IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from
other metal objects like: paper clips, coins, keys,
nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can
make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause
sparks, burns, or a fire.
Keep the stereo and its handle dry, clean and free
from oil and grease. Always use a clean cloth when
cleaning. Never use brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, or any strong solvents to clean your
stereo. Following this rule will reduce the risk of loss of
control and deterioration of the enclosure plastic.
Do not use this apparatus near water.
Clean only with dry cloth.
Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Do not install near any heat sources such as
radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus
(including amplifiers) that produce heat.
Only use attachments/accessories specified by the
manufacturer.
SERVICE
Product service must be performed only by
qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance
performed by unqualified personnel may result in a risk
of injury.
When servicing a product, use only identical
replacement parts. Follow instructions in the
Maintenance section of this manual. Use of
unauthorized parts or failure to follow Maintenance
instructions may create a risk of shock or injury.
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
Servicing is required when the apparatus has been
damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or
plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects
have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has
been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate

WORK AREA
Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered
benches and dark areas invite accidents.
Do not operate products in explosive atmospheres,

ELECTRICAL SAFETY
A battery operated product with integral batteries
or a separate battery pack must be recharged only
with the specified charger for the battery. A charger
that may be suitable for one type of battery may create
a risk of fire when used with another battery.
Use battery operated product only with specifically
designated battery pack. Use of any other batteries
may create a risk of fire.
Use battery only with charger listed. For use with
19.2V nickel-cadmium and 19.2V lithium-ion battery
packs, see tool/appliance/battery pack/charger
correlation supplement 988000-272.
PERSONAL SAFETY
Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is in the
locked or off position before inserting battery pack.
Carrying products with your finger on the switch or
inserting the battery pack int a product with the switch
on invites accidents.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance
at all times. Proper footing and balance enable better
control of the product in unexpected situations.
Do not use on a ladder or unstable support. Stable
footing on a solid surface enables better control of the
product in unexpected situations.
PRODUCT USE AND CARE
Do not use product if switch does not turn it on or
off. A product that cannot be controlled with the switch
is dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect battery pack from product or place the
switch in the locked or off position before making
any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing
the product. Such preventive safety measures reduce
the risk of starting the product accidentally.

Know your product. Read operator’s manual
carefully. Learn its applications and limitations, as
well as the specific potential hazards related to
this product. Following this rule will reduce the risk of
electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
Battery products do not have to be plugged into
an electrical outlet; therefore, they are always in
operating condition. Be aware of possible hazards
when not using your battery product or when
changing accessories. Following this rule will reduce
the risk of electric shock, fire, or serious personal
injury.
Do not place battery products or their batteries
near fire or heat. This will reduce the risk of explosion
and possible injury.
Do not crush, drop or damage battery pack. Do
not use a battery pack or charger that has been
dropped or received a sharp blow. A damaged
battery is subject to explosion. Properly dispose of a
dropped or damaged battery immediately.
Batteries can explode in the presence of a source
of ignition, such as a pilot light. To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, never use any cordless product
in the presence of open flame. An exploded battery
can propel debris and chemicals. If exposed, flush with
water immediately.
Do not charge battery product in a damp or wet
location. Following this rule will reduce the risk of
electric shock.
For best results, your battery product should be
charged in a location where the temperature is
more than 50°F but less than 100°F. To reduce the
risk of serious personal injury, do not store outside or
in vehicles.
Under extreme usage or temperature conditions,
battery leakage may occur. If liquid comes in
contact with your skin, wash immediately with
soap and water, then neutralize with lemon juice
or vinegar. If liquid gets into your eyes, flush them
with clean water for at least 10 minutes, then seek
immediate medical attention. Following this rule will
reduce the risk of serious personal injury.
To reduce the risk of personal injury and electric
shock, the product should not be played with or
placed where small children can reach it.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not expose
to water or rain.
Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently
and use them to instruct others who may use this
tool. If you loan someone this tool, loan them these
instructions also to prevent misuse of the product and
possible injury.

