Installation Instructions
1. Park vehicle in the garage.
2. Suspend the ball on string from the garage ceiling,
so that it touches the windshield (see Figure 1).
3. Mark the ceiling location and install an eyelet.
Temporarily tie the cord at this eyelet, keeping the
ball in touch with the windshield.
4. Remove the vehicle from the garage and close the
garage door.
5. Measure the distance from the eyelet to the ball.
This distance will be referred to as “X” in charts
1 and 2.
6. Determine your type of garage door (see below),
and follow the remaining steps for the installation
of eyelets 2 and 3.
7. From the appropriate chart, locate your “X” figure
and determine the 2nd eyelet position.
Measure this distance from the header wall, in line
with the first eyelet, and position the second
eyelet.
8. Install the third eyelet on top of the garage door in
line with eyelets one and two. (NOTE: If your door
is made of fiberglass or metal, drill a 1/16" pilot
hole and thread in the eyelet.)
9. Release the temporary tie at the first eyelet.
Thread the cord through the first, second and third
eyelets.
10.To complete the installation, follow the instructions
for your garage door type.
Sectional and 1-Piece Horizontal Track Doors
Pull cord through the third eyelet until the ball reaches
the first eyelet. Tie securely to the third eyelet and cut
off excess cord.
One-Piece Jamb and Pivot Type Doors
Pull cord through the third eyelet until top of ball is 12"
below the first eyelet. Tie securely to the third eyelet
and cut off excess cord.
