Check Engine or other warning lights
with OnStar (if equipped)
If your vehicle is equipped with OnStar
and your Check Engine Light or any
other warning message appears, you
can press the blue OnStar button and
speak to an OnStar Advisor. In many
vehicles, OnStar Advisors can access
certain diagnostic information and tell
you how serious the problem is and
what you should do about it.
See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.
SAFETY & SECURITY
(Unlock): Press this button to unlock
the driver’s door. If the button is pressed
again within five seconds, all remaining
doors will unlock. (This is the default
DIC setting for Vehicle Unlocking.)
The interior lamps will illuminate and
remain on for 20 seconds or until the
ignition is turned on. If enabled through
the DIC, the parking lamps will flash
twice and the horn will chirp twice to
indicate unlocking has occurred.
(Vehicle Locator/Panic Alarm):
Press and hold this button for approxi-
mately one second to locate your vehi-
cle. The horn will sound three times and
the parking lamps will flash three times.
To sound the panic alarm, press and
hold the button for three seconds. The
horn will sound and the parking lamps
will flash for 30 seconds. Press the but-
ton again or turn the ignition key to any
position to cancel the panic alarm.
The vehicle must be turned off to use
these features.
See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.
Remote Keyless Entry
(Remote Start)
(if equipped):
If your vehicle has
this feature, it can
be used to start
the engine. (See
Remote Vehicle
Start.)
(Lock): Press
this button when all
doors are closed to immediately lock
them.
The interior lamps will also turn off. If
enabled through the Driver Information
Center (DIC), the parking lamps will
flash once and/or the horn will chirp to
indicate locking has occurred.
If the Lock button is pressed while any
door is open and the Delayed Lock fea-
ture is enabled, the doors will not lock,
but a chime will sound. Once all doors
are closed, they will lock. To cancel this
delay, press the Lock button a second
time within five seconds or press the
power door lock switch.
For your safety, all doors will automati-
cally lock when the shift lever is moved
out of Park with an automatic transmis-
sion, or when the vehicle speed is
greater than 5 mph (8 km/h) with a
manual transmission.
This feature cannot be disabled; how-
ever, you can personalize the unlock
features by using the Driver Information
Center.
See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.