FEATURES
KNOW YOUR RADIO
See Figure 1, page i.
The safe use of this product requires an understanding
of the information on the product and in this operator’s
manual. Before use of this product, familiarize yourself
with all operating features and safety rules.
ACCESSORY DEVICE HOLDER
An accessory device holder is located on the back of the
radio for holding small music devices such as MP3
players.
ADJUSTING TELESCOPING ANTENNA
The antenna can adjust to pick up radio stations and can
be replaced if necessary.
AMPLIFIER
The radio can be used as an amplifier for MP3 players,
CD players, and other audio devices using the supplied
auxiliary cable.
DIGITAL DISPLAY
The radio channel and mode can be viewed on the digital
display which illuminates when the radio is turned on.
TUNE/SEEK SELECTOR
The tune/seek selector allows you to manually search
through each FM and AM radio channel or directly skip to
receivable radio channels.
WEATHER BAND
The radio can receive all seven weather frequencies used
by the National Weather Service.
ASSEMBLY
UNPACKING
This product has been shipped completely assembled.
Carefully remove the product and any accessories from
the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list
are included.
WARNING: Do not use this product if it is not
completely assembled or if any parts appear to be
missing or damaged. Use of a product that is not
properly and completely assembled could result in
serious personal injury.
Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage
or damage occurred during shipping.

OPERATION
WARNING: Do not allow familiarity with products to
make you careless. Remember that a careless
fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious

shields marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to
do so could result in objects being thrown into your
eyes resulting in possible serious injury.

sories not recommended by the manufacturer of this
product. The use of attachments or accessories not
recommended can result in serious personal injury.
APPLICATIONS
You may use this product for the purposes listed below:
Listening to FM radio, AM radio, Weather Band
Broadcasts
Amplifying MP3 players, CD players, and other audio
devices
This product will accept Craftsman®19.2 V lithium-ion
battery packs and Craftsman 19.2 V nickel-cadmium bat-
tery packs.
For complete charging instructions, refer to the Operator’s
Manual for the battery packs and chargers listed in the
General Safety Rules.
BATTERY PROTECTION FEATURES
Craftsman®19.2 V lithium-ion battery packs are designed
with features that protect the lithium-ion cells and
maximize battery life.
If the tool stops during use, recharge the battery pack.
TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK
See Figure 2, page i.
Place the battery pack on the radio.
Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack
snap into place and the battery pack is secured on the
radio before beginning operation.
WARNING: Always remove battery pack from your
tool when you are assembling parts, making adjust-
ments, cleaning, or when not in use. Removing bat-
tery pack will prevent accidental starting that could
cause serious personal injury.
TO REMOVE BATTERY PACK
See Figure 2, page i.
Place the power switch in the OFF (O) position.
Locate latches on side of battery pack and depress
both sides to release battery pack.
Remove battery pack from the radio.
TURNING THE RADIO ON/OFF
See Figure 3, page i.
To turn ON: turn the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob clockwise.
To turn OFF: turn the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob counter-
clockwise to the OFF position.
RADIO MODES
See Figure 3, page i.
There are four mode settings on the radio: FM, AM, AUX,
and the Weather Band setting. To select any of these
settings, turn the radio ON and push the MODE button to
the desired setting.
CONTROLLING VOLUME
See Figure 3, page i.
Use the volume level indicator located on the
ON/OFF/VOLUME knob to find the desired volume.
Turn the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob clockwise to increase
radio volume.
Turn the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob counterclockwise to
decrease radio volume.
DIGITAL DISPLAY
See Figure 4, page ii.
The digital display on the front of the radio illuminates
when the radio is switched ON, displaying the radio mode
and frequency/channel setting. If the battery charge is low,
a flashing low battery indicator will also be displayed.
NOTE: Charge battery when low battery indicator begins
to flash. If the radio continues to operate with the low
battery indicator flashing, the radio will drain the battery
until the radio will no longer emit sound and the backlight
and the LCD display will also flash. To avoid deep
discharge, remove the battery pack from the radio and
charge immediately.

OPERATION
CHANGING CHANNELS
See Figures 3 - 5, pages i-ii.
To change radio channels manually in AM or FM setting,
use the tune button to seek manually or with the seek
feature.
AM/FM Channels:
With the radio set to AM or FM, push the tune/seek
selector up or down and quickly release to manually
change radio channels one frequency at a time.
To change radio channels using the seek feature, push
the tune/seek selector up or down and hold for one
second before releasing to directly skip to receivable
radio channels.
To change channels in Weather Band Mode:
With the radio set to Weather Band, push the tune/seek
selector up or down and quickly release to manually
change weather band channels one frequency at a
time.
NOTE: The seek feature does not work in Weather
Band mode.
To use the antenna:
Raise or lower radio antenna until radio channel can be
heard clearly. The antenna can also be rotated or tilted
to help improve reception for weaker channels.
WEATHERBAND CHANNELS
This radio is capable of receiving broadcasts on any one
of seven available National Weather Radio (NWR) broad-
cast frequencies. The channel numbers displayed when
tuning correspond with the frequencies below:

