CP660
SIX CHANNEL AMPLIFIER
The Crown®CP660 six-channel power
amplifier is designed for a wide range
of demanding applications, including
multi-channel, distributed sound, surround
and stereo systems. Perfect for applications
with multi-zone needs, such as cafeterias,
restaurants, schools and theaters, the CP660’s
efficient design allows convenient, cost-effec-
tive, reliable operation in a compact, two-rack-
space format.
This highly efficient amplifier includes a power-
sharing design that provides extra power to
channels where it’s needed most. A discrete-
component power design employs rugged,
high-current metal output transistors for
maximum reliability. The super-quiet, variable-
speed fan operates according to thermal de-
mand, while the front-panel air intakes provide
the most efficient cooling in any rack.
The CP660 brings you maximum flexibility for
configuration, with six independent amplifier
channels. Each pair of output channels can
be bridged, using convenient switches on
the back panel, to provide three, four or five
channels with higher output power. In addi-
tion, each channel includes its own back-panel
gain control for convenient system balancing.
Barrier strip connectors are provided for the
inputs, and heavy-duty 5-way binding posts
allow secure output connections. Plus, your
investment in a CP660 is backed by Crown’s
unequaled Three-Year, No-Fault, Full Warranty
that covers everything.

800-342-6939 or 574-294-8200. Also, visit the
Crown Audio website at www.crownaudio.com.

Crown’s Three-Year, No-Fault, Fully Transferable Warranty
Crown offers a Three-Year, No-Fault, Fully Transferable Warranty for every new Crown ampli-
fier—an unsurpassed industry standard. With this unprecedented No-Fault protection, your new
Crown amplifier is warranted to meet or exceed original specifications for the first three years of
ownership. During this time, if your amplifier fails, or does not perform to original specifications,
it will be repaired or replaced at our expense. About the only things not covered by this warranty
are those losses normally covered by insurance and those caused by intentional abuse. And the
coverage is transferable, should you sell your amplifier.
See your authorized Crown dealer for full warranty disclosure and details. For customers outside
of the USA, please contact your authorized Crown distributor for warranty information or call

Indicators
Signal: A green LED for each channel which
flashes to show audio output.
Clip: A yellow LED for each channel which
turns on when distortion becomes audible in
the amplifier output.
Temp: A red LED which turns on when the
temperature of the amplifier gets too high and
the fan is in full-speed operation mode. If the
maximum operating temperature is exceeded,
this LED remains on while the amplifier cools
down.
Power: A green LED which turns on when the
amplifier has been turned on and has power.
Input/Output
Input Connector: Three-terminal barrier block
balanced connectors.
Input Impedance (nominal): 20 k ohms, bal-
anced; 10 k ohms, unbalanced.
Input Sensitivity: 0.7 volts for standard 1-kHz
power at 8 ohms.
Output Connectors: One set of 5-way color-
coded binding posts for each channel. The
output connections can accommodate banana
plugs, double banana plugs, or wire as large as
10 gauge.
Output Impedance: Less than 32 milliohms.
DC Output Offset: < ±50 millivolts.
Output Signal,
Dual: Unbalanced; two separate channels
per pair.
Bridge-Mono: Balanced; single-channel per
pair. Odd-numbered controls are active;
Even-numbered controls should be turned
down.
Protection
The CP660 amplifier is protected against
shorted, open or mismatched loads; overloaded
power supplies; excessive temperature; chain
destruction phenomena; input overload dam-
age; and high-frequency blowups. It also pro-
tects loudspeakers from input/output DC, large
or dangerous DC offsets and turn-on/turn-off
transients.
Mechanical
Cooling: Internal heat exchangers with on-de-
mand forced air cooling.
Dimensions: EIA Standard 19-inch rack mount
width (EIA RS-310-B), 3.5-inch (8.9-cm) height
