You have made an important investment in securing your home and family. To ensure that you get the best possible
protecon it is important that your new security system is installed and operang correctly.
Please take the me to read this user manual carefully. The Conan security system has many adjustable-features
and each of the dierent sensors and accessories operate in dierent ways. Understanding these features and the
operaon of sensors and accessories will empower you to have the system installed in a way that maximises the
protecon it provides.

This secon will guide you through the essenal setup of the system, including inial installaon,
the pairing of sensors/accessories, seng PIN codes and arming/disarming the system.
This secon contains instrucons for each of the dierent sensors and accessories compable
with the Conan security console. Informaon in this secon is referenced by all other secons.
This secon details more advanced technical informaon regarding the security console as well as
the compable sensors & accessories. Aer compleng the above secons is is recommended to
read through this secon in order to familiarise yourself with the other features available.

Safety warnings
• To prevent short-circuits, this product should only be used indoors and only in dry spaces. Do not expose
the components to water or humidity.
• Do not expose the system strong mechanical wear and tear, high temperatures, strong vibraons or high
humidity.
• Use only the supplied power adaptor(s). Contact your supplier for replacement if necessary.
• Conrming that the rangs listed on the power adaptor matches your mains voltage before installing.
• Never connect a power adapter or power cord if it is damaged.
• This product should only be repaired or serviced by a qualied repairman. Defecve pieces must be
replaced by original parts. Contact your supplier if necessary.
• CAUTION: Keep baeries out of the reach of children. Do not dispose of baeries in re (risk of explosion)
Dispose of baeries as chemical waste. Never mix old and new baeries or dierent types. Remove
the baeries when you are not using the system for a long period of me. Respect the correct polarity
when inserng baeries. Make sure that the baeries are not short-circuited. Contact your supplier for
replacement baeries.
Warranty
The Conan security system and accessories are covered by a 3-year warranty. Warranty and guarantees are void in
the case of improper installaon or usage, or if it is altered and/or repaired by an unauthorised service centre.
The supplier does not accept responsibility in the case of improper usage of the product or when the product is used
for purposes other than specied. The supplier does not accept responsibility for addional damage other than that
covered by legal product responsibility.

A1.3 - Telephone communications installation
The security console has the ability to connect to a land-line and/or GSM (mobile) telecommunicaon service allowing
it to send voice and SMS nocaons.
A1.3.1 - Connecting to a GSM mobile telephone network
The console accepts a standard size SIM card (not included) for wireless telephone communicaon. Please make
sure that the SIM card:
• Does not have a PIN access code set up
• Has been acvated with a mobile service provider
• Has sucient credit to telephone/SMS out
Call your SIM card service provider for technical support if necessary.
To install the SIM card for the GSM mobile telephone service:
1. Make sure the power is not connected and the backup baery 1 switched o.
2. Remove the casing screw plugs on the front of the security console 12 .
3. Remove the casing screws 12 using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
4. Gently detach the two halves of the security console casing.
Note: Do not detach the casing too quickly as there are internal wires
connecng each half.
5. Locate the SIM card tray as shown in the image 1.
6. Gently push the SIM card tray to the le and raise it ready to receive the
SIM Card.
7. Place the SIM card into the SIM card tray, making sure to align the angled
corner of the SIM card with the angled corner of the SIM card tray.
8. Lower the SIM card tray and lock by gently pushing it to the right unl it
clicks into place.
9. Carefully secure the two halves of the security console casing back
together.
10. Replace and ghten the casing screws 12 .
11. Replace the casing screw plugs 12 .
To setup the aerial for the GSM mobile telephone service:
1. Connect the GSM aerial included to the socket labelled GSM-Jack atop the security console.
2. On the security console keypad press 4 #.
3. The display will show the GSM signal strength: 1-9 Low, 10-19 Medium, 20-31 High.
4. Posion the GSM aerial to maximise signal strength.
5. Press the cancel (CE) buon on the console to exit the GSM signal strength screen.

