GENERAL INFORMATION
This manual contains information for a practical, correct and
safe use of the device and is intended for reading by
specialized personnel and the user of the product. It is
recommended that you carefully read the entire manual
before using the product. If there are any doubts or
clarifications, please contact the retailer who will be able to
advise you correctly.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND
INFORMATION
2.1 DESCRIPTION
Standing frames are adjustable in height and have four
wheels, at least two with brakes. The decision on which model
to use is based on the patient’s residual motor and
coordination skills and can only be made by physicians with
adequate specialization.
Depending on the model, the user can get up manually,
clinging to the large side handles and the edges of the tray, or
by means of an electric motor with rechargeable battery,
operated by hand control, or servo-assisted by a gas spring.
It features oversized handles to provide standing support, as
well as a large tray to hold items.
The aid is easy to access and can be adapted to the user’s
morphological characteristics through a wide range of
adjustments. In particular, the main body can be adjusted
according to the user’s height by means of a servo-assisted
system by the gas spring or by an electric motor.
2.2 INTENDED USE
Aid intended for people with reduced mobility, muscle
strength, movements and stability to assume and maintain
an upright posture. Some models also allow autonomous
mobility within the home.
It is forbidden to use the device for purposes
other than those defined in this manual

2.3 USERS
People with reduced mobility, the elderly and the disabled,
who can hardly bear their own weight and who cannot
independently assume an upright posture.
It is up to the specialist to judge the patient’s
physical fitness for using the product.
It is always recommended to use it under the
supervision of the operator
2.4 GROUPS OF PATIENTS AND CLINICAL CONDITIONS
There are no particular categories of patients that can be
excluded except patients who show evident conditions of
impossibility of access to the aid.
2.5 USAGE ENVIRONMENT
The aid is suitable for use in a clinical / hospital environment
and in the home. Use on flat, dry, stable surfaces with no
obstacles. Not usable outside.

specifications given in this manual
-There useful life of the product is 10 years in
compliance with the correctness of the execution of the
ordinary maintenance operations provided for in this
manual. Battery life is highly dependent on the number
of charge and discharge cycles and on the temperature
of use. More details can be found in the paragraph on
batteries. Use of the device beyond the declared useful
life is strictly prohibited. At the end of the useful life it is
possible to proceed according to the procedures
illustrated in the relevant paragraph

3.6 CONTRAINDICATIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS
There are no known side effects or contraindications.
Always read the warnings before use.
It can generate involuntary muscle contractions.
Contraindicated to users with trunk and upper
limb control deficits
Contraindicated to users with joint limitation of
the knees and / or coxo - femoral and / or ankle.
Contraindicated to users with structural
deficiency in the lower limbs.
3.7 RESTRICTIONS ON USE
Always use in accordance with the intended use and with
patients who comply with the weight requirements indicated
on the product label.
Maximum patient weight: 140 kg.

The physical and mental fitness of the user to
use the equipment must be approved by a
specialist.
Do not pour liquids directly on the equipment.
Do not use the lifting system continuously,
respect the duty-cycle indicated in the
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Always unplug the charger when using and / or
moving the appliance.
Disconnect the batteries before any
intervention on the equipment circuits.
Do not connect to an electrical system that does
not comply with the Standards in force for the
same.
Do not disconnect the battery charger, the
handset and the motor by pulling the cable, but
always grasping the body of the plug.
Turn off the equipment when not in use to
conserve battery power

Not all the obtainable combinations exist, for more
information refer to the manufacturer’s website or contact
the manufacturer himself.
There are standard starting configurations, with a pre-
configured code on which it is possible to vary some options
such as the patient support, the foot rest platforms or the
support surface.
PACKAGE CONTENT AND PRODUCT
FEATURES
The product is delivered in suitable cardboard packaging so
that it can be received intact and in working order. To open
the packaging and extract its contents, pay attention to the
warnings and symbols shown on the packaging itself.
Dispose of packaging and waste material in an appropriate
manner and following the information on the packaging and
in this manual. The version for independent mobility has the
new Joystick holder that is fixed to the handles only for
shipping. Before use, find the best position for the joystick,
see the paragraph on positioning the joystick.

