There are four buttons on the 08 Room unit; these can be altered to your needs but
in a standard set-up they represent:

Reassurance Light: In the top right hand corner of the unit there is a light that will
flash depending on the function that the unit is performing. For example, if a call is
being made the light will flash on and off for the duration of the call. There is also a
light on the pear push lead which has the same function.
IR Receiver: In the top left hand corner there is a small infrared receiver. On an 08
Room unit this enables a call to be triggered by an external device, for example, one
of our wrist and neck pendants. This allows the staff to locate where a particular call
is coming from and who made the call.
Jack Sockets: On the bottom of the units there are two jack sockets which allow the
use of both our pear push lead and/or another Courtney Thorne approved external
trigger, for example, a pressure mat.

Designed for all areas where a care point is needed, the 08 Room Unit allows calls
from users and staff. Units can come complete with either a pull cord or an IP rated
pear push lead. They also include two sockets for pear push lead or auxiliary trigger-
ing devices. They have a raised rim around the main call button with Braille text for
the visually impaired.
The 08 room unit has a built-in infrared receiver which allows for remote staff identifi-
cation, real time location and staff attack alarm capability. The 08 Room Unit can
come in a variety of configurations, these can be tailor made to your requirements.
If you require something specialised to your requirements then please contact your
sales advisor and they will be more than happy to incorporate these where possible.

Call: Pressing the yellow call button at the top of the 08
Room Unit, pressing the button on the pear push lead or
pulling the cord on the Pullcord unit will make a standard
‘call’ to your Display Panel. This would typically be used by
the service user to indicate that they require assistance.
Our pear push leads are also typically set to make a
standard call.
Assistance: The assistance button in blue, when pressed,
makes an 'assistance' call to your Display Panel. The sound
intensity is higher than a standard call but not as high as an
'emergency' call. Typically this would be used if a member of
staff needed some assistance but it was not considered to be
an emergency situation for example, a member of staff needs
help lifting or using a hoist.
Emergency: The emergency button in red makes an
'emergency' call to your Display Panel. You will notice that
the sound intensity increases with this type of call. This
would be typically used when there is a high priority
situation and this type of call will always over-ride any other
calls because of the importance of the emergency situation.
Reset: This button is pressed to reset any type of call that has
been made from the activated 08 Room Unit.
Should the system have ‘presence’ mode enabled, the reset
button activates the ‘presence’ function. For presence mode
explanation please speak to your Sales Consultant.