A1.3.2 - Connecting to a land-line telephone service
The security console can be connected to your xed home/oce telephone land-line service.
To do this:
1. Connect one end of the supplied telephone cable to the land-line telephone jack 3.
2. Connect the other end of the telephone cable to your acve home/oce telephone socket.
A1.4 - Connecting the power
A power adaptor (15V 1.5A) is supplied for use with the security console. To connect the power adaptor:
1. Plug the power adaptor into a mains power socket.
2. Plug the other end of the power adaptor into the power adaptor socket 5on the console.
3. Turn the mains power socket on.
A1.5 - Turning the backup battery on/off
The security console features a backup baery that maintains power if the mains power fails. The console is shipped
with the backup baery turned o. To switch the backup baery on/o:
1. Ensure the security console is powered on before turning the backup baery on for the rst me.
2. Using a small at-head screwdriver, move the backup baery switch 1 to the desired seng (on or o).

A1.7 - Entering setup mode
Most sengs and setup of the security system takes place within the setup mode of the security console. Setup
mode is protected by the SETUP-PIN in order to prevent unauthorised access.
To enter setup mode:
1. Ensure the security console is disarmed (see “A4 - Arming/disarming the system”, p. 13).
2. Enter the 4-digit SETUP-PIN (default: 0000)
3. Press the set buon
A1.8 - Setting the time
To set the me on the security console:
1. Enter setup mode on the security console (see “A1.7 - Entering setup mode”, p. 6).
2. Press the keypad up or down arrow buons unl TIME CLOCK is displayed, then press # (enter).
3. Key in the current me in 24-hour format.
Example: 0630 for 6:30am/1830 for 6:30pm.
4. Press the # (enter) buon to save.
A1.9 - Setting the date
To set the date on the security console:
1. Enter setup mode on the security console (see “A1.7 - Entering setup mode”, p. 6).
2. Press the keypad up or down arrow buons unl DATE is displayed, then press # (enter).
3. Key in the current date in MMDDYYYY format.
Example: 12172016 represents the December 17, 2016.
4. Press the # (enter) buon to save.
A1.10 - Setting the language
The security console can display 3 languages, English (default), Swedish and Dutch.
To change the language displayed on the security console:
1. Enter setup mode on the security console (see “A1.7 - Entering setup mode”, p. 6).
2. Press the up/down arrow buons unl LANGUAGE is displayed, then press # (enter).
3. Using the keypad, enter either 0 (English), 1 (Swedish) or 2 (Dutch).
4. Press the # (enter) buon.

A1.11 - Turning voice feedback on/off
The security console includes prerecorded voice feedback, such as what you hear when entering setup mode.
To turn voice feedback on/o:
1. Enter setup mode on the security console (see “A1.7 - Entering setup mode”, p. 6).
2. Press the keypad up or down arrow buons unl VOICE SOUND is displayed, then press # (enter).
3. Press buon (0) to turn o, or (1) to turn on.
4. Press the # (enter) buon.
A1.12 - Turn keypad sounds on/off
By default the security console emits a tone when a key is pressed, acknowledging the input. To turn the keypad
tones on or o:
1. Enter setup mode on the security console (see “A1.7 - Entering setup mode”, p. 6).
2. Press the up/down arrow buons unl KEY TONE is displayed, then press # (enter).
3. Press the (0) buon for o, or (1) for on.
4. Press the # (enter) buon.
A1.13 - Set the siren duration
The amount of me the security console’s siren will sound for when the alarm triggers can be adjusted. To set the
siren alarm duraon:
1. Enter setup mode on the security console (see “A1.7 - Entering setup mode”, p. 6).
2. Press the up/down arrow buons unl ALARM TIME is displayed, then press # (enter).
3. Key in a delay-duraon on the keypad, between 1-499s.
4. Press the # (enter) buon.
A1.14 - Turn the siren on/off
The security console’s in-built siren will sound by default if the alarm is triggered. The seng can be changed so that
the security console siren does not sound. Note that this does not aect other sirens you may install, which have
their own sengs. To turn the console siren on/o:
1. Enter setup mode on the security console (see “A1.7 - Entering setup mode”, p. 6).
2. Press the up/down arrow buons unl ALARM MODE is displayed, then press # (enter).
3. Press the (0) buon for o, or (1) for on
4. Press the # (enter) buon.

