Safety Instructions
Observing the instructions is a prerequisite for safe and fault-free operation and for achieving the product characteristics.
lThe operator/user must have fully read and understood the instructions.
lThe operator must ensure that the instructions are available to the user in a readable form.

lThe following safety and assembly instructions refer to the device and not to the accessories or drive.

lIn the event of unauthorised opening, improper use, incorrect installation or incorrect operation of the device, there is a

Risks for persons when handling the device
lChildren under the age of 3 or persons who cannot assess the risks are not allowed to use the device. Keep it out of
their reach.

Observe all safety instructions for radio operation
Only use radio systems if they are permitted and can be operated in a fault-free manner
lRadio systems must not be operated in areas where there is an increased risk of interference (e.g. hospitals, airports).
lRemote control is only permitted for devices and systems where a malfunction in the transmitter or receiver does not
pose a risk to persons, animals or objects, or where this safety risk is covered by other safety devices.
lThe operator is not protected from interference from other telecommunications systems and terminal equipment (e.g.
from radio systems which are properly operated in the same frequency range).
lThe range of the radio signal is limited by law and the structural conditions.
Type plate
The type plate is located on the back of the hand-held transmitter.
Intended Use
The Griesser hand-held radio transmitter SFB-1M (1 channel) and SFB-5M (5 channel) are intended solely for controlling sun
protection systems such as external venetian blinds, roller shutters, facade awnings and awnings. The instructions for this hand-
held transmitter apply to Griesser blind actuators with a slot for an extension module and using a MOFUB radio module.

Operation
Move the sun protection system all the way up Press the UP button (3) for more than 1 second
Move the sun protection system all the way
down
Press the DOWN button (6) for more than 1 second
Move the sun protection system to shading posi-
tion
Press the DOWN button (6) for a long time and then briefly
Stop sun protection system STOP Press button (4)
Adjust blind/slats Press the UP (3) or DOWN button (6) briefly when stopped
Transmission control
A radio signal is indicated by the status display (LED ring around the STOP button) lighting up. The different colours of the status
display mean the following:
Status display Meaning
Lights up green Radio signal sent
Does not light up No radio module programmed
no battery inserted or battery empty
Blinks orange Channel (transmitter) in programming mode
Blinks red Batteries weak
Information on handling batteries
lBatteries can be life-threatening if swallowed. Batteries and the device must therefore be kept out of reach of small
children. If a battery has been swallowed, seek medical help immediately.
lBatteries must not be charged or reactivated by any other means, taken apart, thrown into a fire or short-circuited.
lRemove batteries from the device when they are used up or if you will not be using the device for a long time. This will
avoid damage that can occur due to leakage.
Replacing batteries
Note:
Only replace batteries with an identical type.
1. Unscrew the bottom of the device and open the housing.
2. Remove the batteries.
3. Insert the new batteries in the correct position.
4. Reassemble the device.
Dispose of used batteries properly.
Cleaning
lOnly clean the device with a dry cloth.
lDo not use a detergent, as this may affect the plastic.

Disposal
Upon reaching the end of its useful life, especially if malfunctions occur, dispose of the device in accordance with the envi-
ronmental regulations in force in your country.
Electrical waste must not be disposed of together with household waste. Contact your local authority or dealer for advice on
recycling.
