ATTENTION!
Before using the machine, carefully read the instructions contained
in this manual.
Always wear hearing protection.
RISK OF HEARING DAMAGE
Under normal operating conditions, this machine may cause the
operator to be exposed to a personal and daily noise level of over
85 db (A).
Wear protective goggles, gloves and safety footwear.
Avoid prolonged exposure to vibration.
When operating, keep hands well away from dangerous areas.
Avoid clothing which could be a cause of danger to personal safety.

2. DESCRIPTION (Ref. to Fig. 1)

3.1) Control grip
The control grip has been designed to provide easy and comfortable access to the operating but-
tons both in vertical and horizontal positions (Ref. to fig. 8, 9).
Refer to Fig. 2 and operate as follows:
Horizontal use - Hold the control grip so as to use SAFETY INTERLOCK (15H) and ACCELERATOR
BUTTON (02H).
Vertical use - Hold the control grip so as to use SAFETY INTERLOCK (15V) and ACCELERATOR BUT-
TON (02V).
To facilitate starting the wrench, the accelerator must be locked in the semi-acceleration position.
To do this follow the operations below in the order given:
1. Move the selector (13) to position
5.
2. Hold the control grip (01) so the
safety interlock (15) is pressed.
3. Press fully and hold the accelerator
button (02).
4. Press the accelerator lock button
(11) and release the accelerator,
which will remain locked in the
semi-acceleration position.
After starting engine (see § 5), operate
the accelerator (02) which, on release,
will bring the the engine to the mini-
mum revs.
To avoid accidental acceleration, the safety interlock must always be pressed before the
accelerator button is operated.
3.2) Assembly / disassembly of sockets (available separately)
The wrench is preset to receive sockets available on the market having the following features:
– Specified for impact tooling.
– Assemble on to 25.4 mm (1”) square shaft with through bore.
Before use, always check to make sure the socket shows no signs of breakage or particular
wear. If the socket does not fit tightly on the square shaft this could result in a loss of power and
excessive wear of components.

To assemble the socket (Ref. to Fig. 7 page 67):
1Slide the socket onto the square shaft (08) lining up the bores of the socket and the shaft (Ref. to
Fig. 7a).
2Fully insert the central split pin of “CLIP-NR”into the through bore, ensuring the sprung arms are
correctly located in the slot around the socket (Ref. to Fig. 7b).
To disassemble the socket, extract “CLIP-NR”by simultaneous lateral pushing on both ends of the
sprung arms (Ref. to Fig. 7c).
Keep the “CLIP-NR” in a safe place to avoid loss or damage.
Any accessory (extension, adapter, joint, socket) must be specified for use with impact
tools.
The use of unsuitable accessories could lead to breakage.
3.3) Torque adjustment (Ref. to Fig. 3)
Thewrench is equipped with a system which allowstorquelimita-
tion on tightening and loosening.
For particular requirements it is possible to vary the torque by
means of a 5 position selector (13).
To select torque values, simply turn the selector in one direction
or the other.
Usually selector (13) is set:
–in the tightening phase on low torque settings,
pos. 1 - 2 - 3.
–in the loosening phase on high torque settings,
pos. 3 - 4 - 5.
3.4) Setting the rotation direction (Ref. to Fig. 4)
The rotation direction of the shaft is set using the 3 position
selector (12):
: right sense of rotation, to tighten.
: idle position (main shaft gears disengaged).
: left sense of rotation, to loosen.
WARNING: adjustment of selector (12) must always be carried out with the engine
switched off or idling to ensure correct engagement of gears.
Once a rotation direction has been set, the rotation of the square shaft will be achieved only by
increasing the revs of the engine consequent to automatic intervention of the centrifugal clutch.
3.5) Operation
With the impact wrench placed on the ground on a flat surface, carry out the following in the order
shown:
– Add fuel mixture to the tank (see § 4).
– Choose the socket appropriate to the work to be carried out and assemble it on the square shaft
(see § 3.2).

