III. INSTALLATION OF WALL CONTROL
[PLEASE NOTE:Wall and/or handheld remote control must be used for
fan to operate. If you do not wish to use the wall control,please proceed
to Part IV for handheld remote control assembly instructions.]
A. Remove existing wall switch.
B. Wire one of the wall controls with wire connectors provided as
shown in Fig.5.
WARNING:Do not mount wall control near heat-producing
equipment.
C. Wrap each wire connector separately with electrical tape as an
extra safety measure. Gently push wires and taped wire
connectors into outlet box.
D. Use a small screwdriver or ballpoint pen to set code switches on
the wall control by sliding them firmly to your choice of on or off /
left or right position. (Do not use factory setting/position.) (See
Fig. 5)
E. The dimmer switch (labeled Dand O) has been pre-set to the
"ON" position (D). If you do not wish to have dimming capability
or are using bulbs that are not capable of being dimmed, please
move the switch to the "OFF" position (O). (See Fig. 5)
NOTE: Most LED and compact fluorescent bulbs are not
compatible for use with dimmer controls.
F. Install one 12-volt battery (included) in wall control. (See Fig. 5)
IMPORTANT:Wall control will not function unless battery is installed.
G. Select a faceplate (almond or white) and press firmly onto front of wall
control. Attach wall control to outlet box and secure with screws from
original wall switch. Attach wall plate (included) to wall control using 2
screws provided with the wall control.(See Fig. 5)
INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
I. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
A. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND SAFETY INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING YOUR CONVERSION KIT AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
B. DANGER:HIGHVOLTAGE! Household electrical power can cause serious injury or death.Disconnect source of electrical power to the ceiling fan by removing fuse or switching off
circuit breaker.Make sure all electrical connections comply with local codes and ordinances,the National Electrical Code and ANSI/NFPA 70-1999.If you are unfamiliar with electrical
wiring,please use a qualified and licensed electrician.
C. CAUTION:TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT USE THE FAN WITH ANY SOLID STATE SPEED CONTROL DEVICE OR CONTROL FAN SPEED
WITH A FULL RANGE DIMMER SWITCH.
D. Do not use this remote control with solid state ceiling fans.
Electrical source and fan must be 115/120 volts, 60 Hz. Maximum fan motor amps: 1; Maximum light watts: 360, incandescent only
II. INSTALLATION OF RECEIVER
A. Disconnect source of electrical power to the ceiling fan by removing fuse
or switching off circuit breaker.
WARNING:Failure to disconnect power supply prior to installation may
result in serious injury.
B. Loosen and/or remove screws from existing switch housing and lower
switch housing--save screws for later use. (See Fig. 1 for example.)
C. Disconnect existing wiring between motor housing and switch housing
and then remove existing switch housing. (See Fig.1 for example.)
D. Remove screws from metal plate at top of replacement switch housing
and remove metal plate. (See Fig. 2)
E. Place receiver module inside replacement switch housing. Re-attach
metal plate with screws that were removed. [IMPORTANT: Metal plate
must be turned with the raised edge facing up.] (See Fig. 3)
F. Connect male plug from motor housing to female plug in receiver
module located inside replacement switch housing. (See Fig.4 for
example.)
G. Make sure all wiring is tucked inside switch housing. Attach replacement
switch housing to motor housing with screws that were previously
loosened/removed. (See Fig.4 for example.) Tighten all screws securely.

GENERAL INFORMATION
This remote control is designed to separately control your ceiling fan speed and, if applicable, light brightness.
There are eight buttons to control the fan and two buttons to control the lights.