Depending on the configuration chosen, the product may
have some different characteristics.

The variants indicated with the name of Struzzo 500 are those
that have a base with drive wheels for autonomous mobility.
The variants with RC indicate the availability of the remote
control or its predisposition. The letters in the highlighted
positions are those that can be configured as reported in the
paragraph on the available configurations (4)

are those that allow assisted lifting with an electric motor and
differ from each other for the height adjustment, which can

The variants indicated with the name of Stand-Up 100, 200,
300, 400 and 500 are those that allow a wider choice of lifting
and height adjustment and differ from the easy-up models
for the possibility of adjusting independently the height of the
table with respect to the rest of the structure and does not
depend on the lifting mechanism.

5.3 THE JOYSTICK
The models that provide autonomous mobility have a driving
system consisting of a joystick for moving and the drive
wheels.
There are two Joystick models, based on the purchased aid
model. They differ in shape, size and type of user experience,
but both have common characteristics.
Compact Model Standard Model
The compact model comes with the power button and top
speed dial set further back than the control handle. Both
Joysticks have the charging connector into which the battery
charger plug, supplied as standard, will be inserted, and the
button for the horn. The control knob is a lever that can be
tilted 360° in space and provides an analog steering system
that provides an even speed distribution from idle to
maximum based on how much tilt the knob is given. To
summarise:

Since the movement takes place from the front drive wheels,
it may be advisable to familiarize yourself with the use of the
joystick control lever to understand how movement occurs in
space. When switched on, the joystick shows the status of the
machine and the battery charge through luminous
indications.
The amount of LEDs lit indicates the percentage of battery
charge.

Generally it is good practice to always keep the batteries
charged, so daily recharging or recharging with low-
discharged batteries is recommended compared to less
frequent recharging or with very discharged batteries. Short
charging cycles extend the life of the batteries. In certain
situations, the charge LEDs take on different meanings, which
are described in detail in the paragraphs below.
5.4 THE HANDSET
Some models of the aid have motorized height adjustment or
motorized lifting support or both. These functions are
activated by using the handset connected to the device via a
long spiral cable, as can be seen from the descriptive photos.
The handset has 4 buttons of different colours. One pair is
dedicated to height adjustment (1) and one pair is for lifting
(2).

5.5 THE REMOTE CONTROL
Some models have the remote steering system, designed
exclusively to approach or move away the aid equipped with
drive wheels. This function allows the patient both to
approach the aid when he needs to stand upright and move
independently, and to move the aid away when he has
finished using it, but there are no people nearby who can
assist him in this regard. In both situations, the situation of
departure or arrival is the patient positioned on a seat or bed
and the aid a few meters away. The control was not designed
for use over long distances, so it has a limited range.
The remote control is coded and has a specific variable code
encryption algorithm linked to a unique identification for
each remote control. This ensures that only the remote
control associated with the aid can work with it and does not
interfere with any other similar aid that may be present in the
vicinity.
Each remote control has a unique identification stamped on
the back and the aid to which it has been associated has a
label with the same identification, to quickly identify which
remote control it has been associated with.
To make the best use of the remote control and understand
the commands more quickly, it is recommended to use it by
turning it 45 ° clockwise. In this way, the correspondence with
the Joystick movement commands is noticeable more quickly.
In this position it is easier to understand in which direction
the movement of the aid will be commanded.

The remote control only works when the aid is in remote
driving mode. This mode can only be activated by entering a
specific sequence, to avoid abuse by third parties. This
sequence is indicated in the chapters dedicated to using the
device (See 7.3.1.4 ).