– Make sure the rotation direction selector (12) is in position “N” (idle position).
– Start the engine by following the procedure in § 5.
– Make sure the torque selector (13) is adjusted to the torque setting required (see § 3.3).
– Lift the wrench and move it to the work location.
– Position the socket over the head of the screw, bolt or nut, so it is completely inserted into the
socket (Ref. to Figs. 8 and 9).
– With the engine at minimum revs, set the rotation direction of the wrench (see § 3.4).
– Keeping a tight grip the wrench increase the speed of the motor to the number of revs required
by using the accelerator (02): in this way the impact striker will come into action with consequent
tightening/loosening of the fastening device.
– On finishing the operation, release the accelerator.
Theimpactwrenchcan be usedindependentlyorinconjuntionwith the Cembresupporttrolley
(Ref. to Figs. 10, 11) and appropriate interface device (see § 8).
– The impact wrench can be used in vertical position with support trolley by fitting interface device
type KCS-NR .
– The impact wrench can be used in horizontal position with support trolley by fitting interface
device type KHOR-NR.
4. FUEL MIXTURE PREPARATION
Risk of explosion or fire, petrol is extremely flammable, handle with caution.
Risk of intoxication, avoid inhalation of petrol vapours.
Risk of irritation, avoid prolonged and repeated contact with skin.
The impact wrench motor is two stroke and functions on an oil-petrol mixture.
To ensure the correct amount of oil is used in the mixture, use the calibrated measure provided
(see figure).
To get the best performance from the motor we suggest using synthetic oil for 2 stroke motors
in the ratio of 1:50 (2 %).
As an alternative use mineral oil for 2 stroke motors in the
ratio of 1:25 (4 %).
Always use good quality oil.
We recommend a minimum 90 octane petrol.
Mix petrol and oil together well and prepare only enough for immediate use as the
mixture will age and if several weeks old may cause engine damage.
Always use the correct fuel mixture to avoid:
1-Motorsmokinganddirtyingofthesparkplugshouldthemixturebetoorichwithoil.
2 - Excessive overheating with consequent seizing of the motor should the mixture
be lacking in oil.

– Move rotation selector (12) to position“N”(see § 3.4).
PRELIMINARY PHASE:
– Press the easy start button (D) (Fig. a).
– Draw mixture into the carburettor by pressing primer (P) 5- 6 times
(Fig. b).
With motor cold:
– Move switch (14) to position“ - START “ (Fig. c)
With engine hot or in hot environment:
– Move switch (14) to position“ ” .
– Lock accelerator (02) in the start position (see § 3.1).
– Give one or two rapid and energetic tugs on the starter cord
(Fig. d).
– Move switch (14) to position“ ” .
STARTING:
– Pull the starter cord until the engine starts.
Note: in order to make it easier to pull the starter cord, always press easy start
button before each pull.
To avoid damage, always follow through with the cord as it rewinds and do not
pull it beyond its stroke.
– Allow the wrench to“warm up”for 2 minutes prior to commence-
ment of work.
NOTE:theeffectivepoweroftheenginewillbereachedaftersettling
inovertheuse of 2 tanks offuelduringwhichtimethe wrenchmust
not be used at top speed and/or for intense or prolonged periods.
– To switch off the motor, release the accelerator (02), then move the
switch (14) to the“O - STOP”position (Fig. e-f).

5.1) Carburettor
The carburettor is factory set for optimum performance and adjustment should be avoided.
5.2) Adjust idling
In case of unstable running at idle speed, allow a short warm-up period then (Ref. to Fig. 6):
Remove the filter cover and adjust the screw (M) so the engine runs in a stable condition at mini-
mum revs. (2600 - 2800 rpm).
In idling position the transmission shaft must not turn.
OPERATING IN WINTER (Ref. to Fig. 5)
To optimise carburettor function when operating in temperatures below 10°C we advise mixing
cold air with the hot air coming from the cylinder area so as to pre-heat the intake air. To do this
all that is required is to:
– Remove the cover and air filter (see § 6.1.1) placing the cover (C) in view.
– Loosen screw (X) and turn the position the inlet cap (C), tighten screw (X).
– On completion, replace the air filter and cover.