IV. ASSEMBLY OF HANDHELD REMOTE CONTROL
[NOTE: If you have already installed the wall control but do not wish to use the
handheld remote control,please proceed to Part V.]
A. Gently pull on remote control cover to separate top and bottom parts.
(See Fig. 6)
B. Use a small screwdriver or ballpoint pen to set code switches on the wall
control by sliding them firmly to on or off / left or right position. (Do not use
factory setting/position). (See Fig. 7)
C. The dimmer switch (labeled Dand O) has been pre-set to the "ON" position
(D). If you do not wish to have dimming capability or are using bulbs that are
not capable of being dimmed, please move the switch to the "OFF" position
(O). (See Fig. 7)
NOTE: Most LED and compact fluorescent bulbs are not compatible for use
with dimmer controls.
D. Install one 12-volt battery (included) in wall control. (See Fig. 7)
E. Align holes in wall control with posts located on inside of TOP part of remote
control cover and press together firmly. Carefully tuck each wire into the back
of the wall control to enable it to fit inside the remote control cover. Place
BOTTOM part of remote control cover over wall control, aligning posts in top
of remote control cover with post holes in the bottom.(Note narrower ends of
remote control cover before closing.) Squeeze top and bottom of remote
control cover together until you hear a click at each end, indicating that the
remote control cover has closed completely. (See Fig. 8)
V. AUTOMATED LEARNING PROCESS/ACTIVATING CODE
CAUTION: The wall control/handheld remote control can be
programmed to multiple receivers or fans. If this is not desired and there are
other programmable receivers or fans within a range of 40 feet programmed
with a unique code, turn wall switch off to those fans before programming
this fan.
A. Restore electrical power and then, if using wall control, set slider switch on
wall control to the ON position.Within 60 seconds of turning on the wall
control, press and hold the LEARN button on the wall control for 5 seconds or
until the fan switches to MEDIUM speed. (See Fig. 8)
B. Turn power OFF again for at least 5 seconds and then turn power back on.
Within 60 seconds of restoring the power, press and hold the LEARN button
on the handheld remote control for 5 seconds to synchronize remote to fan.
(See Fig. 8)
C. Test the fan function (and, if applicable, the light function) to confirm the
learning process is complete.
D. Attach black faceplate to front of wall control; press down firmly. (See Fig. 8)

VI. REMOTE CONTROL--CARE AND OPERATION
A. Store the remote control away from excess heat or humidity.
B. To prevent damage to remote control,remove the battery if not used for long
periods of time.
C. Operation buttons on front panel of remote/wall control (See Fig. 9):

The light function is controlled by pressing the or button. Hold the
or button down to increase or decrease light.Tap button quickly to
turn light(s) off or on. If you press button in excess of 0.7 seconds it becomes a
dimmer.The light varies cyclically in 0.8 seconds.The light button has auto
resume, so the light will stay at the same brightness as the last time it was
turned off.
IMPORTANT NOTE:The 1Hr, 3Hr and 6Hr timer buttons will only work when
the fan is set on LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH speed.If the light is on when a timer
button is used,it will remain on with the fan until the pre-set time limit is up
or until the“fan OFF”button and/or the light button is pressed.
VII.TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Remote and/or wall control fail(s) to operate:
1. Make sure there is power to the receiver.
2. Make sure the switch housing has been re-wired correctly.
3. Make sure the battery in the handheld remote control and/or the
wall control is good.
4. The learning process between fan,handheld remote control and, if
applicable, wall control may not have been successful.Turn power
off and repeat Part V (Automated Learning Process) above.

INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACION Y FUNCIONAMIENTO
I. PRECAUCIONES DE SEGURIDAD
A. LEER TODAS LAS INSTRUCCIONES E INFORMACION DE SEGURIDAD CUIDADOSAMENTE ANTES DE INSTALAR SU KIT DE CONVERSION Y GUARDAR ESTAS
INSTRUCCIONES.
B. PELIGRO:¡ALTOVOLTAJE! La corriente de electricidad del hogar puede causar daños graves o la muerte.Desconectar el suministro de fuerza eléctrica que va al ventilador de
techo quitando el fusible o apagando el cortacircuito.Asegurarse de que toda conexión eléctrica cumpla con todos los códigos y las ordenanzas locales,el código nacional eléctrico y
ANSI/NFPA 70-1999. Si no está familiarizado con la instalación eléctrica,favor de usar un electricista calificado y autorizado.

