Covert Clock Radio Digital Video Recorder
Quick Start Guide
To Record Constant Video :
1) Plug the camera in to power, and turn the recorder on using the ‘VR On/Off’ button on the
top of the Cloc Radio.
2) Ensure that a SD memory card has been inserted into the bac of the Radio.
3) On the Infrared Remote Control, press the red ‘REC’ button. The camera should begin
recording immediately. Clips are recorded onto the SD memory card for playbac .
To Record Video on Motion Detection mode :
1) Plug the camera in to power, and turn the recorder on using the ‘VR On/Off’ button on the
top of the Cloc Radio.
2) Ensure that a SD memory card has been inserted into the bac of the Radio.
3) Plug the camera in to a TV, Monitor, or other device using the RCA video inputs on the
camera cable. Switch your TV/Monitor to the video input you’ve plugged it into. You should
now see the camera image on the screen.
4) Open the camera menu by pressing the menu button on the Infrared Remote. Go down to
the ‘schedule’ menu and press enter to open it up.
5) Using the up/down and left/right buttons, set every hour to the icon depicting a running
man. This sets the camera to record when it sees motion all day long.

To play back recorded video :
1) Plug the camera in to power, and turn the recorder on using the ‘VR On/Off’ button on the
top of the Cloc Radio.
2) Ensure that a SD memory card has been inserted into the bac of the Radio.

3) Plug the camera in to a TV, Monitor, or other device using the RCA video inputs on the
camera cable. Switch your TV/Monitor to the video input you’ve plugged it into. You should
now see the camera image on the screen.
4) Press the Play/Pause button on the remote control to begin playing bac the most recently
recorded clip.
5) When you are finished playing bac clips, press the stop button to return to the live video
image.
To delete all recorded video clips :
1) Plug the camera in to power, and turn the recorder on using the ‘VR On/Off’ button on the
top of the Cloc Radio.
2) Ensure that a SD memory card has been inserted into the bac of the Radio.
3) Plug the camera in to a TV, Monitor, or other device using the RCA video inputs on the
camera cable. Switch your TV/Monitor to the video input you’ve plugged it into. You should
now see the camera image on the screen.
4) Open the camera menu by pressing the menu button on the Infrared Remote. Go down to
the ‘SD Card’ menu and press Menu/OK to open it up. Select ‘Format’ and hit Menu/OK.
5) Press Menu/OK to format the SD card and delete all clips. WARNING : THI ACTION
CANNOT BE UNDONE. Once it has completed, all clips will be cleared.

Product Description
The EZ-CLOCKDVR is a covert hidden video recording system mounted within a fully functional
Cloc Radio. This revolutionary system allows for discreet monitoring anywhere, any time. Being shaped
as a cloc radio it never loo s out of place, no matter the application. The unit records to an SD Memory
card inserted into the bac of the recorder.
Recording control and configuration is done with the assistance of an infrared remote control;
by having fewer controls on the cloc radio itself, we help maintain the illusion that the unit is a
perfectly ordinary cloc .
Initial Connection
The first thing that must be done with your new covert Cloc Radio Camera is to connect it to a
TV. It does not need to stay connected, this is only needed for the first-time initial setup.
To begin, Ta e the Video cable and plug the yellow and white RCA plugs into a TV. The power
cable on the bac of the cloc will power both the cloc and the Video Recorder, it must be plugged in
for the internal battery to charge. Change your TV to the input you have the recorder connected to. For
specific instructions on this step, please consult your TV’s user guide or manual. If the video does not
display, press the VR On/Off button to turn the recorder on.
At this point, you should have an image on the screen showing you the video from the camera.
At the top of the screen you will see the camera date and time. At the bottom of the screen you will see
the current recording settings.