ASSEMBLY AND FIRST USE
6.1 ASSEMBLY
The device is delivered already assembled and ready for use.
The version for independent mobility has the Joystick holder
which is fixed to the handles only for shipping. Before use,
find the best position for the joystick, see the paragraph on
positioning the joystick. If the model is equipped with
batteries, it is advisable to carry out a complete recharge
before using the device.
6.2 FIRST USE
Before proceeding with the first use it is necessary to read
this instruction manual.
Make sure that the product corresponds to what is described
in this manual and that the contents of the package coincide
with what is described in the relative paragraph.
Before using the product for the first time:
-Check that there are no device components inside the
packaging (screws, nuts, knobs ...)
-Check for obvious signs of damage or tampering
-Check that the knee supports show no signs of damage
-Verify that all knobs or pins for adjustments are present
-Check the rotation and the sliding of the wheels
-Check the correct activation and effectiveness of the
parking brakes
-Check the operation of the height adjustment control
(electric or gas spring)
-Using the height adjustment control, bring the device to
the minimum height and then bring it back to the
maximum height
-Check the operation of the lifting control (electric or with
gas spring if present)
-In the versions with autonomous mobility, turn on the
joystick and check that the drive wheels move in the
given direction.
6.3 INSTRUCTION FOR CORRECT USE
For a correct use of the device, the user moves on it from a
stable and safe wheelchair or from a simple chair or from a
sofa or bed with sufficient stability on the floor. The user must
assume an upright sitting position and hold firmly to the
handles of the AV3 and the chair or wheelchair must not be
able to tip over when the user moves into the AV3 seat. It is
recommended to be assisted during this phase or in any case
to carry out tests in the presence of help to gain confidence
with the operations to be done.
AV3 must be handled on a flat and solid surface, INDOOR
only.
6.4 NON-COMPLIANT USE
AV3 is not suitable for:
Diagnoses
Tracking
Measure
competitive training
Outdoor use
The use of autonomous handling requires responsibility and
must be avoided in the presence of uneven surfaces,
obstacles on the path, including carpets and the presence of
stairs or hatches that are not properly protected.
6.5 UNSAFE USE
Do not use AV3 (electrical versions)
In combination with other devices that emit ionizing
radiation (e.g. radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, etc.)
In environments where:
-There are explosive materials
-There is enriched oxygen
In combination with the
-Flammable anaesthetics
-volatile solvents
In environments with uneven surfaces, obstacles or
hazards that are not protected or signalled.
Do not use the remote control when the patient is on the
aid.
6.6 DISCLAIMER
The manufacturer and its distributors assume no liability as a
result of:
Misuse, incorrect or unintentional use
Failure to comply with this instruction manual
Intention or gross negligence
Too intense training or use, e.g. competitive activity
Outdoor use or movements
Use in combination with inadequate unstable
wheelchairs, chairs, tables or beds
Use of the device, although prohibited by the doctor
or therapist
Installation of unauthorized accessories
Performing repairs or other interventions on the AV3
by persons not authorized by the manufacturer
USE
7.1 WARNINGS BEFORE USE
Before each use make sure that:
The product does not show obvious signs of
tampering or damage
The product has been sanitized in the parts in
contact with the user
The physical and clinical conditions of the user
have been evaluated and that they are
considered suitable for the use of the device
The environment of use is in accordance with the
provisions of this instruction booklet
There are no particular dangers in the areas
adjacent to the device (steps, obstacles,
flammable materials, etc. ...)

