10-BIT DIGITAL VIDEO WITH
BOSCH BI-PHASE AND BILINX™ CAMERA CONTROL
The ComNet FVT109B(M,S)1ID/Bosch is the “camera” end of a video and
bi-directional data link for the Bosch AutoDome cameras.
The FVT109B(M,S)1ID/Bosch mounts directly inside the AutoDome and supports Bosch
“Up-the-Coax” (Bilinx) controls signals for both NTSC and PAL video formats. For the US
video format (NTSC) and the European video format (PAL) the distance is 48 km.
The transmitter/receiver pair provides broadcast quality video transmission along
with camera control signals.
The FVR109B/Bosch can be mounted as a stand-alone module, fit in the ComNet rack
(ComFit packaging) or be mounted on a DIN Rail using the ComNet DINBKT1 adapter.
Bi-color (Red/Green) LED indicators are provided for rapidly ascertaining equipment
operating status. Figure 5 on Page 4 describes the LED indicators for each light on
the unit.
See Figures 1 – 5 for complete installation instructions.

plastic backing) with ComNet’s 2-pin to BNC cable.
Video LED D1 should illuminate green.
3. Connect fiber to module:
Attach single-mode fiber to U11 (single SC fiber optic con-
nector). Link LED should illuminate green once receiver is
powered on and link is established over the fiber.
4. Attach module to Bosch’s metal camera insert with white
plastic stand-offs.
Stand-offs snap into the three gold mounting holes in the module.
Secure the insert and attached module in camera with screws.
NOTE: Data LED D2 will flash green when Bosch Bi-phase data is received.
EXTERNAL VIDEO RECEIVER MODULE (FVR109B(M,S)1/Bosch):
1. Connect power to module:
Use +9 VDC adapter included with module, or insert into ComNet rack.
POWER LED should illuminate green.
LINK LED should illuminate red.

2. Connect video output to monitor:
Attach to BNC connector labeled VIDEO OUT
3. Connect fiber to module:
Attach single-mode fiber to SC fiber optic connector labeled OPTICAL.
4. If Bi-phase data is used to control the camera then connect data to screw terminal block on module:
Bi-phase CODE+ should be connected to DIN+.
Bi-phase CODE- should be connected to DIN-.
Shield should be connected to GND.
NOTE: LINK LED will illuminate green once a link is established over optical fiber with the In-Dome Transmitter module.
VIDEO LED will illuminate green when active signal is detected at the BNC.
DATA LED will flash green when Bi-phase commands are detected at the data connector.

Installation Considerations
This fiber-optic link is supplied as a Standalone/Rack module. Units should be
installed in dry locations protected from extremes of temperature and humidity.
C1-US, C1-EU, C1-AU or C1-CH Card Cage Racks
CAUTION: Although the units are hot-swappable and may be installed without
turning power off to the rack, ComNet recommends that the power supply be
turned off and that the rack power supply is disconnected from any power source.
Note: Remove electrical connector before installing in card cage rack.
1. Make sure that the card is oriented right side up, and slide it into the card
guides in the rack until the edge connector at the back of the card seats in the
corresponding slot in the rack’s connector panel. Seating may require thumb
pressure on the top and bottom of the card’s front panel.
CAUTION: Take care not to press on any of the LEDs.
2. Tighten the two thumb screws on the card until the front panel of the card is
seated against the front of the rack.
WARNING: Unit is to be used with a Listed Class 2 or LPS power supply rated
8-15 VDC @ 350 mA.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS:
A) Elevated Operating Ambient – If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack
assembly, the operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may
be greater than room ambient. Therefore, consideration should be given to
installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the maximum
ambient temperature (Tma) specified by the manufacturer.
B) Reduced Air Flow – Installation of the equipment in a rack should be such
that the amount of air flow required for safe operation of the equipment is not
compromised.