Before servicing or removing any parts, stop the engine and allow it to cool.
Always remove the spark plug cap from the spark plug when servicing the engine to
prevent accidental starting.
6.1) ORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Avoid placing the wrench on dusty or muddy ground.
After each day’s use, carefully clean the wrench with a cloth making sure to remove any dirt it has
picked up, paying particular attention to moving parts and the anvil zone.
Carry out the following operations at regular intervals:
– With the impact wrench in horizontal position, check the level of the oil in the gearbox/re-
duction gear through the transparent port (06) (Ref. to Fig. 15a), if necessary top up (see §
6.2.3).
– Check and if necessary tighten all nuts and bolts.
– Check the rubber shock absorbers which dampen anvil vibrations at the handgrip.
6.1.1) Cleaning the air filter (once a week)
Move switch (14) to position“0“ to facilitate removal and insertion of the filter.
– Unscrew knob (C) and remove the cover (Ref. to Fig.13).
– Unscrew the two screws (B) and extract the filter.
– To remove dust and dirt, half open the filter and blow clean using compressed air.
– On completing the cleaning operation, reassemble all parts.
Operating in dusty condition may require more frequent maintenance.
Do not operate the engine with the air filter removed.
6.1.2) Cleaning the spark plug (once a month)
– Unscrew knob (C) and remove the cover (Ref. to Fig.13).
– Disconnect the spark plug cable and remove the rubber ring (G) (Ref. to Fig. 14).
– Unscrew the spark plug using the 19 mm socket supplied.
– Use a wire brush to remove any dirt from the electrode, being careful not to damage the ceramic
support.
– Check, and if necessary, adjust the distance of the electrodes to 0.5 mm.
– Install the spark plug, replace the rubber ring (G), reconnect the cable and assemble the cover.
– Should the spark plug require changing use ACTIVE MR80 type or equivalents
(NGK CMR5H).
6.1.3) Cleaning the fuel filter (once every 6 months)
– Using the 4 mm Allen wrench supplied, remove the red side protection shield by unscrewing
the fixing screws (Ref. to Fig. 12a).

– Remove the grommet from the tank and extract the filter (Ref. to Fig. 12b).
– Clean the filter with a non-flammable solvent or one with a high inflammability level.
– Carefully dry the filter before reassembling.
– Reassemble all parts.
– Replace the filter once a year.
Warning: improper use of solvents could cause fire or explosion.
6.2) EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
6.2.1) Checking the impact unit
The impact striker and anvil are subject to wear. Should a noticable loss of torque be detected over
intense and/or prolonged operation, check these components for wear.
6.2.2) Changing grease in the impact unit (at least once a year)
Under normal operating conditions, replace the grease in the unit at least once a year, to maintain
efficiency and performance.
Maintenance operations described in § 6.2.1 and 6.2.2 require qualified personnel.
6.2.3) Changing oil in the gearbox/reduction gear (every 4 years)
To top up or change the oil in the gearbox/reduction gear:
– Turn the wrench over.
– Using a 5 mm Allen wrench unscrew the cap with magnetic insert (T) (Ref. to Fig. 15).
– To change the oil, lean the wrench over to facilitate complete emptying of the oil.
– Carefully remove any metal residue from the magnetic insert (T).
– Add oil, MAX. 190 ml.
– Replace the cap (T) and screw it on tightly.
Ensure that used oil is disposed of in accordance with current legislation.
Always use clean recommended oil, see § 1.
Do not use old or recycled oil.
6.3) PREPARATION FOR LONG INACTIVITY
– Completely empty the fuel tank.
– Start the engine and run it over until it stops, to ensure the carburettor is also empty.
– Remove the spark plug (see § 6.1.2).
– Pour 3-5 cc of engine oil into the cylinder.
– Pull the starting cord slowly several times to guarantee a good spread of the motor oil poured
into the cylinder and then reassemble the spark plug.
– Using a clean cloth, wet it with oil and rub all the metal parts of the machine.
– Store the machine in a dry place in its metal case (see § 8), protecting it from knocks and con-
tamination.

