SYMBOLS
WARNING: Observe important safeguards to avoid serious injury.
Do NOT insert hand or fingers into feed opening.
Keep shredder away from children and pets at all time.
Keep loose jewellery, ties, long hair, etc. away from opening.
D NOT use flammable, petrol based, or aerosol cleaners on the
shredder, which may cause combustion. Only use recommended
lubricant in a non-aerosol container.
Maximum of up to 6 sheets of paper to be shredded
at any one time.
Do NOT put paperclips through the shredder. Please ensure all
paperclips are removed from any paper before shredding.
Indicates that credit/debit cards can be shredded.

BEFORE USE
• Remove all packaging from the shredder.
• Place the shredder securely on top of a waste receptacle.
• Plug the power cable into an earthed mains socket.
• Switch on at the mains. Check the power ED is illuminated.
OPERATION
• The shredder is fitted with an automatic start/stop feature which allows the
unit to stop as soon as the material has passed through the shredder. It also
allows it to start as soon as the material is inserted into the opening.
• The shredder is also fitted with a detector to prevent more than 6 sheets being
inserted at any one time in order to reduce paper jams. If this detector
activates and prevents the shredder from working, reduce the number of
sheets and then replace in the opening.
• The reverse mode reverses the shredding process to clear a blockage from the
shredder.
• The shredder is fitted with a motor overload cut-out to prevent the motor from
overheating. This will activate if there is a major paper jam, if the unit has
been shredding continuously for over 1 minute or if the shredding capacity has
been exceeded.
• Remove all paper clips and staples prior to shredding.
• D NOT shred labels or paper with labels stuck on. Gum on labels can clog
the blades.
• D NOT shred anything other than credit cards, debit cards or other similar
cards.
• D NOT attempt to shred cards with heat-sealed plastic covers.
• If paper is significantly narrower than the opening shred through the centre of
the opening.
• After 1 minute continuous shredding, allow the shredder to cool for 30
minutes. Failure to allow sufficient cooling time may cause the shredder to
overheat.
• If the shredder starts to overheat, switch off immediately and unplug from the
mains and allow to cool for 30 minutes.
• If the shredder becomes blocked, always switch off and allow to cool for 30
minutes before plugging in and starting in reverse mode to clear the blockage.

WARNING
• Keep shredder out of the reach of children and pets.
• Keep all loose articles of clothing, ties, jewellery, hair and other small items
away from the opening to prevent injury.
• D NOT place hands or fingers into shredder opening to avoid serious injury.
• Continuous shredding of form fed computer paper should not exceed 1 minute.
• Always unplug shredder prior to moving, cleaning or during a break in use, e.g.
emptying of the waste receptacle.
• D NOT place flammable gas, liquids, chemicals & aerosol (ex: nail polish,
acetone, gasoline) near or in this machine.
• D NOT use this machine to shred paper clips.
• Turn off shredder prior to placing hands into shredder waste receptacle.
• D NOT attempt to repair shredder yourself.
• Make sure to periodically empty the waste receptacle.
• D NOT pull on the power cable to unplug the shredder, always grasp the
plug.
• Check for damage before use. D NOT use if damaged in any way.
• Keep the power cable well clear of the blades when in use, away from sources
of heat and other sharp objects.
• The unit is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or
separate remote- control system.
• This unit should not be used, cleaned or maintained by children and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance.
