CleverPet Hub User manual

Wait for it…
Get the most out of your CleverPet Hub
by following these simple steps.
Separate your dog from the Hub while you set up.
Setting up on a table is ideal.
Prepare your dog to meet the Hub. A dog who is
hungry is more likely to engage. If your dog just ate,
you may want to wait to introduce the Hub.
Lift out the inner liner and remove the wall plug by
bending back one of the cardboard tabs.
Do not plug in the Hub yet!

OPEN THE FOOD HATCH
Remove the orange silicone seal once and
then put it back. Make sure to seal it

WiFi Connection
If you don’t connect the Hub to WiFi, after
about 10 minutes it will go into Offline
Mode and will run with very limited
functionality.
Preventing slipping and sliding
Make sure the non-skid base is clean,
and that the floor beneath it is also clean
and dry. Position the Hub against a corner
or on a mat to avoid movement.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
•The CleverPet plugs into the wall using a
12-volt, 2-amp direct current (DC)
connection, which produces a lower
voltage than typical household plugs. If
you perceive any risk of your pet chewing
on any powered electric cable, including
the cable that powers CleverPet, make any
such cables inaccessible to your pet. Tuck
the cord secablesoutofreach, behind furniture, under rugs or
within cord covers.
•Closely supervise your pet’s initial use of
the CleverPet Hub to ensure safety.
•Discontinue use if the Hub shows any sign
of being cracked or broken.
Food, at its widest,
has to fit inside this circle
ADD FOOD
Open the food hatch and orange
silicone seal and add food.
(Maybe mix in a few treats for
added fun!)
Replace seal, making sure it is
firmly in place and seated evenly.
Before you add food: Make sure the power cord is
inserted into the underside of the hub. Always plug in the
Hub while the food pod is still empty to keep the system
from powering on while the Hub is upside down.
Yes: Dry kibble in a wide range of sizes. (Maximum size is 17
millimeters.) Dry, firm treats of similar sizes work well, too.
No: Wet, damp, soft, or crumby food or treats.
Maybe: Some freeze-dried treats or foods work, but they
don’t distribute as well as kibble. They tend to crumble.
1OPEN THE APP
Download the
CleverPet app at
clvr.pt/app
3PLUG IN THE HUB
FOR WIFI SETUP
When instructed by the app,
you will plug in the Hub, and
the indicator light on the dome
will begin to blink blue.
The app will guide you
through connecting your Hub
to WiFi. Once your WiFi is set
up, the app will help you pick
a good location for your dog
and the Hub to meet for the
first time.

WHICH FOOD SHOULD YOU USE?
•Never immerse the Hub in water.
•While the Hub has a non-slip base to hold it in
place, the Hub is not immovable. Placing the
Hub against a corner can help prevent
movement. Avoid placing the Hub above stairs,
or any other location that allows the Hub to be
pushed or fall from a height.
•You are responsible for your pet’s safety while
your pet is using the Hub.
•CleverPet is not responsible for ensuring your
pet is fed. Make sure your pet is, or pets are,
adequately fed each day by opening the food
hatch and silicone seal and inspecting the food
pod’s interior.
PREPARE THE HUB FOR YOUR PUP
clever.pet | support@clever.pet
If the food tray is moving in and out
repeatedly
Remove the dome, food pod, and the
food tray to check for loose kibble. When
replacing the food tray, make sure it is
seated well on the base.
How to open the food pod for cleaning
Empty all food from the pod. Pop the
pod into two parts: Clasp both ends in
your hands, point the square indentation
away from you, and pull at both ends,
using your chest for leverage.
Cleaning Parts
The food pod and the tray with stainless
steel food dish can be removed for easy
cleaning with soap and water, or using
the top rack of the dishwasher.
Wipe down other parts of the Hub as
needed with a damp cloth and dry
thoroughly.
Do not submerge in water.
All dogs are different
Each dog learns at a different pace, just like a child does. Your dog may warm to the Hub
right away, or ignore it, which is perfectly normal.
Follow the app’s instructions and tips for introducing your pup to the Hub, and remember
to be patient, calm, and encouraging.
Monitor your dog’s food intake
Open the food hatch and silicone seal each day to make sure your dog is eating the
appropriate amount. It may take days, or even a few weeks, for a dog to eat a whole
meal from the Hub.
Until you’re confident that your pup is earning all food from the Hub, you can
supplement Hub feeding with free feeding and gradually increase the amount your dog
earns from the Hub.
