Installation-Operation-Maintenance Manual
Introduction
Coreline Fig.523 manual override gearbox is typically mounted between a pneumatic actuator and a quarter turn control
valve to provide for manual valve operation in the event of air failure or for emergency operation. Under normal automatic
operation, the gear is disengaged and the actuator turns freely to operate the valve. The gearboxes are suitable for indoor
and outdoor use and combine rugged construction, light weight and modular design to provide the most efficient and cost
effective solution to a full range of manual override requirements. The top and bottom drilling conforms to ISO 5211
interface standards.
Specification
● Simple and compact design, light in weight.
● Will lock-and-hold the valve in any position.
● ISO 5211 connecting standard.
● IP65 weatherproof.
● Internal parts are pre-lubricated before delivery.
Instructions for installation and operation
● Connect the bottom side of the manual override gearbox to the valve and the bracket face to the pneumatic actuator.
Then slide the valve shaft into the inner hole on the actuator until the valve shaft end is well matched with the square
hole of the actuator.
● A tooth collision may occur when rotating the lever (by 180° outwards) to engage the worm. In such case, you need to
turn the hand-wheel to a certain angle so that they can become engaged with each other.
● Actuating the device through pneumatic and manual simultaneously is not allowed.
Maintenance and storage
● Coreline Fig.523 manual override gearbox requires little maintenance. To ensure that the gearbox is always ready to
operate, we recommend for the following measures. Three (3) months after commissioning and each year:
- Check the bolts on top of the gearbox;
- Check the bolts on the valve flange;
- Perform a test run every six months;
- Check the gearbox for leakage of grease;
- For gearboxes with permanently vibration and exposure above 60ºC, checks should be performed at shorter intervals.
● Store the gearboxes that are not installed indoors in a safe way to avoid accidents.
● Avoid storage in areas with high temperature, high humidity and/or dust.
● Protect against floor dampness by storage on a shelf or on a wooden pallet.
● Apply suitable corrosion protection agent to bare surfaces.