There are no oil stains on the floor caused by the
gas spring
If there are batteries, make sure they are always
charged
7.2 INITIAL CONFIGURATIONS
When using the device for the first time, it is advisable to
adjust the settings in relation to the pathological and physical
characteristics of the patient. The setting can be made using
all the adjustments provided for each option. Please contact
your therapist in order to provide all support for the safest
and most comfortable adjustment of the device and
supervise the first use of the device to check if the device is
used safely. See the paragraphs on adjustments (7.5) for all
the adjustments that best suit the model owned.
An incorrect configuration could limit or prevent
the correct use of the device
Adjust the knee support for maximum comfort
and minimum stress on the joints during the
lifting process
Adjust the height of the structure for maximum
comfort and the best position of the body and
limbs
Seat depth adjustment must be done before
starting the transfer from the wheelchair
Before use, check that all adjustment elements
are properly tightened
The distributor and the manufacturer are available to provide
any support for the initial configuration and to provide all
information regarding the safe use of the device. If you have
any doubts about the safety information, do not hesitate to
contact the manufacturer.
The aids are suitable for customizations that can also be
made by the distributor or by the trusted healthcare provider
but no changes must be made to the integrity of the product.
7.2.1 POSITIONING THE JOYSTICK
The AV3 models for independent mobility are equipped with
a Joystick to control the movements of the device inside
homes. The Joystick holder consists mainly of two
adjustments that allow two degrees of freedom for the
positioning and orientation of the Joystick itself. The first
adjustment is used to reach the required position on the table
or on the handles. The second adjustment is used for the
ergonomic positioning of the Joystick.
The adjustment marked with “A”allows you to open and close
the vice to position the Joystick in another point of the table
or tubular. Once the point has been chosen, it is necessary to
tighten the vice by acting on the adjustment “A” until the vice
itself is firmly fixed in the decided point.
The adjustment marked with “B”, on the other hand, allows
you to orient the Joystick in space by rotating around the two
support spheres:
Once the position has been decided it is possible to orient the
joystick along the horizontal plane and along the vertical
plane.
Once the most suitable position has been found, adjustment
B must be tightened as much as possible in order to maintain
this position. If you want a certain adaptability, tighten less,
while if you want absolute stiffness, tighten as much as
possible. Here are some examples of Joystick positioning
seen from above and in profile:
The joystick support is intended to support the
weight of the joystick only, it is absolutely not
intended to support the patient. Therefore it is
advisable to always keep a part of the joystick
body in contact with the table and never lean
with your weight on the joystick or on parts of it
or of the support.
7.3 USE OF THE DEVICE
Before each use, check that all adjustment
elements are properly tightened and that the
batteries are fully charged. If you want to use
the remote control, make sure you have the
remote control handy and that it is charged
Read the instructions carefully to find the correct use based
on the configuration of the device actually owned.

7.3.1 SWITCHING ON AND OFF
Some configurations of the AV3 device contain electric
motors for:
Movement, for independent mobility
Lifting
Structure height adjustment
These devices have a main switch that turns on the entire
system and allows the use of electric motors. The main switch
also activates battery charging when the suitable charger is
connected to the device.
Main power switch
All models that have batteries have a general switch that
serves to electrically disconnect the batteries from the circuit
and preserve their charge. In addition, the switch acts as a
thermal protection in the event of a fault.
To switch on, switch the main switch located under the
service table on the right to “I”. To switch off, switch to “O”.
In the case of AV35x and AV34x models, to activate the lifting
and lifting functions, the guide system must also be switched
on, as shown below.
Activation of the driving system
The models that have the drive wheels for autonomous
mobility have a Joystick to guide the aid inside the house, to
be able to go from one room to another. Regardless of the
model (see 5.3), on the Joystick there is a button to activate
and deactivate the guide marked with the symbol:
To activate, press the power button on the joystick, indicated
by JA in the figure. This will light up green and show the
battery charge status on LEDs, indicated by LD in the figure.
To deactivate the guide, press the button again and it will
switch off, together with the battery status LEDs. The horn
button (JC) is used to emit a sound from the Joystick.
Joystick safety lock and unlock
Sometimes it is useful to lock the Joystick functions for safety
reasons (e.g. children in the house). This way only trained
people can unlock the Joystick and start the movement. To
lock the joystick follow the instructions below:
1) When the device is turned on, press the power button (JA)
for more than 4 seconds
2) The LEDs (LD) in the odd positions (1, 3, 5) will start
flashing for a short time
3)