3.1) Poignée de commande
La poignée de commande double a été spécialement étudiée afin de permettre une utilisation pra-
tique et confortable de la boulonneuse, tant en position verticale que horizontale (Voir Fig. 8 et 9).
Pour une utilisation en position horizontale - Prendre la poignée de façon à agir sur le levier de
sûreté (15H) et sur le bouton poussoir d’accélérateur (02H).
Pour une utilisation en position verticale - Prendre la poignée de façon à agir sur le levier de sûreté
(15V) et la gâchette d’accélérateur (02V).
Afin de faciliter l’opération de mise en route de la machine, il est nécessaire de bloquer l’accélérateur
en position de demi-accélération; pour ce faire, accomplir dans l’ordre les opérations suivantes:
1. Placer le selecteur (13) dans la posi-
tion 5.
2. Saisir la poignée (01) en pressant le
levier de sûreté (15).
3. Appuyersurl’accélérateur(02) etle
maintenir complètement pressé.
4. Presser le bouton de blocage (11)
et relâcher l’accélérateur (02) qui
restera bloqué dans la position de
demi-accélération.
Après le démarrage du moteur, (voir §
5) actionner à nouveau l’accélérateur
(02) qui, en se débloquant, portera le
moteur au régime de ralenti.
Pour éviter les accélérations involontaires, il est impossible d’actionner l’accélérateur sans
presser le levier de sûreté.
3.2) Montage/démontage des douilles (fournies séparément)
La boulonneuse est conçue pour recevoir des douilles (clés) standards du commerce avec les
caractéristiques suivantes:
– Douilles à chocs exclusivement.
– Fixation sur carré entraÎneur de 1 pouce (25,4 mm), avec orifice.
Avant l’emploi, vérifier toujours que la douille ne présente aucuns signes particuliers de cassure
ou d’usure. Si la douille ne s’emboîte pas parfaitement sur le carré de l’arbre, il pourrait y avoir
une perte de puissance et une usure excessive des composants.

Pour le montage de la douille, il suffit (Voir Fig. 7 pag. 67):
1D’enfiler la douille sur le carré entraîneur (08) en alignant les orifices de la douille et du carré (voir
Fig. 7 a).
2Insérer complètement le ressort “CLIP-NR” (fourni avec la boulonneuse) dans le trou de la douille
(voir Fig. 7 b).
Pour le démontage de la douille, extraire le ressort “CLIP-NR” en agissant en même temps sur les
deux boucles prévues à cet effet (voir Fig. 7 c).
Ranger le ressort “CLIP-NR” dans un endroit sûr pour éviter de le perdre.
Tous les accessoires employés (rallonge, adaptateur, articulation, douilles) doivent être
spécifiques pour dispositifs à chocs.
L’emploi d’accessoires non appropriés pourrait entraîner des cassures.
3.3) Réglage du couple (Voir Fig. 3)
La machine est dotée d’un système qui permet de limiter le couple
lors des opérations de vissage ou de dévissage. En cas de besoin
particulier, il est possible de varier le couple à l’aide du sélecteur
(13) à 5 positions différentes.
Pour sélectionner les valeurs de couple, il suffira de tourner le
sélecteur dans un sens ou dans l’autre.
Normalement, il faut mettre le sélecteur (13):
–lors du vissage, sur des valeurs de couple basses,
positions 1 - 2 - 3.
–lors du dévissage, sur des valeurs de couple hautes,
positions 3 - 4 - 5.
3.4) Définition du sens de rotation (Voir Fig. 4)
Pourdéfinir le sensderotationdel’arbre, actionner le sélecteur (12).
3positionsdifférentessontdéfiniesparrapportaurepèresupérieur:
: sens de rotation à droite, pour visser.
: position de point mort (engrenages dégagés de l’arbre principal).
: sens de rotation à gauche, pour dévisser.
ATTENTION: la rotation du sélecteur (12) doit toujours être exécutée moteur éteint ou
au régime ralenti pour permettre l’enclenchement correct des engrenages sur l’arbre
principal.
Dès qu’un sens de marche est enclenché, on obtiendra la rotation de l’arbre en augmentant le
régime du moteur grâce à l’action automatique de l’embrayage centrifuge.
3.5) Fonctionnement
Machine posée au sol sur une surface plane, accomplir dans l’ordre, les opérations suivantes:
– Ajouter le mélange du carburant dans le réservoir (voir § 4).
– Choisir la douille adaptée au travail à réaliser et la monter sur le carré entraîneur (voir § 3.2).
