Pleaseread thisbriefguidecarefullybeforeyoutrytouseyourmonitor.This
manualshowsyouhowtoconnectthemonitoranduseitinvariousoperating
modes.Italsoexplainsthepicturecontrolsandgivesinstructionsforthein-
stallation,useandserviceofthe1902A.
TheCommodore1902Aisa full-colordualmonitor,meaningitcandisplay
computeroutputineither40-or80-columnscreenwidths.Somecomputers,like
theCommodore64,displayscreenoutputina 40-columnformat.Others,like
theCommodorePC,requirean80-columnscreen.TheCommodore128can
displayonbothscreenwidths.Youcanselecttheoperatingmodeyouwantwith
theflickofa switch.Theswitchsettingdependsonthecomputeryouhave
connectedtothe1902Amonitor.
The1902Acanbeusedinthreeoperatingmodes:two40-columnandone
80-column.Thetwo40-columnmodesareCompositeVideo(CVBS)andSeparated
(LCA)Video.Theone80-columnmodeisdigitalRGBI.Thefollowingchartshows
recommendedmonitoroperatingmodesbycomputer.Dependingonyourcom-
puter,you'llfindthatcertainoperatingmodesgivebetterdisplayswhileother
modesmaynotevenproducea picture.
