progress indicator.
2. Approximately 10 secondsbefore theend
of theselected browning setting, theLift
& Look button will cease illumination and
cannot beactivated in this time.
Using the Bun Rack
Placethebun warmer rack onto theslots atthe
top of thetoaster, ensuring it is securely placed.
Set thebrowning control to setting ´1´ only.
Press theTOAST/CANCEL button to start. Wait
for thetoaster to switch oautomatically, or
press theTOAST/CANCEL button to switch the
toaster obefore removing thebuns. Repeat
theoperation again if desired brownness is
needed. Takecare not to touch themetal parts
of thebun rack asthis will behot.

1. Switch thetoaster oatthepower outlet
and then removethepower plug from the
power outlet. Allow thetoaster to cool
completely before cleaning.
2. Tocleanany crumbsfrom thetoaster,
removethecrumb tray, located under the
control panel atthefront of thetoaster, by
pulling it outwards. Empty and replacethe
crumb tray before using thetoaster again.
Replacethecrumb tray by sliding it inwards
until it locksinto position.
3. Toremoveany additional crumbs, turn the
toaster upsidedownover abin and shake
crumbsfree.
4. Wipetheoutsideof thetoaster with
aslightly dampened soft cloth then polish
with asoft dry cloth to dry completely.
DO NOT CLEAN WITH METAL SCOURING PADS. PIECES
CAN BREAK OFF THE PAD AND TOUCH ELECTRICAL
PARTS CREATING AN ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD.
NOTE
Storage
Switch thetoaster oatthepower outlet and
removethepower plug from thepower outlet.
Allow thetoaster to cool completely before
storing. Follow thedirections for cleaning and
store in anuprightposition on aatsurfaceon
abench top or in anaccessiblecupboard. Do
not store anything on top of thetoaster.
DO NOT USE THE TOASTER WITHOUT THE SLIDE OUT CRUMB TRAY IN POSITION. DO NOT ALLOW CRUMBS TO BUILD UP IN THE CRUMB
TRAY. FAILURE TO CLEAN THE CRUMB TRAY REGULARLY MAY RESULT IN AFIRE HAZARD.
CARE AND CLEANING
INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION REGARDING THE DISPOSAL OF USED PACKAGING MATERIALS
Dispose of packaging material at a public waste disposal site.
DISPOSAL OF USED ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES
