FLASHBUTTON
This telephone provides a break signal for a PABX service of Call Waiting from your
localtelephone company.The Flashtimeis programmablefrom 100msto1000ms, in
50msincrements.Youcan change theflashtime in the setupprocedure.Thedefault
Flashtimeis600ms.IfyouhaveCallWaitingservice,youcanalternatetheCallWaiting
functionperthe followinginstructions.
1. While having a conversation, another party calls and you hear a tone.
2. Press the FLASH button once and release. The first conversation is placed
on hold and the second call can be answered.
3. Press FLASH button again and release. The first caller can be spoken to
again and thesecondcall isplacedon hold.

CALLWAITINGDISPLAY
In the past, if you had call-waiting service, a tone alerted you there was a new call
comingwhileyouwereonanexistingcall. Now ourCallWaitingCallerIDnotonlytells
youthere isanother callwaiting, butlets youknow whothe calleris beforeyou answer
it.Thecallwaitinginformationisshownontheunit’sdisplay. TheCALLWAITING(CW)
symbol will flash for 16 seconds along with the telephone number and name of the
personwhois on call waiting.Pressthe FLASH buttontoput the existing callonhold
and answer the new call.
Nomatterwhetheryou answer the call or not,theCallWaiting CallerIDwillstore the
call information for future reference.
Note: Make sure you have subscribed to both Call Waiting Caller ID and Caller ID
service from your local telephone company. If you only have Caller ID service, the
unit works for Caller ID only.
MUTEBUTTON
PressMUTE tospeakwithoutthepersononthephonehearingyourconversation. The
MUTE Indicatorwilllightupandremainlighted untilyouresumeyourconversation. To
resumeyour conversation,pressMUTE. TheMUTE indicator willgoout andyour call
cancontinue.
RINGER VOLUME
Use the Ringer Volume controls located on the right side of the phone base to
change ringer volume for Line 1 and Line 2. The 3-position switches are used to set
ringervolumetoOff,LoworHi.RemembertosettheRingerswitchestoHiorLowwhen
you want to receive calls. 12