A1.15 - Setting entry/exit delay duration
You can adjust the amount of me the security console allows for entering and exing when arming or disarming the
security system. Note that this delay duraon aects sensors that you have acvated with the delay aribute see
“C3 - Aributes”, p. 48.
To set the entry/exit delay me:
1. Enter setup mode on the security console (see “A1.7 - Entering setup mode”, p. 6).
2. Press the up/down arrow buons unl DELAY TIME is displayed, then press # (enter).
3. Key in a delay-duraon between 1-199s.
4. Press the # (enter) buon.
A1.16 - Reviewing system events
The security console can store up to 250 system events, including alarm events, arming/disarming, accessory baery
warnings etc. Events can be reviewed on the LCD screen. Each event includes a date and me stamp, as well as other
informaon relevant to the parcular event type.

To review system events:
1. Press 6 # on the keypad to enter the system-events menu.
2. Press the le arrow (2 key) & right arrow (3 key) to scroll through system events.
3. To exit the system-event screen press either:
• The CE (cancel) buon to exit the system event menu, or
• The # (enter) to clear the system-event memory and then exit the system event menu.
A1.17 - Turning partition-2 LCD display on/off
Important: The system includes an advanced feature called parons. By default the security console LCD
screen will display paron-2, however the majority of users do not require parons and this extra informaon on
the LCD screen may be confusing at this early setup stage.
To disable paron-2 from being displayed on the LCD screen (recommended):
1. Make sure you are NOT in setup mode (press the CE cancel buon several mes to ensure).
2. Press buons 8 2 # on the keypad.

A1.18 - Wall mounting instructions
The security console can be mounted on a wall or otherwise simply
placed in a convenient locaon such as a bench top. Wall mounng is
strongly recommended, ideally out of sight and in a central locaon such
as a wardrobe, closet or under stairs. A screw-hole mounng template is
included to assist in mounng the console.
Please consider the power requirements of the security console when
choosing a mounng locaon:
1. Aer selecng a suitable locaon temporarily ax the screw-
hole mounng template to the locaon.
2. Ax the 4 x supplied plasterboard plugs and screws to the wall.
Ensure that the screw-heads protrude a small amount from the
wall so that the security console mounng keyholes 1can sit
over the top.
3. Place the security console mounng keyholes 1over the
screws and gently pull down unl securely in place. You may
need ghten or loosen the screws to ensure a secure t.

A2.1 - Programming dial-out telephone numbers
The security console can store up to 9 telephone numbers for emergency dialing and SMS nocaons.
Note: This part of the setup is oponal and only required if you wish to ulise this feature. Seng up the telephone
communicaon relies upon the security console being connected to a land-line telephone service and/or loaded with
an acve GSM SIM card. For more informaon see “A1.3 - Telephone communicaons installaon”, p. 4.
A2.1.1 - To set a Voice call-out telephone number:
1. Enter setup mode on the security console (see “A1.7 - Entering setup mode”, p. 6).
2. Press the keypad up or down arrow buons unl PHONE NO is displayed, then press the # (enter)
buon.
3. Press the number (3) buon.
4. Enter the desired telephone number (14-digits maximum).
5. Press the # (enter) buon to conrm.
A2.1.2 - To set an SMS call-out telephone number:
Note: Only perform these setup steps if you have an acve GSM SIM card installed. If you are following on from
the above setup instrucons, start at step 3 below.
1. Enter setup mode on the security console (see “A1.7 - Entering setup mode”, p. 6).
2. Press the keypad up or down arrow buons unl PHONE NO is displayed, then press the # (enter)
buon.
3. Press the number (7) buon.
4. Enter the desired mobile number (14-digits maximum).
5. Press the # (enter) buon to conrm.
A2.2 - Controlling the system via touch-tone telephone/SMS
Once you setup either a voice and/or SMS call-out telephone number, the security
console can be controlled and monitored by any touch tone telephone or via SMS. Controlling the security system in
this way is covered in the advanced secon, see “C6.2 - Call-in setup”, p. 56
A2.3 - Recording dial-out voice messages
If you have setup the security console to make an outgoing call when an alarm is triggered, then it is important to
record your own custom message. This message will be played over the telephone in the event of an emergency.
Please keep the following informaon in mind when recording your messages:
• The inbuilt microphone is located on the front of the security console, labelled V-MIC.
• Do not speak too closely to the microphone as this may distort the
recording.
