II. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: When using electric Trimmers, basic safety precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk of personal injury.
Read all instructions carefully prior to operating this trimmer.
1. Stay Alert - Watch what you are doing. Use common sense when
operating Trimmer.
2. Avoid Dangerous Environments
Do not operate Trimmer:
• In rain or in damp or wet locations.
• While under the influence of alcohol, medications, or drugs.
• Where highly-flammable liquids or gases are present.
• While standing on a ladder or in a tree.
• If it is damaged or not securely and fully assembled.
3. Keep Children Away - Keep all visitors a safe distance from
work area.
4. Do not use Trimmer for any job except that for which it is intended.
5. Only well instructed adults should operate Trimmer. Never allow children
to operate Trimmer.
6. Dress Properly When Operating Trimmer
• Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery that can get caught in the
moving blades or parts of the Trimmer.
• Always wear protective gloves and substantial foot wear when
working outside.
• Always wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
• Always wear a face or dust mask if operation is dusty.
7. Always wear eye & ear protection.
8. Use only electrical voltage noted on model nameplate on Trimmer.
9. Extension Cord - Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.
When using an extension cord (<6amp), be sure to use one heavy
enough to carry the current your Trimmer will draw. An undersized
extension cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of
power, overheating and damage to the motor. (min. 2.5mm cord
recommended).
10. Do not operate Trimmer near electric power lines, telephone, or
cable lines. Keep Trimmer at least 10 feet away from any power lines
or cables.
11. Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surface only, because the saw
chain may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Saw chains contacting
a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool ”live”
and could give the operator an electric shock.
12. Always use a RCD plug.
While operating Trimmer
1. Stay Alert - Watch what you are doing. Use common sense.
2. Be aware of extension cord while operating Trimmer. Be careful not to trip
over extension cord. Keep extension cord away from cutter blades at
all times.
3. Avoid Unintentional Starting - Do not carry plugged-in Trimmer with
finger on switch. Be sure switch is OFF when plugging in Trimmer.
4. Do Not Over-reach - Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
DANGER - RISK OF INJURY
Keep hands away from blades at all times. Keep both hands on handle
areas when Trimmer is on. Do not attempt to remove cut material or
hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Do not grasp the
exposed cutting blades or cutting edges when picking up or holding
the Trimmer.
CAUTION - Blades coast to a stop after switching off.
5. Disconnect Trimmer - Disconnect the Trimmer from the power supply:
• When not in use
• Before servicing
• When changing accessories such as blades
• When clearing jammed material from blades
• When moving from one worksite to another
Do Not Force Trimmer - It will do the job better and with less likelihood of
a risk of injury.
6. Do Not Abuse Power Cable - Never carry Trimmer by power cable or yank
it to disconnect from the mains power supply . Keep power cable away from
heat, oil, and sharp edges.
7. Before starting Trimmer, make sure blades are not touching anything.

Adjust the shaft to desired position and then re-lock. See.Pic.1&2)
Pivoting the power head
The Trimmer is equipped with a power head that pivots. The power head is
able to pivot 90 Degrees. The power head has a pivoting knob which allows
the head to rotate and lock into your desired position. To pivot the power
head, follow the instructions below :
1. Push in the spring-loaded pivoting knob for cutting head.
(See page 2. Parts List - part 3).
2. Turn the knob to the desired cutting position and release. The position
is locked when the knob springs back out and makes a click noise.
The trimmer’s working range is 90 degrees.

HOW TO OPERATE:
1. There is a large red trigger and a red safety button both located on the grey
handle (Parts list on Page 2 Parts 8 & 10). Both must be depressed for the
hedge trimmer to operate.
2. The large red trigger switch needs to be squeezed at the BOTTOM for the
trigger to work”.
Starting the Trimmer
Please note - when switching the trimmer on and off you may see electric sparks
inside the trimmer head where the motor is located. This is perfectly normal and in
no way represents a safety hazard. Unlike some trimmers that incorporate a
mechanical brake, this trimmer uses an extremely sensitive Electronic Brake which
naturally produces some sparks. It is a safety feature of this trimmer.
