TMC-1-MMP1 User guide
This ocument only escribes the Ethernet connections of the TMC-1 an any ifferences in
operation. Please refer to the TMC-1 Reference which is available from the main TMC-1 Web
Page.

Ethernet Connection
The TMC-1 communicates to the MMP1 via Ethernet, when connecte to the network it will
iscover any connecte MMP1’s an isplay them. If it has been paire with a MMP1 an
recognise the Serial number it will select the paire MMP1.
To check the Ethernet connection epress [Select] an [Page] together to enable the Page
select menu. From the Page select menu epress the [E-Net] key to isplay the MMP1
pages. Use the [<] an [>] keys to step through.
Note 1: Once the TMC-1 iscovers the MMP1 selecting the MMP1 on the TMC-1 Discovery
page will set the TMC-1 to be on the same subnet as the MMP1.
Note 2: It may be necessary to set the subnet a ress of the TMC-1, the efault IP a ress of
the TMC-1 is 169.254.149.250. If you have a DHCP server on your network use the DHCP key
on the Discovery page to select a free IP a ress, If not you can set the IP A ress of the
TMC-1 using the TMC1v5 or Mi iup Mac/Win ows programs
Note 3: The MMP1 serial number & Mac a ress is unique to each unit an are use to
efine the estination instea of the IP a ress.

MMP1 4.1 Implementation
The TMC-1-MMP1 an MMP1 are both new, not everything is implemente at this time,
Yammaha have provi e restricte access to the MMP1 functions to the TMC-1. More
functions are available in the iPa emulation mo e.

Discovery
This page isplays the MMP1 units
iscovere by the TMC-1 (Max 4). The unit
highlighte in Yellow is the currently
connecte unit. To select, use the [<] an
[>] keys an then epress the [Select] key.
Network Page:
This Page shows the current setup of the
Network connection. The TMC-1 copies the
subnet a ress from the selecte MMP1 on
the Discovery page, the last number (249 in
the image) may be efine from the
“TMC1-MMP1” program on Mac or
Win ows with the Unit Name.
Socket Debug:
Use to ebug systems, You can change
the socket number using the [+] or [-] keys.

Cue Sends Page:

The [St Down] user key will enable/ isable the stereo ownmix on the MMP1.

The Main ifference between TMC-1 an MMP1 is the way in which the talkback routing is
efine . The TMC-1 provi es engineer (T/B 1, T/B 2 ,T/B All) an Pro ucer (T/B 1x, T/B 2x ,T/B
Allx) to 3 groupes of estinations. T/B 1 an T/B 2 estinations are efine by the user on the
TMC-1 ‘Cues Page’. SLS is route to Stu io Speaker 1, Cue 1, Cue 2 an H/P are route to
cue outputs 1, 2 an 3.
The Engineer talkback keys [T/B 1], [T/B 2] an [T/B All] a just Trims 1-1 an 1-2 .
The Procucer talkback switches [T/B 1x]. [T/B 2x] an [T/B Alx] that a ust Trims 2-1 an 2-2.
Auto-Dim
If "Auto-Dim on Talkback" is enable on the MMP1 session settings then the MMP1 Dim
control will be use by the TMC-1. If not then the TMC-1 will use its Dim Setting to a just the
gain of the MMP1.

The software is up ate via the USB port using our MIDIUPD program which is available from
the TMC-1-MMP1 or TMC-1-XMon MMP1 Remote App.

Note. When upgra ing from TMC-1-Xmon to TMC-1-MMP1 an upgra e key must be
purchase an the MMP1 Option enable before the MMP1 software is installe . If you
install without enabling the MMP1 Option the TMC-1 will jump irectly to the software
Installation page.

Connect to the TMC-1, (you may have to
select the in an out ports). Rea the Signature
(55:34:34:34:39:30:15:10:0c:04 in this example)
from the chip.

The XMon connector is available on the TMC-1-MMP1 for the following
Talkback Microphone and Headphone
The TMC-1 provi es an analogue Talkback Microphone with preamp an Hea phone
connection which are connecte to the HD15 connector. To use connect to Analogue
Inputs an outputs on the MMP1.
The TMC-1 is esigne for systems that sum the two mic inputs an then have two separate
routings both of which are available to each input. To achive this the talkback routing MUST
be setup on the TMC-1 as this overri es the talkback routing in the MMP1.
Interna Ta kback Microphone
An electret mic amplifier is provi e on the TMC-1, normally connecte to the internal
microphone. A 3.5mm Jack on the rear is provi e to that a suitable external “Laptop Mic”
may be use . The mic output is on the HP15 pin connector an may be configure with a
balance or unbalance output.
Headphone Jack
The hea phone jack is connecte irectly to the HD15 pin connector. The input is
unbalance with two groun returns.

MMP1 Not Discovere It may be necessary for the MMP1 an TMC-
1 to be on the same subnet.
The TMC-1 has a 100Mbps Ethernet
connection, check that the computer port or
network switch is set correctly
Talkback not working The talkback routing must be specifie in the
TMC-1 cue sen s page.
