Chapter 2: Installing the Automated Slide Gate
Installing the Receiver Assembly
What You Should Know
Steps 1-3 is for installing the slide gate assembly to the existing tanks. If you are installing the slide gate
assembly to the new tanks, skip steps 1-3 and begin at step-4.
1. Remove the ten 5/16" x 1" MS screws (4) and 5/16" nylon hex nuts (12) to detach the existing
transfer plate (23) from the boot (22).
Figure 2-9 Removing the existing transfer plate from boot
2. Lower the unloader assembly (24) to the ground carefully by using blocks or floor jack (35).

Chapter 2: Installing the Automated Slide Gate
3. Remove the four 5/16" x 3/4" flange bolts (5) and 5/16" ESNA nuts (13) to detach the existing
transfer plate (23) from the unloader assembly (24) and discord the transfer plate (23).
Figure 2-11 Removing the existing transfer plate from unloader
4. Unpack the receiver assembly (25) and install it to the boot (22) using ten 5/16" x 1" MS screws (4)
and 5/16" nylon hex nuts (12).
IMPORTANT: Do not overtighten the nuts (12). It may result in cracking of the boot (22).

Chapter 2: Installing the Automated Slide Gate
5. Reinstall the unloader assembly (24) to the receiver assembly (25) using four 5/16" x 3/4" flange
bolts (5) and 5/16" ESNA nuts (13).

Installing the Actuator Assembly
What You Should Know
The difference between the single actuator housing assembly (A) and twin actuator housing assembly (B)
is the number of gates installed inside the actuator housing. Follow the below steps to install the single or
twin slide gate actuator assembly.
1. Install two 1/4" x 1-1/2" eye bolts (6), one to each side of the actuator housing assembly (A or B).
Figure 2-14 Installing the eye bolts
18 PNEG-2280 Automated Slide Gate

Chapter 2: Installing the Automated Slide Gate
2. Attach one end of the chain (36) to the eye bolt (6) and use the other end to form a loop around the
collar brace (46) with a S-hook (45). Repeat for other side and hang the actuator assembly (A or B).
NOTE:
a. Check for levelness from front to back and side to side.
b. Once level, secure the chain (36) to the collar braces (46) with a screw (43) and washer
(44).

3. Apply weather caulking (26) around the gate slot on the inside of the actuator housing assembly
(A or B).

Chapter 2: Installing the Automated Slide Gate
4. Align the actuator housing assembly (A or B) to the receiver assembly (25) by inserting alignment
punches (27) to two holes at alternate locations.
5. Install the 5/16" x 2" HHCS bolts (7) and 5/16" ESNA nuts (13) to the other two holes with bolt head
on the outside of the actuator housing assembly (A or B). Hand tighten the bolts (7).
Figure 2-17 Aligning the actuator housing assembly with receiver assembly
6. Remove the alignment punches (27) and install remaining two 5/16" x 2" HHCS bolts (7) and 5/16"
ESNA nuts (13). Hand tighten the bolts (7).
7. Make sure the actuator housing assembly (A or B) is hanging level from the chains (36) and the
gates should slide through the opening.
NOTE: After making necessary adjustments, tighten all the hardware.