5) The Joystick is now locked. If the JA button is pressed again,
the LEDs (LD) in the odd positions (1, 3, 5) will flash briefly but
the use of the device will not be possible. After 10 seconds
the Joystick switches itself off.
6) To unlock the joystick again, follow this procedure:
1) Push the power button. The LEDs (LD) in the odd
positions (1, 3, 5) flash briefly and the use of the device
will still not be possible
2) Press the horn button (JC) twice within 10 seconds. The
Joystick LEDs will now light up permanently and device
use will be enabled again.
Activation of the remote guidance system
The AV35x models include a remote steering control system
which serves only to approach and remove the aid when
assistance personnel are temporarily unavailable. This
system allows you to move the aid a few meters using a
remote control only when there is no one on it so that you
have the possibility to approach or move it away from the
position in which you are in order to get on or off the aid.
Activate the remote guide only and exclusively
to move the aid a few meters and only when no
one is on it

control. This range of action is intentionally reduced to a few
meters, about 5m, and may be affected by external
interference, the presence of walls, the state of charge of the
remote control battery. In all ways it is advisable to first test
the remote control in the environment of real use in order to
be confident in the real range of the remote control.
The remote guide is used exclusively to
approach and remove the aid when you are not
on it to free your view and is not intended as an
emergency system. Any failure of the remote
control must not constitute a dangerous
situation
To activate the remote guidance system, a specific sequence
must be entered on the remote control, so that it cannot be
activated by children or by unintentional key presses. Enter
the sequence with a constant cadence with a pause of about
1 second between one key and the next.

If the sequence is entered correctly, it is possible to see the
battery status LEDs on the joystick light up and after a few
seconds two beeps from the joystick horn. From now on, the
remote guidance system is active, and will automatically
deactivate based on one of the following conditions:
1) The power button on the joystick is pressed
2) 10 seconds pass from the last press of any button on
the remote control
The first condition is to bypass the guidance system at any
time if someone accidentally enters the activation sequence
while the patient is still on the aid.
The second condition is to avoid that the system remains
activated for too long and consequently reduces the life of the
batteries.
7.3.2 HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
Before moving to the device, independently or with the help
of an assistant, make sure that the height of the structure is
already in the correct position and that all adjustments have
been made. In the case of assisted standing it is possible to
change the height and position of the seat by means of a gas
spring or electric motors.
For easy access, if a seat has been chosen as a lifting support
(see “Lifting support”- referring to position 9 of the product
code), the seat can be aligned with the user’s seat surface
thanks to the adjustment in height. Such seat alignment as a
starting point can simplify transfer and increase safety. In this
way the user can move from his wheelchair, bed or sofa with
this type of accessibility.
If the model chosen is without a seat, the height can be left
unchanged. The height can be adjusted as shown in the
following images (please only follow the instructions related
to the equipment of your model).
Height adjustment by gas spring
In this case the height adjustment is not done very often, so
it can be done when the device is first adjusted and when
small adjustments are needed.
Identify the release lever of the gas spring for height
adjustment, located on the lateral containment handle near
the respective symbol:
Pull the height adjustment lever to release the gas spring and
change the height of the frame with little force up or down.
Release the lever when you have reached the desired setting.
Height adjustment by electric motor
When lowering is in progress, the column
comes very close to the base. Be careful not to
put your feet in the trapping area to avoid the
risk of crushing
In this case the device is more versatile and the height
adjustment can be done more often without effort with the
use of the hand control.

