Warning: This equipment is designed to provide metered doses of ph corrector especially
for swimming pools.
If it is to be used with another type of solution, please check the compatibility of the
equipment with the manufacturer.
Its use with hydrochloric acid at more than 10% solution is not recommended.
When the device is metering doses, the pump does not run continuously but for
about 1 minute in 2.

INTRODUCTION
The system is started up with the switch on the front of the box.
This adjustment device maintains the pH level of your pool using an acid (pH-) or
alkaline (pH+) solution. The user can parameterise the PHILEO in pH- or pH+ mode. In
pH- mode, the PHILEO injects acid into the pool and in pH+ mode, it injects an alkaline
solution.
The PHILEO, specially designed for swimming pool water, adjusts the pH to between
6.2 and 8.5. To obtain the smallest adjustment, dosing is done proportionally: the speed
of dosing is in proportion to the difference in relation to the pH. The rate of injection can
vary between 0,1 l/h and 0,9 l/h.
The user must calibrate the probe when using the device for the first time. To this end,
simply follow the instructions in the CALIBRATION paragraph.
OPERATION
The PHILEO comes with a pull-down menu for viewing the status of the PHILEO'S
different variables. Moreover, this pull-down menu is used to access the
"ADJUSTMENTS" menu, for adjusting the device.
THE STATUS MENU
Scrolling through this menu is done with keys and . This menu's different displays
are the following:
pH+ →7.6/7.2 1.5L
The first indication on the left of the screen corresponds to the dosing mode
(pH+/pH-/ON/OFF) (see pH Menu) then a cross signals if the filtration is running. The
pH value measured by the probe and the set point are then displayed (see pH
Menu). The injected pH volume during the last 24 hours appears on the right of
the screen.

pH MENU
With this display the user has access to different possible settings. To enter in the
menu press the key.
The user can here configurate the operation of the pH regulation.
To scroll down the menu use the keys and . The different displays are the
following:
pH setting = 7.2
This screen is used to set the pH set point. To vary this value use the keys and
. To validate the value press the key.To exit the menu without validation press
the key
pH dosing= pH-
With this screen you can choose the regulation mode. Press the key and choose
the requested mode with the keys and .
The different adjustment modes are as follows :
- pH- MODE: For injecting an acid solution and hence lower pool pH. The pump starts
up when the water pH exceeds the pH set point.
- pH+ MODE: for injecting an alkaline product and hence increasing pool pH. The
pump starts up when the pH of the water is less than the pH set point.
- ON MODE: For injecting an alkaline or acid product continuously and with no setting.
This mode can be used for priming the pump.
- OFF MODE: for stopping product injection. This mode can be used when wintering,
for example.
To validate the mode press the . key To leave the programme without
validating press the key.
V/24h=2.0L (pH)
This screen allows the maximum allowable daily injection volume to be set.
To this end simply press the key and choose the daily volume using the keys v
and .
Volume adjustment is in litres. To validate the set volume, simply press . To leave
the programme without validating the mode, press .
ATTENTION If this value is left at 0 litre, there would be no limit on the volume
injected per day. Therefore, it would be wise to set a value for this parameter.

The maximal allowable volume depends on the pool volume, the water quality used
to fill the pool. This value must be set by the installer during commissioning.
Vol. Tank = 20L (pH)
This screen allows you to set the volume of the pH tank.
The volume is adjustable from 0 to 25L. To set it just press the key and choose the
required volume using the keys and .
To set the value press the key. To leave the programme without validating the
mode press the key.
NOTE: As the PHILEO injects product into the pool, the previously set value is
decreased. When this value reaches 0, the PHILEO’s pump stops. For the pump to
start up again, the user must top up the tank as described above.
If the volume is set at 0, there will be no pH level control.
pH Calibration
This screen is used for probe calibration. This operation must be performed when
starting up the PHILEO for the first time and then repeated about once a month. There
are two solutions supplied with the PHILEO to be used for calibration: a PH7 and a
PH9 solution.
To begin the calibration press the key. PHILEO then displays CAL. pH7 :x.x ?.
This means the user must plunge the probe into the PH7 solution, wait until the pH
value stabilises and then press on the key. If the value is correct the calibration
process goes on otherwise the Err. ! message flashs, meaning that the
calibration has to be undertaken once again pressing the key.
PHILEO then displays CAL. pH9 :x.x ?. The probe must be plunged in the pH9
solution (after cleaning it) and then press the key.
If the calibration has been successfully completed, the message Calibration pH
appears on the display. However should the Err. ! message appear, the calibration
should be repeated after checking the solutions and the condition of the probe. If the
problem remains, contact your dealer.

SETTINGS MENU
A number of the adjustments listed in this menu can have significant consequences
on the operating of the device This menu is reserved for the installer and is only
displayed when the main key is kept pressed during powering on (installer mode).
SETTINGS
This screen provides access to the PHILEO’s different adjustment options.
To access the settings menu press the and keys. The different displays are as
follow :
Language
This menu allows any one of 8 languages to be chosen for the PHILEO menu :
French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch or Czech.
Reset
This screen is used to reinitialise and reset to 0 the various PHILE0 meters.
The hour meter, the total quantity of injected liquid are reset to 0.
RESET overrides previous calibrations.
In installer mode the total injected volume since the first operation (or last reset) is
displayed.

INJECTOR INSTALLATION
The injector is used to inject the required amount of acid or alkaline solution to correct
the pH of the water. The injector must be positioned after the pH probe and as close as
possible to the outlet into the pool.

INSTALLATION DIAGRAM
The various PHILEO components to be onto the piping of the swimming pool are:
- The pH probe, which must be positioned directly after the filter with eventually other
measuring instruments. To this end, a 63 or 50 mm clamp saddle is used.
- The acid or alkaline solution injector is positioned just before the outlet into the pool.
To this end, a 63 or 50 mm tightening band is used.
If a heater and an electrolytic cell are used, they should be placed between the pH
probe and the injector (acid or alkaline solution), as shown in the diagram below.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Before connecting the PHILEO to the mains, check that the device is protected by a
30mA residual current device.
Supply must be permanent and fully protected from any eventual overvoltage or
under voltage.
The PHILEO dosing pump can function only when the filtration pump of the pool is in
operation. To this end, the PHILEO electrical box comes with a socket on the front and
a connector with 5 metres of cable.
Both wires of this connector must be connected to a dry contact of the filtration
pump. Dry contact means potential free and should be used only for one
device.
If a CCEI filtration box is being used, this dry contact can be taken from
terminals 7 and 8 (for GC type contactors) and terminals 13 and 14 (for LC1 type
contactors) if these terminals have not already been used.

In the case of a filtration box of a different make, this dry contact must be taken directly
from filtration contactor or a relay or an added parallel connection.
ATTENTION : The servoing connection to the filtration should never be shunted.