II. INSTALACION OF RECEPTOR
A. Desconectar el suministro de fuerza eléctrica que va al ventilador de techo
quitando el fusible o apagando el cortacircuito.
ADVERTENCIA:El no desconectar el suministro de fuerza antes de la
instalación puede tener por resultado lesiones graves.
B. Aflojar y/o quitar los tornillos de la caja de encendido existente y bajar la caja
de encendido--guardar los tornillos para uso más adelante. (Ver ejemplo en la
Fig. 1.)
C. Desconectar el cableado existente entre el bastidor del motor y la caja de
encendido y luego quitar la caja de encendido existente. (Ver ejemplo en la
Fig. 1.)
D. Quitar los tornillos de la placa de metal en la parte superior de la caja de
encendido de repuesto y quitar la placa de metal. (Ver la Fig. 2)
E. Colocar el módulo del receptor dentro de la caja de encendido de repuesto.
Volver a sujetar la placa de metal con los tornillos que se quitaron.
[IMPORTANTE: Hay que voltear la placa de metal para que el borde
resaltado esté orientado hacia arriba.] (Ver la Fig.3)
F. Conectar el enchufe macho del bastidor del motor al enchufe hembra en el
módulo del receptor que se encuentra dentro de la caja de encendido de
repuesto. (Ver ejemplo en la Fig.4.)
G. Asegurarse de meter todo el cableado dentro de la caja de encendido.
Sujetar la caja de encendido de repuesto al bastidor del motor con los
tornillos que se aflojaron/quitaron anteriormente. (Ver ejemplo en la Fig. 4.)
Apretar bien todos los tornillos.
III. INSTALACION DEL CONTROL DE PARED
[FAVOR DE DARSE CUENTA: Hay que utilizar el control de pared y/o
el control remoto de mano para que funcione el ventilador. Si no
desea utilizar el control de pared, favor de pasar a la parte IV para las
instrucciones de ensamblaje del control remoto de mano.]
A. Quitar el interruptor de pared existente.
B. Alambrar uno de los controles de pared con los conectores para
cable provistos así como se muestra en la Fig. 5.
ADVERTENCIA:No instalar el control de pared cerca de equipo
que genera calefacción.
C. Como una medida de seguridad adicional, envolver cada conector
para cable con cinta aisladora. Delicadamente meter los cables y los
conectores para cable que tienen cinta dentro de la caja de salida.
D. Usar un destornillador pequeño o un bolígrafo para programar los
conmutadores de las unidades de control remoto en el control de
pared, moviéndolos firmemente a su elección de apagado o
encendido / hacia la izquierda o hacia la derecha. (No usar la
programación/posición que viene de la fábrica.) (Ver la Fig. 5)
E. El interruptor del reductor de luz (etiquetado Dy O) está
programado de antemano en posición "ENCENDIDO" (D).Si no
desea tener la capacidad de bajar la luz, favor de mover el
interruptor a la posición "APAGADO" (O). (Ver la Fig.5)
NOTA: La mayoría de las bombillas LED y fluorescentes compactas no
son compatibles para uso con reductor de luz.
F. Instalar una batería de 12 voltios (incluida) en el control de pared. (Ver la
Fig. 5)
IMPORTANTE: El control de pared no funcionará sin que se instale la batería.
G. Escoger una tapa (color almendra o blanca) y apretarla fijamente en la parte
delantera del control de pared. Sujetar el control de pared a la caja de salida y
asegurarlo con los tornillos del interruptor de pared original. Sujetar la placa
(incluida) al control de pared usando los 2 tornillos provistos con el control
de pared. (Ver la Fig.5)