Push the button on the handset for to increase the
height of the structure or
Push the button on the handset for to decrease the
height of the structure.
When the height of the structure is completely decreased, in
case the device has independent mobility motors, the
movable wheels are raised and there are small wheels useful
for moving the device around (without people on it).
7.3.3 PARKING BRAKE
The parking brake of the rear and front wheels can be used
to prevent unwanted movement of the device when it is not
in use or when the patient is on it. The devices with drive
wheels for autonomous mobility have the parking brake only
on the rear wheels as the drive wheels are self-braking.
To activate the brake, use your foot to operate the lever on
the wheel you want to lock downwards.
To deactivate the brake, use your foot to operate the lever on
the wheel to be released upwards.
7.3.4 TRANSFER TO THE DEVICE
Before transferring the patient to the aid, the patient’s
starting seat must be aligned with the aid seat, or the
proximity of the aid in models where a seat is not provided.
The device can be approached directly with a wheelchair or
can be moved by other people near the patient’s seat. In
models with remote guidance, the device can be approached
using the remote control.
When the patient is in front of the device ready for transfer,
follow the instructions below.
Preparation for the transfer
Before starting the transfer, the following conditions must be
met:
The rear and front wheels are locked (see parking brake)
or if there are drive wheels, check that the latter are well
braked
The wheels of the wheelchair are locked (see the
wheelchair user manual) or the seat is firmly on the
floor.
Transfer in the absence of assisted lifting
In models where there is no assisted lifting (stand-up 500), the
transfer must take place in a single solution and at the same
time the posterior retention system must be closed.
During lifting, the only support for the patient is
his own strength or the strength of the person
assisting him. There is no back protection until
the back support is closed and locked
Follow the steps below:
Open the back support until it is fully open.
Place your feet on the support platforms
With your own strength or with the help of an assistant,
hold onto the side handles and lift yourself up.
close and lock the rear support in place.

Transfer with assisted lifting
In models where lifting is assisted with a motor or gas spring,
the patient support, whether it be the seat or the harness,
must be lowered to the minimum level in order to facilitate
the transfer of the patient to the aid. In the case of lifting
assisted by a gas spring, it is necessary to release the lifting
spring and guide it with the hand towards the lowest position.
In the case of motor-assisted lifting, the handset must be
used to lower the patient support to a minimum, using the
lifting descent button.
Push the button on the handset for lower patient
support (saddle or harness)
Press the buttons or on the handset for
decrease or increase the height of the structure if necessary
The lowering step of the structure should be performed only
if necessary, i.e. when the seat level is much higher than that
of the chair where the patient is sitting:

Once the aid seat is within reach, follow the steps below to
transfer to the device:
Place your feet on the support platforms
With your own strength or with the help of an assistant,
hold on to the side handles and transfer to the device
If you have a model with a sling as a patient support, instead
of transferring to the device, you must hold yourself so that
the person providing assistance can pass the sling under the
patient and hook it to the relative supports.
Only when you are in the seat or harness can you move the
wheelchair away.
7.3.5 LIFTING
Once the patient is on board of the aid, he can be placed in
an upright posture using the lifting assistance present on the
device. Only in the model with no lifting (stand-up 500) the
patient must verticalize with his own strength or with the help
of another person.
Lifting with partial assistance via gas spring
In this case there is a gas spring which provides partial lifting
aid and reduces the patient’s weight. With your own strength
or with the help of an assistant, hold on to the side handles
and prepare for movement, looking for the release lever of
the lifting gas spring, located on the lateral containment
handle near the respective symbol:

The gas spring is not powerful enough to
support the entire weight of the patient, so
once the weight is released, albeit reduced by
the assistance of the spring, it rests on the
patient’s limbs
When ready:
Pull the lifting lever to release the gas spring and at the same
time carry out the lifting movement of the body. The gas
spring will help to partially lift the patient while reducing the
body weight. The lifting phase can be performed in several
steps since the lifting movement can be stopped by releasing
the lifting lever. In this way the patient can exert the effort
later and become less tired. The same rules apply to the
descent.
Lifting completely assisted by electric motor
In this case there is an electric motor that completely assists
the lifting of the patient.
Do not use the lifting motor for a long time.
Observe the duty cycle indications on the label
Incorrect stage setting could generate
compression on the user during lifting if the
anti-crush attachment is not present
Please monitor the patient’s condition and
reactions while the lift is in progress
A wrong configuration of the knee supports can
put stress on the joints during the standing
process
When Ready:
On the handset, locate the buttons for lifting:
Push the button on the handset for raise up patient
support (saddle or harness)
In case of need,
Push the button on the handset for lower patient
support (saddle or harness).
It is advisable to take breaks during lifting to check the
patient’s state of health. Moving from a sitting to a vertical
position often brings about some sudden changes in the
patient’s vascular system and also has repercussions on the
urinary and digestive systems.
If the anti-crushing accessory is present, a possible collision
of the patient’s body immediately stops the ascent function.
The function will be inhibited as long as the button is pressed.
The same recommendations also apply if the patient support
consists of a sling. What differs is the final position which is
less upright:
7.3.6 MOVEMENT WITH LIFTED PATIENT
Once the vertical position has been reached, whatever the
model owned, it is possible to move the aid. If the model is
with drive wheels for autonomous mobility, the patient
himself can manoeuvre the device so that he can reach the
desired place in the house. In the case of all the other models,

