identified then its name does not appear in the
Activity Screen tree. The sensor has to be
manually selected from the VinciLab Sensor
Library. To select a sensor from the Sensor Library
go to Sensors Screen, touch and select Sensor
Settings, touch a sensor input tab to which the
sensor is connected, touch None and select a
sensor from the list.

- The Activity/Result opens.
Coach 6 automatically detects and identifies the
connected sensor(s). If the identified sensor is
different from the sensor defined in the Activity/
Result then the sensor listed under the Activity
Screen tree is displayed in red. The sensor digital
display shows information about the sensor
defined in the Activity (red) and the sensor
identified by VinciLab. Connect the defined
sensor or change it into the detected sensor by
touching Exchange. This feature is not available
for sensors, which cannot be identified.
•Touch to check the live readings of the

Using VinciLab with computer
VinciLab can be used with a Windows computer for transferring files between the computer and
‘My Files’ folder on VinciLab (only via USB) and for working as a lab interface and controlled by
the Coach 6 program running on the PC (via USB or Wi-Fi).
1. INSTALLING THE USB VINCILAB DRIVER
(ADMINISTRATION RIGHTS NEEDED)
Before you start to use VinciLab with the
computer via the USB cable we strongly
recommend to first install the program Coach 6
Lite or Coach 6 (version 6.5 or newer) on your PC.
In most cases the driver installation is
automatically executed the first time VinciLab is
connected to the USB port of the computer. After
successful installation VinciLab is shown under
Network adapters (in Windows Device Manager).
If the driver is not automatically or not
successfully installed consult the VinciLab
User’s Manual.
2. TRANSFERRING FILES BETWEEN
VINCILAB AND A COMPUTER
To get access to the VinciLab’s user folder
‘My Files’ in Windows Explorer VinciLab needs to
be first mounted as a network location. Use the
CMA Mount VinciLab program, available under
CMA Utilities, to mount VinciLab. After mounting
VinciLab the ‘My files’ folder is available in
Windows Explorer under Network locations.
Files can be copied or moved between the
‘My Files’ folder on VinciLab and the computer.
The ‘My files’ folder consists of pre-defined
folders:
•the‘Coach’folder,whichcanbeusedfor
storing user’s Coach Activities and Results files.
•the‘Media’folder(withsubfoldersAudio,
Images, Video), which can be used for storing
audio, images and video files.
3. USING VINCILAB FOR DATA COLLECTION
WITH THE COACH 6 PC PROGRAM
The PC version of Coach 6 Lite and Coach 6
(version 6.5 or newer) supports measurements
with VinciLab. During such measurement
VinciLab stays connected to the PC via a USB port
or communicates via a Wi-Fi connection and
is controlled by Coach running on the PC.
The collected data are transferred in real-time
to the computer and the course of the
measurement can be followed directly in
the PC program.
When the Coach PC software controls VinciLab,
then the VinciLab screen is inactive and displays
the image.
4. DISPLAYING VINCILAB’S SCREEN
ON A COMPUTER OR A MOBILE DEVICE
To monitor the VinciLab screen and to control
VinciLab from any computer or a mobile device
(such as an iPad, an Android tablet, or a smart
phone) VinciLab offers Data Share via Virtual
Network Computing (VNC). The VNC protocol can
run via a network or a USB connection. To allow
this a VNC Viewer program needs to be installed
on the controlling device and remote connection
has to be established between the two devices.
Such VNC Viewers are freely available for all
platforms.