VII. GUIA DE LOCALIZACION DE FALLAS
No funciona(n) el control remoto y/o el control de pared:
1. Asegurarse de que hay corriente que va al receptor.
2. Verificar que se hayan conectado los cables en la caja de encendido
correctamente,tal como estaban.
3. Verificar que sirve la batería en el control de mano y/o el control de
pared.
4. Es posible que no tuvo éxito el proceso de aprendizaje entre el
ventilador, el control remoto de mano y, si se aplica, el control de pared.
Cortar la electricidad y repetir la parte V (Proceso de aprendizaje
automático) más arriba.
VI. CONTROL REMOTO--CUIDADO Y FUNCIONAMIENTO
A. Guardar el control remoto lejos del calor excesivo o la humedad.
B. Para prevenir daño al control remoto, sacar la batería si no se va a utilizar el
control remoto por un tiempo extendido.
C. Botones de funcionamiento en el panel principal del control remoto/de pared
(Ver la Fig. 9):
pone el ventilador en velocidad BAJA
pone el ventilador en velocidad MEDIA
pone el ventilador en velocidad ALTA
pone temporizador de retardo de 1 hora para el
APAGADO (sigue en la última velocidad de
ventilador que se había seleccionado)
pone temporizador de retardo de 3 horas para el
APAGADO (sigue en la última velocidad de
ventilador que se había seleccionado)
pone temporizador de retardo de 6 horas para el
APAGADO (sigue en la última velocidad de
ventilador que se había seleccionado)
controla la rotación de las aspas, REVERSA
(se debe poner el ventilador en posición baja
antes de poner el ventilador en reversa)
APAGA el ventilador
controla el BRILLO y el APAGADO/ENCENDIDO del
bastidor iluminado/la luz superior [no se aplica
para todo modelo]
controla el BRILLO y el APAGADO/ENCENDIDO del
juego de luz [no se aplica para todo modelo]
para ENCENDER/APAGAR el control de pared
(el interruptor no funciona en el control de mano)
La función de la luz se controla oprimiendo el botón o . Oprimir el botón
o y mantenerlo oprimido para aumentar o disminuir el brillo de la luz.
Tocar el botón rápido para apagar y encender la(s) luz (luces). Si oprime el botón
por más de 0,7 segundos se convierte en reductor de luz. El rango de luz varía
cíclicamente en 0,8 segundos. El botón de la luz tiene una función que permite
que al prender la luz, se enciende automáticamente en el brillo en el cual la
había dejado antes de apagarla.
NOTA IMPORTANTE: Los botones temporizadores de 1Hr, 3Hr y 6Hr sólo
funcionarán cuando el ventilador está en velocidad BAJA, MEDIA o ALTA. Si está
encendida la luz al usar un botón temporizador, se quedará la luz prendida con el
ventilador hasta que el tiempo de retardo elegido se venza o hasta que se toque el
botón de“APAGADO”del ventilador y/o el botón de la luz.
IV. ENSAMBLAJE DEL CONTROL REMOTO DE MANO
[NOTA: Si ya se instaló el control de pared pero no desea utilizar el control remoto
de mano,favor de pasar a la parte V.]
A. Con cuidado separar la cubierta del control remoto, despegando la parte
superior de la inferior. (Ver la Fig.6)
B. Usar un destornillador pequeño o un bolígrafo para programar los
conmutadores de las unidades de control remoto en uno de los controles de
pared, moviéndolos firmemente a su elección de apagado o encendido / hacia la
izquierda o hacia la derecha. (No usar la programación/posición que viene de la
fábrica.) (Ver la Fig. 7)
C. El interruptor del reductor de luz (etiquetado Dy O) está programado de
antemano en posición "ENCENDIDO" (D). Si no desea tener la capacidad de bajar
la luz, favor de mover el interruptor a la posición "APAGADO" (O). (Ver la Fig. 7)
NOTA: La mayoría de las bombillas LED y fluorescentes compactas no son
compatibles para uso con reductor de luz.
D. Instalar una batería de 12 voltios (incluida) en el control de pared. (Ver la Fig.7)
E. Alinear los agujeros en el control de pared con los postes que se encuentran
adentro de la parte SUPERIOR de la cubierta del control remoto y apretar
fijamente. Con cuidado meter los cables dentro de la parte de atrás del control
de pared para que quepan en la cubierta del control remoto. Colocar la parte
INFERIOR de la cubierta del control remoto encima del control de pared,
alineando los postes en la parte superior de la cubierta del control remoto con
los agujeros para los postes en la parte inferior. (Asegurarse de alinear los extremos
más angostos de la cubierta del control remoto antes de cerrarla.) Apretar la parte
superior e inferior de la cubierta del control remoto hasta que se oiga un“clic” en
cada extremo, lo cual indicará que se haya cerrado completamente la cubierta
del control remoto. (Ver la Fig. 8)
V. PROCESO DE APRENDIZAJE AUTOMATICO/EL ACTIVAR EL CODIGO
PRECAUCION: Se puede programar el control de pared/control remoto de
mano para usar con varios receptores o ventiladores. Si no es lo que buscaba
hacer y hay otros receptores o ventiladores programables dentro del alcance de
12 metros que tienen un código único, apagar el interruptor de pared de dichos
ventiladores antes de programar este ventilador.
A. Conectar la electricidad de nuevo y luego, si se instaló el control de pared,
poner el interruptor corredero en el control de pared en posición ON
(encendido). Dentro de 60 segundos de haber prendido el control de pared,
oprimir el botón LEARN en el control de pared por 5 segundos o hasta que el
ventilador cambie a la velocidad MEDIA).(Ver la Fig. 8)
B. Cortar la corriente de nuevo por 5 segundos como mínimo y luego volver a

electricidad, oprimir el botón LEARN en el control remoto de mano por 5
segundos para sincronizar el control con el ventilador. (Ver la Fig. 8)
C. Poner a prueba la función de ventilador (y, si se aplica, la función de luz) para
confirmar que se haya terminado el proceso de aprendizaje.
D. Fijar la tapa negra a la parte delantera del control de pared; apretar la tapa
fijamente. (Ver la Fig.8)