the movement is carried out manually by the person assisting
the patient.
Assisted mobility
In the case of manual movement, the person assisting the
patient takes care of moving the structure with the patient on
board. The wheel brakes must be deactivated before carrying
out the manoeuvre. Deactivate the parking brakes as
indicated in the relevant paragraph (7.3.3) and carefully move
the aid using the swivel castors.
Move with caution and without significant
acceleration.
Only move the aid indoors, on flat and obstacle-
free surfaces.
The patient should use the lateral restraint
structures to hold on while moving.
Once the desired position has been reached, it is necessary
to reactivate the parking brakes, reversing the previous
operation.
Mobility in autonomy
In the case of motorized movement, the patient himself who
is on board the aid can manoeuvre the movement using the
Joystick.
Be extremely careful when using the motorized
movement
Use independent mobility only indoors and only
on flat, unobstructed surfaces
Please always set the minimum required speed
Do not use height adjustment or lifting during
movement
Regardless of the joystick model (see details in paragraph 5.3)
once the guidance system has been activated (see paragraph
7.3.1.2) to start the movement simply move the control knob
(JM) in the desired direction.
In detail, the steps are as follows:
If this has not been done before, turn on the joystick by
pressing the power button (JA) to activate the guidance
system
The Joystick turns on and the status LEDs (JE) indicate the
battery charge level. When all the LEDs are lit, the
battery is fully charged. If instead of lighting only the odd
LEDs flash, the Joystick is locked, it must be unlocked
(see 7.3.1.3)
To move, use the control knob (JM) by tilting it in the
desired direction. The speed and acceleration are
adjusted based on the inclination. The maximum speed
is obtained when the joystick control lever is tilted to its
maximum extent
To change the maximum reachable speed, and therefore
the adjustment range of the knob, use the speed dial
(see paragraph 5.3)
7.3.7 DESCENT AND CONCLUSION OF THE SESSION
When the patient wants to end the lifting or autonomous
movement session or no longer needs to use the aid, to get
off the aid he can carry out the operations he has carried out
in reverse. All the operations that require the assistance of
third parties are the same and it is necessary to make sure
that the destination seat is stable and does not move with the
weight of the patient. To transfer from the device to the seat,
once the patient support has been lowered, the person can
transfer independently or with the help of third parties. All
the recommendations set out in the respective paragraphs
are valid. At this point, if you do not plan to use the aid
further, it is advisable to charge it or turn off the main switch
if you do not need to use additional functions, such as moving
by remote control.
7.3.8 BATTERY CHARGING
When the device is not in use, it is recommended that you
recharge the battery for future use. Daily recharging of the
batteries improves their expected life and prevents the device
from discharging during use.
Never leave the device with dead batteries or
never use the device when the batteries are not
fully charged.
Use only the charger supplied by the
manufacturer
To recharge the batteries, the main switch must remain on.
The charging method depends on the model.
Charging models with drive wheels
Models equipped with drive wheels for autonomous mobility
have the charging connector located on the Joystick body (see
also 5.3).