Channel 7 162.550 MHz
National Weather Radio (NWR) is a nationwide network of
radio stations broadcasting continuous weather informa-
tion directly from a nearby National Weather Service of-
fice. NWR broadcasts National Weather Service warnings,
watches, forecasts, and other hazard information 24 hours
a day. A listing of the National Weather Radio stations
used for specific areas is available on the internet.
AUXILIARY MODE
See Figure 6, page ii.
The portable radio can be used as an amplifier for MP3
players, CD players, and other music devices.
To use the auxiliary mode:
Push the MODE button to select the AUX mode.
Remove moisture cover protecting the auxiliary input
jack.
Plug the auxiliary cable into the auxiliary input jack
above the ON/OFF/VOLUME knob.
Plug cable into music device.
Turn radio and music device ON.
NOTE: Adjust volume to desired level using either the
radio or music device.
After setting up the radio to amplify an accessory device,
you can use the accessory device holder on the back to
clip the accessory device to the radio.

MAINTENANCE
REPLACING THE ANTENNA
See Figure 7, page ii.
If the radio should need a replacement antenna for any
reason, the attached antenna can easily be removed and
replaced.
Insert a phillips head screwdriver into the antenna
screw slot.
Turn the antenna screw counterclockwise to remove.
Remove antenna when antenna screw has been
removed.
Orient and insert replacement antenna flat end into
antenna mounting hole.
Insert the phillips head screw into the antenna screw
hole.
Turn the antenna screw with the phillips head
screwdriver clockwise to attach and tighten.
WARNING: When servicing, use only identical
replacement parts. Use of any other parts may
create a hazard or cause product damage.
WARNING: Always wear eye protection with side
shields marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to
do so could result in objects being thrown into your
eyes resulting in possible serious injury.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use.
Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING: Do not at any time let brake fluids,
gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating
oils, etc. come in contact with plastic parts. Chemi-
cals can damage, weaken or destroy plastic which
may result in serious personal injury.
Only the parts shown on the parts list are intended to be
repaired or replaced by the customer. All other parts
should be replaced at a Sears Service Center.
BATTERY PACK REMOVAL AND
PREPARATION FOR RECYCLING
WARNING: Upon removal, cover the battery
pack’s terminals with heavy-duty adhesive tape. Do
not attempt to destroy or disassemble battery pack
or remove any of its components. Lithium-ion and
nickel-cadmium batteries must be recycled or dis-
posed of properly. Also, never touch both terminals
with metal objects and/or body parts as short circuit
may result. Keep away from children. Failure to
comply with these warnings could result in fire and/
or serious injury.

EMPLEO Y CUIDADO DEL PRODUCTO
No utilice el producto si el interruptor no enciende o
no apaga. Un producto que no puede controlarse con
el interruptor es peligroso y debe repararse.
Desconecte la batería del producto o ponga el
interruptor en la posición de aseguramiento o
apagado antes de efectuar ajustes, de cambiar
accesorios o de guardar el producto. Con tales
medidas preventivas de seguridad se reduce el riesgo
de poner en marcha accidentalmente el producto.
Cuando no esté usando la batería, manténgala

Las baterías pueden explotar en presencia de
fuentes de inflamación, como los pilotos de gas.

un producto inalámbrico en presencia de llamas
expuestas. La explosión de una batería puede lanzar
fragmentos y compuestos químicos. Si ha estado

temperatura esté entre 10 °C (50 °C) y 30 °C (100

En condiciones extremas de uso o temperatura las
baterías pueden emanar líquido. Si el líquido llega

En la parte trasera de la radio se encuentra una soporte
para dispositivo accesorio del que puede sujetarse
aparatos de música pequeños como, por ejemplo,

ANTENA AJUSTE QUE SE PLIEGA COMO UN

La antenna puede ajustar para recoger emisoras y puede
ser reemplazado si necesario.
AMPLIFICADOR
Puede usarse la radio como amplificador para
reproductores de MP3, reproductores de CD y otros
aparatos de sonido valiéndose del cable de conexión
auxiliar que se incluye.
PANTALLA DIGITAL
El indicador de canal de radio y modo puede verse en la

producto. El empleo de aditamentos o accesorios no

USOS
Este producto puede emplearse para los fines siguientes:
Escuchar radio FM, radio AM y emisiones de la banda
del clima
Amplificar reproductores de MP3, reproductores de CD
y otros aparatos de audio
Este producto acepta los paquetes de baterías
Craftsman®de iones de litio de 19,2 V y los paquete de
baterías. Craftsman de níquel-cadmio de 19,2 V.