The circle on the left will have a rotating red section ONLY when the camera is currently
recording. To the right, you will see an icon displaying the type of recording the camera is set up to
perform. The following recording types will be displayed :
Manual Recording Motion-Detection Recording Continuous Scheduled Recording
To the right of the recording icon, you will see the image resolution (320/240 or 640/480), the
quality of recording (LQ = Low, MQ = Medium, HQ = High) and the spea er icon indicates if the camera is
recording audio or not. Lastly, on the far right you will see how much free space is present on the SD
memory card. As you record, this percentage will drop from 99 down to 0. When it is at 0, your card is
full.
Menu Configuration
Now that you have an image from the
camera, you can enter the camera menu and set it
to record. The camera is very easy to configure.
Press the ‘Menu/OK’ button on the remote to enter
the Main Menu.
The main menu has many options, we will go
through each option one by one to help you set the
system up. The first option, ‘Search and Play’, we will
visit later in this guide under the ‘Playbac ’ section.

ET DATE/TIME : This sub-menu allows you to set the
date and time of the camera. The date and time is
always visible on the live image as well as on the
playbac . You can adjust the date, time, and format
by using the left/right buttons on the remote. When
you have set the date and time, press the
‘Return/Stop’ button on the remote control to return
to the main menu.
MOTION DETECT : This feature allows you to configure the ability of the camera to record only when
motion is seen. The options here do not need to be adjusted if you set the camera to manually record,
or if you set the camera to continuously record.
Motion Area: This screen will let you select where the camera will loo for motion. Areas of the screen
that are in RED will search for motion. Areas of the screen that are in WHITE will ignore motion. You can
adjust the areas by cell, by bloc , or by all. Pressing the ‘Play/Pause’ button on the remote control will
change how to adjust areas :
Cell Edit : This option allows you to edit the screen one
square at a time. Move the cursor to a square, then press
Menu/O to swap between red and white.
Del Bloc : This option allows you to delete (Change to
white) an entire bloc at a time. Move the cursor to one
corner of the bloc and press Menu/OK. Now move the
cursor to another corner of the bloc . You will see the
bloc turn blue. Press Menu/OK to delete the entire blue
area and change it all to white.
Del All : This option allows you to delete (Change to white) the entire screen. Press Menu/OK to set the
entire screen white.
Add Bloc : This option allows you to add (Change to red) an entire bloc at a time. Move the cursor to
one corner of the bloc and press Menu/OK. Now move the cursor to another corner of the bloc . You
will see the bloc turn blue. Press Menu/OK to add the entire blue area and change it all to red.
Add All : This option allows you to add (Change to red) the entire screen. Press Menu/OK to set the
entire screen red.
Motion Sensitivity : this option allows you to set how
sensitive the camera is to motion. When you enter this
screen, any area the camera is loo ing for motion in is
blue. You can change this area in the previous section.
When the camera sees enough motion to trigger
recording, the blue will change to red. You can increase
or decrease the sensitivity using the Left/right buttons
on the remote. Press return to exit this menu.

MANUAL RECORD : This sub-menu allows you to specify the quality of recordings when you are
recording manually. To record manually, press the ‘Record’ button on the remote while loo ing at the
live camera image. You can change the following options :
Video Size : This is the resolution of the image. Higher resolution has
more detail but ma es your recordings larger. Bigger recordings use
more SD card space than smaller recordings, meaning you record less
time overall.
Frame Rate : This is how many images per second the camera records.
Higher FPS ma es the image much more smooth and fluid, but ma es
the recordings bigger.
Quality : This is how good the image quality is. Higher quality ma es
your recordings larger.
Audio : This tells the camera whether or not to record audio when recording manually.
CHEDULE RECORD : This sub-menu allows you to tell the camera to record during certain hours of the
day. You can have the camera record differently depending upon what time of day it is. You will have
four options present on this menu :
Schedule Setup : This option lets you adjust how the camera
records during certain times of day. Use the up/down arrows
to select which hour of the day to adjust. Use the left/right
arrows to adjust whether the camera records using Continuous
recording, Motion Recording, Alarm Recording*, All, or None.
When set to ‘All’, the camera will follow whatever settings are
chosen for Continuous recording until motion is seen, at which
time the Motion Recording settings are used instead. If your
settings for motion and continuous recordings are the same,
you will not see any change on the screen.
*Alarm Recording is a feature not present in this DVR, but is still available in the menu. The recording is represented by a bullhorn icon.
Selecting this will not record any images.
Alarm Record : The settings in this section will have no effect on recording. Alarm recording is not
available on this model DVR.
Motion Record : The settings in this section adjust the resolution, quality, and framerate of recordings
made when the camera is scheduled to record using motion detection. See the top of the page for more
detail on these settings.
Continue Record : The settings in this section adjust the resolution, quality, and framerate of recordings
made when the camera is scheduled to record continuously. See the top of the page for more detail on
these settings.