Standard Model Compact Model
Once you have located the XLR connector, insert the charging
plug and connect the charger to the power socket to start
charging.
The charging process takes about 6 hours but sometimes a
complete cycle of 10 hours is required. The charger has an
orange light on it, which lights up when the charging process
is in progress. When the battery is fully charged, a green light
replaces the orange light.
If the orange light does not come on, check that the main
switch is in the “I”position.
Charging models without drive wheels
All models that have at least one electric motor, be it lifting /
lifting or height adjustment, must be recharged using the
charging connector located on the front of the device.
Once the jack is inserted into the device socket, connect the
charger to the power outlet to start charging.
The charging process takes about 10 hours. The charger has
a yellow light that lights up when the charging process is in
progress. When the battery is fully charged, a green light
replaces the yellow light.
7.3.9 REMOTE CONTROLLED MOVEMENT
Some models have the possibility of being moved by remote
control only to store the aid when it is no longer needed or to
resume use of the aid when needed. An example could be the
following:
The patient wants to sit in the chair or chair after using the
aid and watch TV. After getting off the aid on an appropriate
seat, he needs to move the aid a few meters in order to free
the view from the TV.
Similarly, the patient finishes watching TV and wants to
approach the aid in order to be able to stand upright and
move independently.
Activate the remote guide only and exclusively
to move the aid a few meters and only when no
one is on it
Although the speed of movement via the
remote control is limited, attention must always
be paid to every slightest movement because
any collision with the aid can cause injury or
trauma
To be able to move the device using the remote control, it is
necessary to activate the remote guide using the activation
sequence (see paragraph 7.3.1.4). Once the sequence has
been entered, the device can be moved using the remote
control. No more than 10 seconds should pass between one
command and the next, otherwise the device will

The remote control is not intended as a safety
function and any malfunction of the remote
control or the discharge of the battery of the
remote control or the aid must not constitute a
dangerous situation.

7.4 EMERGENCY DESCENT
These indications must necessarily be carried
out by the person assisting the patient on board
the aid
If for some reason the device stops working with the patient
still in an upright position (models with electric motor
assisted lifting only), it is necessary to establish if the problem
depends on whether the battery is completely discharged or
not. If the batteries are completely discharged, you can put
the device in charge using the appropriate charger. After a
few minutes the charge will be sufficient to lower the patient
support to allow it to descend from the device.
If it is not dependent on the batteries, follow this procedure
to free the patient from the device.
The following emergency manoeuvre must be
performed by the person caring for the patient.
If the patient is not able to support himself
autonomously on the lateral containment
structures, it is advisable to have an additional
person present to support the patient.
From the moment the support pin is removed
the patient support is free to fall, be careful to
stop the fall
Approach a suitable seat on which the patient will be
placed after the descent and position it so as to facilitate
the descent of the patient support
Have the patient hold on the lateral containment
structures or on the table or if this is not possible, have it
supported by a person
While holding the patient support (if present), open the
spring and remove the top safety pin from the actuator
(be careful, the patient support is now free to fall down).
If present, remove the patient sling.
Fully lower the patient support to the floor
Help the patient to reach the support seat.
Contact the technical service to identify the cause of the
malfunction
7.5 ADJUSTMENTS
The adjustments below do not apply to all models, please
take those that apply to your device as valid.
7.5.1 FOOTPAD ADJUSTMENT
In most of the models there are platforms for foot support, in
metal or wood. Both are adjustable in depth using a tool or
simply by unscrewing a knob in the case of the metal
footrests. The latter also, unlike the wooden platform, are
individually adjustable,
An incorrect setting of the footplates could
generate compression on the user’s lower limbs
during lifting
Loosen the 4 screws (S and S‘) with the wrench supplied
for the wooden platform, or
Loosen the 2 knobs (K or K‘) of the metal footplate you
want to adjust. Do not unscrew completely, it is enough
to loosen the tightening.
Slide the footplate in the desired direction in or out of the
starting position
Once the position has been reached, re-tighten the
screws (S and S‘) or the knobs (K or K’) to lock the
footboard again.
7.5.2 ADJUSTMENT OF THE KNEE SUPPORTS
The knee supports can be adjusted in height, width, depth
and rotation.
