3. Description
3.1. Presentation of the MPZ
The smart controller for piezoelectric switch MPZ is a receiver for a piezoelectric switch which
enables 2 relays to be controlled (Contacts NO Form A/Open in stand-by). It is traditionally used
to control pumps intended to filter tanks of pools, fountains, counter-current pools, massage pumps
or even lighting, etc.
It is able to operate according to various operating modes;
• Non time delay remote control switch
• Time delay remote control switch (a choice of several time outs)
• Non time delay sequencer (a choice of several sequencers)
• Time delay sequencer (a choice of several sequencers and time outs)
Furthermore, if it is used with a illuminated piezoelectric switch (monochrome or RGB), the lighting
(or the colour) of the button is different according to the status of the 2 output points of the MPZ
and therefore makes its status known. Marker lighting is also configurable, so that the switch can
be detected.
What's more, this smart controller for piezoelectric switch has a front panel button so that a local
command is possible.
To control projectors through a transformer, a relay/switch mechanism must
be installed. Do not directly power a transformer through the output points of
the MPZ.

4. Installation
4.1. Integration in a fuse box
ThesmartcontrollerforpiezoelectricswitchMPZmustbeinstalledonastandardDINrail(OMEGA
rail) in a fuse box. It cannot be used as it is.
The module has a system which enables it to be automatically clipped onto the rail;
1. First clip on the top of the module
2. Place a flat screwdriver into the clip on the bottom of the module to activate it
3. Clip on the bottom of the module and remove the screwdriver
4.2. Electrical connection
Installing this product could expose you to an electric shock. We strongly rec-
ommend that you use a qualified professional. An installation error could put
you at risk and irreversibly damage the product and the equipment connected
to it.
For safety reasons and according to the standard NF C15-100, the case in which
the MPZ is installed must be set up
• either more than 3 m 50 from the edge of the pool. This distance is measured
taking into account any workaround of obstacles. If the case of the MPZ is
installed behind a wall, this is therefore the distance required to go round it
and re-connect to the case.
• or in an underground room in close proximity to the pool. In this case, the
room must be accessible by a trap door which requires the use of a tool to
be opened.
The smart controller for piezoelectric switch MPZ
• must not be directly installed outside or inside, it should be integrated in a fuse box which is
protected from the rain, any spraying from cleaning or watering, and UV rays (sun).
• must be placed in a fuse box which is, in turn, on a flat and stable support which is firmly attached
to the wall or its support.
The piezoelectric switch connection is established on the terminal block at the top of the module,
and the supply and the output points should be connected to the terminal block at the bottom of the
module, according to the diagram below;

5. Configuration
To access the configuration switches, the front panel must be unclipped using a flat screwdriver.
Place the screwdriver as indicated on the photo below on the right of the front panel to unclip it and
display the configuration switches;
The configuration switches will enable the smart controller for piezoelectric switch MPZ to be
placed in the desired operating mode. A flat screwdriver is needed to activate the switches. Each
switch may only be in two positions; it will either be positioned down (OFF position), or up (ON
position).

5.1. Piezoelectric RGB markers
It is possible to activate the "marker" mode. In activated marker mode, when the smart controller
for piezoelectric switch MPZ is in an initial position (Seq. 1 of table 5.2, i.e. considered to be off),
the RGB lighting of the piezoelectric button is activated to allow the button to be detected. There
is a choice of several marker modes;
To select the marker mode, you must:
1. Cut the power supply of the smart controller for piezoelectric switch MPZ.
2. Configure programming switches no. 4, 5 and 6 according to the table below.
3. Press the button on the front side of the module and hold it down.
4. Power up by keeping the button pressed down.
5. Release the button.
The RGB lighting of the button flashes a particular colour according to the mode selected to
validate the selection. (see table below)
The module indicator flashes a certain number of times according to the mode selected to val-
idate the selection. (see table below)
6. Cut the power supply of the smart controller for piezoelectric switch MPZ.
Re-configure the switches according to the desired modes and time outs (see 5.2
and 5.3) after each configuration prior to powering up again!

5.3. Time out
Switch No. 3 allows the time delay mode to be activated or not. In time delay mode, the smart
controller for piezoelectric switch MPZ will return to the initial position (Seq. 1 of table 5.2) after
the time out duration, which may in turn be selected using switches No. 4 to No. 6;
No. 3 No. 4 No. 5 No. 6 Programmed duration

gardless of the positions of No. 4 to No. 6)

Consider reconfiguring the switches according to the desired modes and time
outs after each marker mode has been configured (see 5.1)

6. Operation
6.1. Start-up
After configuring the desired marker and operating modes, you can power up the installation.
As soon as it is powered up, the smart controller for piezoelectric switch MPZ must switch on. A
colour gradient is then seen on the RGB lighting of the piezoelectric button (if available), followed
by a reminder of the marker operating mode (see 5.1 - column 6) by four flashes.
The module and the RGB lighting of the button then assume their initial status, corresponding to
the "Seq 1" column of the table in 5.2, regardless of the selected mode.
After the sector is cut, the device will always re-start in this status ("off").
6.2. Use
With each impulse received from the piezoelectric button, and whenever the local control is pressed,
the module will advance in its sequences according to the table in 5.2.
Once the final sequence is reached, the module resumes its initial status on the next command (Seq.
1).
If a time out is selected, whenever the piezoelectric button or the local command is pressed, a timer
is launched according to the requested duration. At the end of this timer, if no activity is detected,
the MPZ module returns to its initial status (Seq. 1).

6.3. RGB LED command
If RGB lighting is present on the button and this is connected according to the diagram in 4.2, this
button will light up according to the following conditions;
Colour Description
Colour gradient Power up
OFF/marker according to the configured mode
(see 5.1) No active output no pressed button detected
Red flash Detection of a pressed button (piezo or local)
Blue(fixedor flashing according to themodesee
5.1) PZ1 output active
Green (fixed or flashing according to the mode
see 5.1) PZ2 output active
Cyan (Blue+Green) PZ1 and PZ2 output points active
If you want to change colours, you can cross the R/G/B thread in the output of
the smart controller for piezoelectric switch MPZ.

6.4. Multi-function module indicator
The multi-function indicator, present on the front side of the smart controller for piezoelectric switch
MPZ allows its status to be displayed according to the following table:
Status of the indicator Meaning
Switched off No electrical supply.
Regular flash (1 flash every 5 seconds) Stand-by. Waiting for the switch to be activated,
the 2 output points are off.
Flashing (every second)
In time delay mode, meaning that the time out
is under way. At least one output point is active
and at the end of the time out, return to the initial
position.
Switched on In non time delay mode, meaning that at least
one output point is active.