D CARD OPTION : The options here allow you to configure how the camera records, what to do when
the card is full, and allows you to clear the card of all recordings.
Max File Size: This allows you to set how big to ma e
each file. You do not normally need to change this
unless directed to by a technical support
representative.
Card Full : This option tells the camera what to do when
the card fills up to maximum capacity. ‘Stop’ tells the
camera to stop recording until the card is manually
cleared. ‘Loop’ will tell the camera to delete the oldest
clips to ma e room for new ones once the card is full.
Format : This is the option you must select to clear the SD
memory card of all recordings. Formatting cannot be undone, so
do not use this option if there are any images you wish to eep!
If you wish to format, press the ‘Menu/OK’ button. Otherwise,
press the Return/Stop button.
Y TEM TATU : This screen shows you the status of the system,
including what the ‘card full’ action to ta e is, and the recording
settings for all recording types (Manual, Alarm, Motion Detection,
Continuous). There are no settings on this screen to change.
Power-On etup : This menu allows you to change the menu language (English, French, Spanish,
German, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, and Japanese). You can also set the camera to display in NTSC or PAL
format. NTSC is the standard format for televisions in North/South America and Japan. PAL is the most
common format in Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia.
Factory Default : This will reset all camera settings (Schedules, quality settings, language, TV format, etc)
to factory default settings.

Playback
There are three ways to play bac video clips within the system. The first is to connect the
camera to a TV using the yellow/white RCA plugs, and to hit the ‘Play/Pause’ button on the remote. The
camera will immediately begin playing bac the most recently recorded clip. When a clip finishes, it will
move to the next most-recently recorded clip, one at a time. The left/right buttons will fast forward or
rewind the clip at various paces, the play/pause button will pause the video or play at normal speed.
When you are dine, press the ‘Stop/Return’ button on the remote.
The next way is to use the EARCH AND PLAY from the camera main menu.
At the top of the screen you will see the dates the camera has recorded, and how many files
were recorded on that date. Below that, you will see up to 9 icons; each icon represents one file, and the
type of icon (Finger, Man, Cloc ) represents the type of recording that was made (Manual, Motion-
Detection, and Continuous recording Respectively). The ‘Time’ field at the bottom shows you the time of
day the highlighted clip was recorded. To play bac a clip use the up/down buttons to highlight the date
you wish to play bac , then use the left/right buttons to select which clip to play bac . Press OK to play
that clip.
The last way is to put the SD Memory Card into a computer using a memory card reader. You
can then browse through the individual clips on the memory card, and play them by double-clic ing on
any of the files. The files are recorded in a format native to Microsoft Windows Media Player, and may
not play bac properly using any other media players

Troubleshooting
Problem Resolution
Unit is not Outputting any Video
•
Ensure the TV is on the correct Video Input
• Ensure the Camera is turned on and the
power LED light is showing green.
• Ensure the Power Supply is connected, If
the unit is running on battery power then
the battery may have been drained.
Unit Has no Power
•
Ensure the power supply is snugly
connected to the power connection on the
cable
• The Power Supply may have a damaged
fuse or connection. Contact technical
support or replace with 12V 500mA Unit.
Image is Distorted
•
Ensure the ‘TV Output’ is set correctly.
Most units in North America require NTSC.
• Ensure the outlet that the power supply is
connected to is properly grounded.
• Proximity to large amounts of other
cabling can cause interference. Ensure the
cable running from the camera to the TV is
uncoiled and not near other cables.
