Churnet Valley 6ft Wide Log Store Assembly Instructions

When receiving this product, you will receive 6 different items. There will be 7
different items on the log stores that are 5ft wide and wider, they are as
follows:
Part 1 & 2 - Left Hand Side Part 3 Back Panel Part 4 floor Panel
/Right Hand Side Panel
Part 5 Roof Panel

1. Find a flat surface and lay down part 4 (floor panel)
Then take parts 1&2 (left side panel & right side panel)
and place these over the floor panel, so that the cladding is on the outside and the highest
part is at the back.
Do not screw these in yet.
2. Now take part 3 (back Panel) place this behind the floor,
not on top of the floor and in between the two side
panels.
3. You should now screw the back panel into the two side
panels where the yellow arrows indicate, using 4 screws.
4. Now screw the side panels into the floor. Place the screws
where the red arrows are, and go through the front of the
side panel into the floor, using 2 screws each side, 4 in
total.
5. The next move is to screw the floor panel into the back
panel, put one screw where both of the green arrows
indicate, through the floor into the back panel diagonally
downwards.

6. Now you should place the roof on top of the log store
And insert 4 screws where the 4 yellow arrows indicate,
going through the side of the roof into the side panels.

If your log store is 5ft wide or wider you will need to add this support
bar if your log store isn’t that wide you are good to go.
7. Support bar installation
Place the support bar in the centre of the log store
this should slide up into the roof as the photo below
indicates and should sit in front of the floor as the
photo to the right indicates. When these are in place,
place 4 screws in where the arrows indicate.

When first delivered your item may appear to look slightly green in colour. This is due to the
Tanalith-E treatment which the wood has been penetrated with. The green colour or pigment will
fade as the treatment fully settles. There may be residue of the treatment in a dry form around the
knots which can be easily wiped off with a cloth or stiff brush.
We made the decision to have our furniture pressure treated as it is the best possible way to ensure
that you are getting the most years out of your garden furniture. The pressure treatment process can
protect the timber against rot for as long as 25 years which means that we are manufacturing
responsibly and showing care for the environment. However, during the pressure treatment process
some of the natural glues and resins are removed from the timber and replaced with the Tanalith-E
treatment. This means that the timber is more prone to splits and cracks than some other timbers.
During hot or dry spells, the timber in certain places can open up and splits or cracks appear, this is
of no detriment whatsoever to the product in any way and is completely natural due to wood being a
natural product. When the weather is moist or humid then the timber will uptake the moisture from
the air and the splits or cracks will lessen or disappear .Your timber product does not need further
treatment to stop it from deteriorating, however, we do advise that it is coated on the surface areas
with a decking oil, garden furniture oil or furniture protector once a year to moisturise the timber
and protect against weathering.
PRODUCT INFORMATION– PLEASE READ
The timber itself over time becomes bleached by the sun and turns a silvery grey over time. If you
would like to lessen the effects of weathering then please feel free to add your own treatment to
protect against this.
If you decide to locate your product in an open exposed area where there is direct sunlight for long
periods of time or where there is more exposure to wind and rain, then it may be more prone to
effects of the weather and the colour change would happen faster.
If situated under trees or in areas that are not exposed to the sunlight then please be aware that the
growth of moss, mildew and other organisms is not uncommon. This however, would be the case
with any timber product exposed to these conditions. In these instances it is recommended to clean
off your product every few months using either a jet wash, stiff brush or fine sandpaper.
Please always remember that wood is a natural raw material and is the traditional option for garden
furniture adding natural character to your garden. Although it may have tendencies to react in
different ways according to the environment our wooden furniture is sustainable and will become a
lasting feature in your garden for years to come.