CARACTERÍSTICAS DE PROTECCIÓN DE LAS
BATERÍAS
Las baterías de iones de litio Craftsman®de 19,2 V están
diseñadas con características que protegen las celdas de
iones de litio y maximizan la duración de las baterías.
Si el producto se detiene durante el uso, recargue la
paquete de batería.
INSTALACIÓN DEL PAQUETE DE BATERÍAS
Vea la figura 2, página i.
Coloque el paquete de batería en la radio.
 Asegúrese de que los pestillos situados en ambos
lados del paquete de baterías entren completamente en
su lugar con un chasquido y de que el paquete quede
bien asegurado en la radio antes de empezar a utilizar
ésta.
ADVERTENCIA: Retire siempre el paquete de
baterías de la herramienta antes de instalar las pie-
zas, realizar ajustes. limpiarla o cuando no la utilice.
Retirar el paquete de baterías evitará que la unidad
se accione accidentalmente y provoque lesiones
graves.
PARA DESMONTAR EL PAQUETE DE BATERÍAS
Vea las figura 2, página i.
Coloque el interruptor de corriente en la posición de
OFF (O).
Localice los pestillos situados en el costado del
paquete de baterías y oprímalos en ambos lados para
liberar éste del sopladora/ aspiradora .
Retire del radio el paquete de baterías.
ENCENDIDO Y APAGADO DE LA RADIO
Vea la figura 3, página i.
Para ENCENDER: gire a la derecha la perilla de
encendido/apagado/volumen.
Para APAGAR: gire a la izquierda la perilla de
encendido/apagado/volumen a la posición OFF
(APAGADO).
MODOS DE RADIO
Vea la figura 3, página i.
La radio tiene cuatro frecuencias: FM, AM, AUX y la
frecuencia de Banda del Clima. Para seleccionar alguna
de estas frecuencias, coloque la radio en la posición ON
(ENCENDIDO) y presione el botón MODE (MODO) hasta
alcanzar la frecuencia deseada.
VOLUMEN DE CONTROL
Vea la figura 3, página i.
Use el indicador de volumen situado en la perilla de
encendido/apagado/volumen hasta encontrar el
volumen deseado.
Gire a la derecha la perilla de volumen para aumentar
el volumen de la radio.
Gire a la izquierda la perilla de volumen para reducir el
volumen de la radio.
PANTALLA DIGITAL
Vea la figura 4, página ii.
La pantalla digital de la parte delantera de la radio se
enciende cuando se ENCIENDE la radio, mostrando el
modo/ajuste de canal de radio. Si la batería tiene poca
carga, aparece también un indicador intermitente de
batería baja.
NOTA: Cargue la batería cuando se encienda el indicador
de batería baja. Si la radio continúa funcionando con el
indicador de batería baja destellando, la radio agotará la
batería hasta dejar de emitir sonidos, y la luz de fondo y la
pantalla de cristal líquido también destellarán. Para evitar
la descarga completa, quite el paquete de baterías de la
radio y cárguelo inmediatamente.

FUNCIONAMIENTO
CAMBIAR LOS CANALES
Vea las figuras 3 - 5, páginas i-ii.
Para cambiar manualmente los canales de radio en las
frecuencias AM o FM, use la función de búsqueda o el
botón de sintonización para buscar manualmente la emi-
sora deseada.
Canales AM/FM:
Con la radio sintonizada en AM o FM, presione el
selector de sintonización/búsqueda hacia arriba o
hacia abajo y suéltelo rápidamente para cambiar
manualmente los canales de radio, una frecuencia a la
vez.
Para cambiar los canales de radio usando la función
de búsqueda, presione el selector de sintonización/
búsqueda hacia arriba o hacia abajo y sosténgalo
durante un segundo antes de soltarlo para sintonizar
directamente el próximo canal de radio con señal.
Para cambiar de canal en el modo Banda del Clima:
Con la radio sintonizada en Banda del Clima, presione
el selector de sintonización/búsqueda hacia arriba
o hacia abajo y suéltelo rápidamente para cambiar
manualmente los canales de la Banda del Clima, una
frecuencia a la vez.
NOTA: La función de búsqueda no se puede utilizar en el
modo Banda del Clima.
Para usar la antena:
Suba o baje la antena de la radio hasta que el canal de
radio se escuche correctamente. También se puede
girar o inclinar la antena para ayudar a mejorar la
recepción de los canales con señal más débil.
CANALES DE LA BANDA DEL CLIMA
Esta radio tiene capacidad para recibir emisiones en
cualquiera de las siete frecuencias de emisión de la Radio
Nacional del Clima (National Weather Radio, NWR). Los
números de canal que aparecen cuando sintoniza la
radio corresponden a las frecuencias que se detallan a
continuación:

La Radio Nacional del Clima (NWR) es una red nacional
de estaciones de radio que emiten en forma continua
información climática que recaban directamente de la
oficina del Servicio Meteorológico Nacional más cercana.
La NWR emite durante las 24 horas del día advertencias,
alertas, pronósticos y demás información de peligro del
Servicio Meteorológico Nacional. Puede encontrar en
línea una lista de las estaciones de la Radio Nacional del
Clima utilizadas para cada área específica.
MODO DE AUXILIAR
Vea la figura 6, página ii.
Puede usarse la radio portátil como amplificador para
reproductores de MP3, reproductores de CD y otros
aparatos de música.
Para utilizar el modo auxiliar:
Presione el botón MODE (MODO) hasta alcanzar la
posición AUX.
Retire la tapa antihumedad que protege el enchufe de
entrada auxiliar.
Conecte el cable auxiliar en el enchufe de entrada
auxiliar debajo del interruptor encendido/apagado/
volumen.
Conecte el cable al aparato de música.
ENCIENDA la radio y el aparato de música.
NOTA: Ajuste el volumen al nivel deseado mediante el
aparato de música o la radio.
Después de configurar la radio para que funcione con
un dispositivo accesorio, puede utilizar el soporte para
dispositivo accesorio que se encuentra en la parte trasera
para sujetar el dispositivo accesorio a la radio.

MANTENIMIENTO
CÓMO CAMBIAR LA ANTENA
Vea la figura 7, página ii.
Si por algún motivo necesita cambiar la antena de la
radio, se puede quitar y cambiar con facilidad.
Introduzca un destornillador de cabeza Phillips en la
ranura para tornillos de la antena.
 Gire el tornillo de la antena hacia la izquierda para quitarlo.
Quite la antena una vez que haya quitado el tornillo de
la antena.
Oriente y introduzca el extremo plano de la antena de
reemplazo en la agujero de montaje de la antena.
Introduzca el tornillo de cabeza Phillips introduzca
un destornillador de cabeza Phillips en la ranura para
tornillos de la antena.
Gire el tornillo de la antena hacia la derecha para
apretarlo hasta que la antena quede bien ajustada.
ADVERTENCIA: Para el servicio de la unidad sólo
utilice piezas de repuesto Craftsman idénticas. El
empleo de piezas diferentes puede presentar un
peligro o causar daños al producto.
ADVERTENCIA: Siempre póngase protección
ocular con la marca de cumplimiento de la norma
ANSI Z87.1. Si no cumple esta advertencia, los
objetos que salen despedidos pueden producirle
lesiones serias en los ojos.
MANTENIMIENTO GENERAL
Evite el empleo de solventes al limpiar piezas de plástico.
La mayoría de los plásticos son susceptibles a diferentes
tipos de solventes comerciales y pueden resultar
dañados. Utilice paños limpios para eliminar la suciedad,
el polvo, el aceite, la grasa, etc.
ADVERTENCIA: No permita en ningún momento
que fluidos para frenos, gasolina, productos a base
de petróleo, aceites penetrantes, etc., lleguen a
tocar las piezas de plástico. Las sustancias químicas
pueden dañar, debilitar o destruir el plástico, lo cual
a su vez puede producir lesiones serias.
Solamente las piezas mostradas en la lista de piezas
pueden ser reparadas o cambiadas por el consumidor.
Todas las piezas restantes deben ser reemplazadas en un
centro de servicio autorizado Craftsman.
REMOCIÓN Y PREPARACIÓN DEL PAQUETE DE
BATERÍAS PARA EL RECICLADO
ADVERTENCIA: Al retirar el paquete de baterías,
cubra las terminales de la misma con cinta adhesiva
reforzada. No intente destruir o desarmar el paquete
de baterías, ni de desmontar ninguno de sus
componentes. Las baterías de níquel-cadmio o iones
de litio deben reciclarse o desecharse debidamente.
También, nunca toque ambas terminales con
objetos metálicos y partes del cuerpo, ya que puede
producirse un corto circuito. Manténgase fuera del
alcance de los niños. La inobservancia de estas
advertencias puede causar incendios y lesiones
corporales serias.
